Berkeley kid from socal here. You're content is amazing, especially the SF to LA (Irvine Station) train video, just super raw and honest.
Thank you! I really appreciate that!
Is it weird that I hope to run into Adam one day? Legit the most down to earth RUclipsr. Don’t ever change!
Say hi if you do!
The soul of skiing is still alive but it's found outside the mega passes. The Indy pass gives 2 days each at over 120 resorts. I have planned by yearly ski road trip around hitting Indy resorts.
I usually ski kirkwood and will be there for two weeks starting Friday if decide to finish the mission
I really hope this is your breakthrough year. you've been putting out killer content for a while now. cheers!
Thank you! I'm certainly working on it!
One of the things I've always bragged about California is that you can go skiing in the morning in the mountains and surfing as the sun sets over the Pacific Ocean. However, I don't like either skiing or surfing, so I'd love to see someone else tackle this. You up for it? You'll have to wait for spring. The skiing won't be as good, but it will be nicer for surfing, although you still need a full suit on for surfing.
Actually, in Tahoe spring is often best. The way that the weather patterns work, Tahoe gets most of its big storms in February-April. So could be great skiing.
You can do that in Hawaii,Washington, Oregon,
@@Stpcjit Absolutely! But I don't live there, and neither does Adam. LOL
@@milesr5779 Yeah, I think it just depends on the consistency of the weather to keep those early storm snows from melting too quick. I'm not a skier, so I have no expertise on snow quality, just listen to the locals talk about Tahoe vs Dodge Ridge, which apparently gets pretty bad in the late spring.
I'm horrible at surfing. I do know people that live in California for that reason specifically. It's the best mix of both sports that I'm aware of!
The 2 passes are NOT cheap, but for just one day and 5 resorts....you easily saved close to half of one of them, although Monday is probably a cheaper ski day.
When I heard you say 6 resorts in one day I thought..."Not without a helicopter". Impressed you made it to 5. Always love a trip to Lake Tahoe! Spent a couple years living in Roseville and during the summer, if it got too hot, I'd jump in my convertible and head up north. Dropped the temp 40 degrees one trip! And yes, people, snow can and does stay year round in the Sierras.
On those snow boots...hate them with a passion! But they kept me attached to my skis...so that's good. Yes, I hate ice skates too. LOL
Tahoe is such a special place. I love it!
It's important to remember that lift tickets used to be cheap. ikon and epic jacked up single day ticket prices to force people to buy the passes, artificially creating the sense of 'value'. They did this so that even when snow conditions are shit they already got paid
Man, I'm no doctor. Don't even play one on TV. But I'd think if your toenails are falling off at the end of every season and your feet are killing you, you may need different boots.
You know what, you're probably right.
Or at least a punch out on the existing boots. Go to a reputable boot fitter.
You should do that in the mega interconnected ski resorts of the French Alps like 3 Vallées, Paradiski, Espace Killy, Porte du Soleil, etc.
They are the largest ski resorts / areas in the world and you don't need to drive.
There, multiple resorts are connected via slopes and ski lifts so you can ski all day long without running the same slope twice.
Most of them are located in the Tarentaise Valley, also known as the Olympic valley.
The ski lifts there are out of this world, with double loading chairlifts, 8-seaters, underground funiculars, funitels, etc. Fast and high capacity so that skiers spend more time skiing than climbing back up the mountains.
Love the videos! Keep up the great work.
Thanks so much!
It’s like watching a real time review of the big Tahoe resorts! Kirkwood and Palisades will always have my heart
Another majestic video from Adam. I really love the breathtaking views despite having no interest in skiing 😀👍💯
I ski over 100 days every year for the last 12 years, I'm on day 60 this year and you definitely need a new pair of boots!! Time for an upgrade!! Cool video. I ski two resorts a few times a season every year, I start at Squaw and then go to Rose on the way home.
Awesome work man! Enjoy watching your content, keep it up! I am actually going skiing for the first time next month, so this video is a blessing.
North Tahoe is my favorite as well. Thank you for the updates on what the slopes look like and the name change. It’s been a while. Tips up!
Your videos are so basic and wholesome. No fluff, just good stuff.
I know it's not but this feels like such a backhanded compliment lol
@Caleo996
It’s an honest and sincere compliment about the high quality of Adam’s content. He doesn’t use any crazy effects or anything, he simply tells us a story and entertains us.
I appreciate that!
ski indy pass, it brings the soul of skiing and those old skiing vibes back!
I always go to Sierra at Tahoe. That resort might not have the biggest mountain but it sure has a variety of terrains. Thanks for posting this video.
I loved it! Will be back for sure!
I just went skiing a couple of weeks ago with my family, but your footage on the mountains already makes me miss it! Glad you had an enjoyable day, and I hope you got a day or two afterwards to actually ski, instead of just driving between the resorts!
Just did some actual skiing this weekend! This was admittedly a silly thing to do, but I've wanted to try for so long!
You should make a video about the Indy pass, it's kind of the anti-epic/ikon pass, and I think it brings back the soul of skiing that you mentioned.
This was awesome ! Thank you for sharing Adam.
If you skip the bigger resorts, you'll be able to hit up more resorts. If I were trying the same challenge, I would've skied: Donner Ski Ranch, Sugar Bowl, Soda Springs, Boreal, Tahoe Donner, Northstar, Diamond Peak, and then finish off with Mt Rose and/or Palisades/Alpine if you still had time. Of course, only two of those resorts are on either Epic or Ikon passes.
Kirkwood feels good every time I go!
I've wanted to try this in Tahoe so many times, I planned a route before and going to only the Epic and Ikon mountains isn't it. You start by the Donner Pass resorts with Soda Springs, then Boreal, go to Donner ski ranch, then Sugar Bowl, then to Tahoe Donnor, after that you hit Northstar (which at this point without traffic will take around an hour 15 to hit all of those), You can then hit Diamond Peak and Mt Rose to finish with 8 or instead of Northstar hit Palisades and Alpine Meadows and finish at Homewood (which will hopefully re-open in 2025-26 season). The point is pretty much avoid SLT (which is sad because I prefer the south side of the lake).
Cool video. Fun idea.
The backside of Northstar is amazing if you know where to go
And I’m starting at Sq- Palisades. Love the subtle hint to the past name that the resort will always be remember by
Didn't even know you have a car with all the vids on trains, buses, bikes, bart
Love to watch you. You are taking my mind off off the craziness of the world today. Good fir my mental health😊
Love to hear it!
A couple of years ago I skied 3 states and 4 days. Park City- Heavenly(2 states)-Park City- Breckenridge
Glad you located your camera & 5out of 6 it’s still greatttt 💯💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
I know that you are trying to knock out the 6 runs this weekend!! Feb 1st. Right Adam?
you should do another day trip, take the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner route to san diego and explore around 🤷🏽♂️
The LA to San Diego ride is so scenic!
Thanks for the tour of 5 resorts!
14:43 BRO PUT THE SAFTEY BARB DOWN!
A couple years ago I skied in 4 states in 3 days.
Park City to Heavenly to Park City then to Breckenridge
A little late on this comment but it’s been great to see you grow! I subbed around 10K, and not that much later you’re already about to hit 50k. Keep it up!
Thank you!
When summer comes around you should go up north to the Russian River to swim or up the coast on the public transportation
I definitely feel you with the "soul of skiing" comment. Nowadays if you wanna ski for a week it's about the same price to fly to Europe and ski there
Would be cool to try something like this in CO too!
I was loving the video, then saw ON3Ps and instantly subscribed
I don't know anything about skiing but I really enjoyed this! Thanks for sharing!
Nicely done
I grew up skiing northstar... there was no chance you were going to end up at the martis camp base. That being said the terrain over there is fantastic when it's open.
He would have had to have gotten so incredibly lost it would have been impressive.
Come do this in Utah! Just did Alta and Snowbird in one day and you could definitely do the other canyon resorts and PC if you wanted
And with Brighton doing night skiing it’s totally possible!
Done all 4 in one day before. Hardest part was finding the gate between Solitude and Brighton.
Video and editing is so smooth! You should go pro or something. :)
Ive done kirkwood and heavenly in the same day a few times. Left kirkwood around lunch time, stopped at mcdonalds and ate it on the gondola. That was back when parking was a little easier though.
A few comments: Nice choice in ski boots, I've been using mine for years. I love the Palisades/Squaw name joke! Isn't Ikon essentially Alterra, not Aspen? Finally, congratulations on so many in one day! Incredible.
Alterra was created as a joint venture between Aspen Ski Co's owners, the Crown family, and a private equity firm. It's like one step removed from basically being Aspen.
@@LonecloneProductions Oh, okay, thanks for the information! Makes sense.
The problem with getting to the top at Northstar is that Comstock and arrow are two of the busiest lines. But if you're looking for steep then just head to the top and head towards challenger next time. You can pretty much stay in that side all day and just take backside express back up.
I think you might be able to exceed your total by going to the non ikon/epic resorts. That would a cool video.
Hey Adam, can you make a video that it’s FREE to visit Golden Gate Bridge from Downtown SF by PresidiGO Shuttle? It’s two buses to get to the Golden Gate Bridge. The first bus starts at Beale & Mission in downtown and ends at the Presidio Transit Center. Then the second bus starts from Presidio Transit Center and goes to the Coastal Trail stop (the nearest stop from the Golden Gate Bridge Toll Plaza).
This is so good to know! When I do the 'directions" lookup on google search using the transit tab, it doesn't show me these bus routes. It only shows golden gate transit and muni. I wish the Presidio Go buses were in the google maps database.
respect for trying to do multiple resorts in one day. I ski alpine and find taking the base to base gondola time consuming. and yes, alpine is amazing!
I love Alpine. It's got a great atmosphere
Oh how I wish I had the courage to go skiing 😅
Man this video made me miss snowboarding, it's been 9 years since I last put those chunky boots on. Definitely more comfy than ski boots though ;)
Couldn't agree more!
RS with booster straps
Well done 👍🏼👍🏼
I've never raced, but my goodness racing boots are so good
Very impressive! Many people refer to Northstar as "Flatstar". Heavenly was nice skiing in both California and Nevada. I preferred the Nevada side for the terrain.
You should have hit Diamond Peak in Incline Village after Northstar on your way to Heavenly. Really enjoy your videos!
I wanted to finish by going uphill at diamond peak, but that's not allowed without a season pass now!
I think you needed better route selection. You drove past Mt Rose on your way to Heavenly. You also should consider starting on Donner Pass. You could probably get more than six with a different route selection if you didn’t mind skiing smaller resorts.
If you ever have enough time, make sure you come to the Alps. There are plenty of interconnected resorts with beautiful views, such as the Dolomiti Superski ski area, Italy. Probably cheaper than skiing in the US except for the cost of airfare from the US.
Seems like you're there on a weekday - not sure why you didn't just park Village View at Northstar. Castle Peak probably set you back an hour. Also, I wonder if traffic would've been better if you did reverse commute (K-wood first, Pali or NS last) - but can totally understand lines and wanting to start North Lake. Regardless, hats off for making the attempt! Would love to see a video on how to stealth camp Tahoe like you did - though I know the locals will rip you apart for that.
The lot was full. And it's actually encouraged to park/camp overnight in the town lot!
@@AdamDoesNotExist The one next to the Truckee train station?
Close. It's the lot next to the train tracks all the way East. There are signs indicating where to park!
I'm still a beginner. I still struggle with skiing into shaded areas, much less flat-light or whiteout conditions. I don't see how this is fun. I guess I'm only a bluebird skier. LOL
Get goggles with the magnetic pop out lenses and carry a clear lense with you.
You should come to beaver mountain Utah
Wow that was so much fun even at 65 plus. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
You need to put those boots in the passenger seat foot well, turn the heater to floor and high and heat them boots up before putting them on. It turns what used to be a nightmare into a dream...well maybe not that good, but much easier.
Also down riding gunbarrel at heavenly is so much faster than taking round a bout to the bottom. I think it took us nearly 30 minutes with all the traverses on round about.
If you didn't restrict yourself to epic and Icon passes I think you could have gotten to 8 or 9 resorts. Soda Springs, Sugar Bowl, Donner, Boreal, the other donner, Palisades, Alpine, Diamond Peak and Mt. Rose. That would only require 2 hours of driving.
Northstar was the worst to get to the top. It took us 45-50 minutes to ride the lift before we got a single turn in.
Lol you could have gone to Boreal they have night skiing.
Did you try mt rose and diamont peak?
I had the best time as an international student working in noth tahoe like 10 yeara ago. I laugh so hars when you said northsrae is flat. Because locals that prefer squaw (rip squaw valley) used to called it flatstar
You should check Big Bear Lake and Wright Wood
Great Video Ideas!
Came from the BART speedrun video, and this one made me think if you could speedrun ski resorts... probably would mean going on every lift?
Im glad you got the camera back!
Kirkwood is probably one of the best resprts in tahoe imo
Sounds like you need better boots my friend. Check out California ski company in Berkeley if you haven’t before. That place is always my go to
Where are your poles from?
You can take a string of buses from Sacramento to Sonora, and a shuttle from Sonora to dodge ridge, though it would take multiple days
Notably the shuttle is a public bus run by tuolumne county transit
Man im sad Sierra is on the ikon pass, but im sure they really needed them to stay open.
"my car is making some funny noises" Proceeds to turn up radio
Hey Adam. One of these days I'm gonna think to shoot you a message before the day of an event. Wondering if you got free tickets for the Rickey Henderson memorial? If not, I have an extra GA ticket I'd be happy to send you. 2/1/25 is the event at 1pm at the Oakland Arena.
i munched up my knee on the summit lift at Alpine.
Stellar my guy
So do you buy both passes for the season? If you were to recommend one which one should i get?
I think I would have driven to Alpine. I love the gondola, but it's 40 minutes each way, and I think you would have saved time driving, parking, then leaving from Alpine.
The B2B is 18 min. Riding it back to PT and getting off at top of KT and skiing down shaves some time off that 18 min.
I've skied all around lake Tahoe
When I go out my long day, I plan out where I'm going, Sometime taking a bus, you can't do most stuff in a day
We are the soul of skiing. No mega corporation can take it from us.
should've been until 6 PM, later in the season mount rose stays open until 6 pm.
This was fun. I don't ski, but do enjoy Tahoe. My friend who skis up there at Heavenly was not impressed when I shared the video. "What's the point he said," I said, and he's of my age, what, are you a millennial or something? Can't take the time to watch a 20-minute video? 🙄I said, because Adam is a You-Tubber. It's' what he does. Nobody is going to try this, I know, but, it's fun! Cheers 🥤
😮💨🥴🥴🥴 20 miles blow the speed limit is WILDDDD
We gotta press on...the subscribe button because these videos are great
He much did it cost total?
My Uncle manages the locker rooms in Palisades Tahoe
Diamond Peak would have been an easy sixth resort but you would have had to pay for a day lift.
Also Mount Rose and Slide Mountain aka Reno Ski Bowl could have technically been counted as two different resorts although now you’re really stretching the definition of a resort. But I get it, I still call it Squaw and Alpine.
Nice Melly
Do you account for all of that beautiful B-roll recording in your challenges?
Adam 4L🚠🎿🥳🥳🥳⛷️ 20:06 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Boreal is open until 8pm that could’ve been ur 6th resort
This former runner is in solidarity with you losing a toenail each season.
Kirkwood is so good
Service your vehicle Friend!!
THE MELANZANA HOODIE?
Is there intentionally a typo in the title? lol (missing the word “many)
What typo! jk jk. I just changed it to the typo version like 5 minutes ago. Thanks for pointing that out!
Some sort of victory is better than nothing
