Fantastic information. For all you corvette guys out there, the LS1 and LS6 (Z06) intake manifolds BOTH have a stock 75mm Throttle Body from the factory.
Just got a 98 Z28 with the Ls1. 2 owners before dumped a lot of money into it. Has long tube headers, magnaflow cats, 3 in flow master cat back, Yukon 4:10 LSD, strange axles, eibach lowering springs 1 half in, tick performance t56 6 spd, 04 Z06 Vette wheels, truck 85mm maf, ls6 intake, electronic exhaust cutouts and bunch of after market suspension like control arms and trailing arms. It supposedly has 368 whp and 410 foot pounds of torque, and best of all only cost me $6500 and the body and interior aren't trashed, though I live in Washington State and the poor t top just started to leak along with a tail light housing that's now leaking. Than you for this vid it saved me from replacing the throttle body unless I mod the engine more but for now I'm good.
I had a 30th anniversary 1997 Camaro with a LT1 and six speed. It was labeled a Z28, and had the new body with older style headlights. I always wished I could've held on to that car.
Some idiot from Tennessee, hit mine , same yr auto, lt4 intake 58 mm throttle body , headers , Eaton Posi 373’s shift kit, T -tops. I miss mine too man. I did end up with a white 14 SS 1-le though. Bought it new 75 ,000 still runs 👍
Impressive, you actually knew what you were talking about. I was wondering if you'd actually know when to upgrade, especially concerning turbo vs roots blower. You nailed it!
Very valuable info. I'll be swapping my Jeep Wrangler soon. Just trying to organize all the parts I need before I start ordering to make sure everything will with each other.
Bought your book. Great videos. I built a 350 5.7 Vortec awhile back and I've been thinking about building a LS so your knowledge is greatly appreciated.
Hit there. Love the videos, and I’ve been around for a long time. How can I get the updated LS swap guide? I signed up and got the first version free, but since then I get no response trying to get the latest version. I’m not trying to be cheap, but I thought the updates would still be free for early adopters. Thanks!
Worth noting that the throttle body itself has no real smarts, the pedal does not drive the throttle body directly but simply tells the ECU how much the driver is asking for, the ECU then determines what it wants to do for any given situation.
You skipped the LS9 TB, 90-mm but smooth bore, unlike the TBSS 90mm with a contoured bore. You also skipped any performance advantages of NA engines. The LS2/LS3 with a cam will typically gain 10-35HP with a 102mm throttle body and intake to fit.
In the before times, purveyors of fine camshafts used to label them 1/4, 1/2,3/4 and full RACE! I guess this is what he means. Seems to be making a comeback in some quarters too.
@ yeah that’s how they always sold them to the dumb people and now they call them stages. Totally ridiculous call up comp cams or Howard’s and ask them for a stage 5 can and they’ll laugh at you as they should.
You do an excellent job cutting through the BS. I love the infographic style layout too. Im glad you are out there doing your thing!

This information is genuinely invaluable, thank you for your service
As always great content and great info for us LS junkies

The interior and taillights were the newer style for ‘97

Please do one on the LT engines! The throttle bodies and manifolds!! Super glad I found your channel!

Awesome information brother!!! Thank you!!!
The LS2 had cathedral port heads. But it shows rectangle port in this video.. Hmmm 🤔
Good stuff!
Thank you
So, fwiw the LS1 in my ‘05 commodore one tonner came with the 8 wire DBW.

How much does your book talk about steam and vacuum ports?
Was running 10's in a T/A firebird ls2/3 with a ls3 intake and 92 TB but a 102 would have been faster.

Wtf is a stage 4or5 cam?

Btr cams have stages
LS guys are famous for running to big of cams and throttle bodies while also not having enough converter🤣
Don’t need a converter when you have a clutch pedal
@. Agreed, some of my toys have high stalls while others have manuals.
High stall equals more traction.
Good stuff!
