@@analt2164otachi and leatherback were specifically designed to Counter the last jeagers. Otachi had 3 limbs and acid spit to counter Typhoon and Cherno. Leatherback was built as a tank with an EMP to drop Eureka and to assist agains Cherno. Gypsy was already destroyed.
Fun fact about Cherno Alpha, this jaeger doesn't have an escape pod, so it takes massive stalinium balls to pilot this jaeger.

The fact that a Mark I single-handedly defended the Siberian wall for six whole years is definitely one of the most impressive feats in the series to date
and it's not just a feat for them. The designers of Cherno Alpha built a brick shithouse of a Jaeger, The pilots had to learn this monster inside and out so as to best use it, and the maintainers had to keep this thing mission ready _at all times_ for six years!
That means any maintenance it got was quick and only enough to keep it running. That meant an ever-changing list of limitations and unavailable capabilities, and this thing still won.
That thing was a _beast!_
@@bohba13It also defeated a 4 Cat. Kaiju by itself and the wall wasn't even damaged by their fight. And Cherno didn't even had real upgrades.[if I'm not mistaken it has flamethrowers] But for the most time It's just could smack the sh*t out of Kaijus and they did it for 6 years without even a chance of survivability in case of loosing, because Cherno was designed so that it didn't had any type of saving pods. But well, thanks to this since dude who did a drift with the Kaiju brain part, they got completely countered. Both Otachi and Leatherback were made to counter Cherno, Striker and Crimson. Both counter one specific Jäger but for Cherno they both had a counter, Leatherback had the weight and physical power to break the weaked armor, and for Otachi it was the acid. Those Kaiju creators really knew that in a 1 v 1 neither Otachi or Leatherback could win against Cherno, so they had to jump him with the power of 2 and also with a surprise attack.
Yeah, it is truly how Marshall Pentecost said. Cherno Alpha is really just a brutal war machine.

@@zetay-loul8824Basic extrapolation from running any piece of equipment non-stop like that. If it's the only thing protecting the Siberian wall, that means it can't have any time where it can't be deployed. it's a simple reality of matinance and readiness.
Cherno Alpha could have its own movie and it would be a worthy story.

I love how you really get the old soviet tank vibes from cherno alpha. It looks and feels as brutal as it should. It looks like it was made to decimate anything and that's what it does. The theme in the movie as well with the soviet style choir really gives off the message that you don't fuck with cherno alpha
Makes you think of line after line, column after column of T-72As and T-80s. Ready to rip through anything, yet rugged and reliable.

The T-90 is Russia's primary tank nowadays, I'm guessing in this universe Cherno Alpha is technically an evolution of the T-90, so it uses the same designation.

I’d like us all to collectively acknowledge the fact Otachi’s acid was designed specifically to counter Cherno, as it would be immune to Leatherback’s EMP. Now keep in mind, the acid didn’t kill Cherno, in fact it barely ate through the armour. The reactor remained unharmed until Leatherback stepped in.
Unlike every other Jaeger to date, it took TWO Kaiju to put down the last of the Mark Ones.
The precrusors kinda see what they doin and see whate kinda tech vodoo we do so like, to counter newer electric powered jagers. they made Leatherback. Leaderbacks design was meant for a heavy breakthrough.
I always thought it was the plot which killed Cherno and Crimson, the movie gave them legendary status only to use them like cannon fodder. Now they do feel indeed legendary, especially Cherno
And Otachi has a tail that can easily destroy Typhoon "little" head

Cherno Alpha is a Generation 1 jeager, the oldest possible
Cherno defended the Siberian wall for six years without a singular breach.
Cherno Alpha took on a category 4 kaiju by itself and won. Meanwhile, Gipsy Danger was completely ravaged by a category 3.

gypse is prob very fragile, also cherno alpha is pure killer, the old gipsy pilots that one died on knife are stupids, cherno alpha pilots are dumbass, also cherno just died bc got teamed
True, especially when cherno smashed a kaiju with an Iceberg(idk if its cannon tho)
But ig gipsy wasn't as powerful as cherno, since cherno has strength, durability, weapons(tesla fists, flamethrowers), while gipsy was weak and only depended on plasma cannon, it's opponent was Knifehead(biggest Cat 3 that ever existed). Worst matchup 🍿💀
@@katsukinoharu7334 Not really? Yamarashi was one of the biggest Cat III Kaijus Gypsy Danger fought and they won. The only problem the Becket brothers had with Knifehead is that it was smart, it was the first instance of a Kaiju that showed its intelligence. Plus the Becket brother have only been fighting Kaijus for 4 years (They graduated Academy around 2016, just two years after the Jaeger program started). It was just happenstance that the brothers met the FIRST intelligent Kaiju.
@@VictorrineAurum nah I don't think yamarashi was the biggest one in height, it sure was heavier than knifehead (2500 t - 2370 t). But in the intro of Pacific Rim, i.e after the fight with Yamarashi, Raleigh did say it was a Cat III and the biggest one yet, code name: Knifehead.
Gipsy danger took on 2 category 4 back to back.
During the final battle he took on another category 4, killed him with one arm and then went to take on a category 5 with one arm still.
So you should probably dont talk without knowing.
Fun fact. Cherno Alpha is named after the evil god of the Baltic Slavs, Chernobog, who personifies misfortune. That is, Cherno brings misfortune to his enemies.

It's like watching a WW2 tank keeping up with modern tanks no problem in today's warfare.
Well, I don't wanna be nerd, but WW2 tanks would still clap modern tanks in specific circumstances. Especially German "Tiger" and Soviet T-34
@@ilyayurkin6999 Don't worry you're not being a nerd. Because no tank from the second world war could stand up to modern tanks. The only situation in which they could, is if the modern tank was just say there not doing anything and the world war two tank drove up next to it and shot it in the side. And even then that would only work against some tanks as others, mainly Russian, have ERA protection on their sides that would protect against the shell.
But in a real combat scenario, modern tanks would kill any world war two tank before it could even realize it was engaged in a fight. Even one of the worst tanks in current service, the T-62M Model 2022 could easily defeat every single tank ever produced in world war two. Simply due to the fact it has a thermal optic. And APFSDS shells could easily go through all tanks that were in service in the second world war. The APFSDS from the most modern tanks, like the T-90M, Leopard 2A7, M1A2 SepV4, or even Challenger 2, could easily pass through several MAUS tanks in a row.
It's simply not a competition.

@DiededFan84628 damn, I didn't know about that. But I can see why he wasn't able to use these weapons tho. Firstly, because they were in the water which would have reduced the effectiveness of the flamethrower. Secondly, because of risk of friendly fire as Crimson Typhoon was getting jumped by Otachi in close combat. And finally, because the situation turned into a two vs one when Leatherback suddenly showed up and messed up it's balance.

Spent 6 years defending the Siberian coast singlehandedly and survived, it took TWO of the most powerful Kaiju's to ever be used to take down the metal beast, people say that the movie nerfed Cherno, but the fact that it survived this long and needed to be tag teamed just shows that it still was a monster of steel. Cherno may aswell have been a prop fighter in a world of jets, and it STILL kicked ass to the very end.
Yeah that's correct. People still think Cherno Alpha was weak in the movie, but they forgot that it takes 2 SPECIAL BUILD CAT 4 KAIJU and attack the same time just to kill Cherno.

You can *FEEL* the weight of the Jaegers in this movie. Even after a decade it's a favorite among the fans. Respect.

Honestly, I really like how they did all the Yeagers.
Cherno Alpha. Clunky and hits like a truck, just like most Gen 1s
Gypsy Danger. Still a Tank, but moves much more fluidly. Feels like a Knight or Samurai, fused with a Fighter Jet like an F-14
Crimson Typhoon. Created in the Peak of Yeagers, before the downfall and relegation of the program. It shows the least advancement between generations, but also has the most unique design, showing that at this point, they were experimenting.
Striker Eureka. The First and Last 5th Gen Yeager during the first Kaiju War. By far, the biggest leap in Technology. Much like a Eureka moment, this Yeager was by far the most fluid, feeling much more human, and thus, had the advantage in combat as opposed to other Yeagers. It set the grounds for future improvements on older Yeagers, or complete redesigns, like Gypsy Avenger.

@@hyper14102 they straight up walked down into the water then rose up as if there was not a hugs gap between them and the ocean floor heck the attacking kauju were able to sub merge them selves in the water that the jagers were standing on and when knife was hit and hid under the water we saw there was no land under him yet gipsy was walking on something

I know that feeling russian vehicles look big and clunky slow but Powerful russian tanks in ww2 and after had especially distinct looks they look outdated with outdated systems but effective much like how cherno is shown

technically it did, in the sequel. They repurposed Cherno Alpha in a newer jager. Specifically the armour on his head to be Shoulder armour.

They would’ve won the battle, but they didn’t anticipate gypsy danger would be there as they thought she was out of commission. They weren’t ready and they weren’t able to anticipate or analyze how they could defeat gypsy danger.

To defeat Grandpa Cherno, the two strongest Category 4 Kaijus had to attack together using acid specially developed against him. Moreover, the acid did not damage it much, just the pilots were very taken aback by this. She barely ate through the armor
fun fact - Cherno Alpha is Russian Jaeger. The sight of this Jaeger literally screams: "Give up, or you're fucked."

They died because the scientist did the connection so the alien knew how to counter all jaeger but not gipsy, because gipsy not operational that time.(thats what i thought)
As Del Toro explained in the directors commentary - those are the best of the best and they had to lost brutally to show how serious those Kaiju were.

You see, later Jaegers were designed to be effective, all-rounded, even somewhat comfortable for it's pilots. They have adapted to many situations (have different weapons etc)
But this one, in his own design answers the only reason it was made for: *to RIP and TEAR, until it's done.*

A documentary styled movie about Cherno alpha or crimson typhoon detailing their multiple Kaiju encounters and ultimately leading up to the final battle in Hong Kong would be cool
Pacific Rim is one of those movies that is mostly forgotten but can be watched over and over. The cast was outstanding, special effects were perfect and the plot was executed wonderfully.
Cherno Alpha is probably my favorite Jaeger. Ive always loved super heavily armored things. Thing looks like a fucking beast

One of my favorite things about jaegers is that they can only be piloted by people with a deep connection to eachother.
Cherno alpha: pilots are a married couple
Crimson typhoon: pilots are triplets
Stryker Eureka: pilots are a father and son
Gipsy danger: original pilots were twins, the next pilots were connected by having similar trauma
That thing was a damn fortress. The Kaiju got lucky by getting acid spit.

The best part about this Yeager is the look and function of its aggressiveness. They really made this Yeager feel like a brute. a force to be reckoned with, just like in the comics depicted it to be.

The pilots of Cherno Alpha are total badasses. Mako was about to lose control and make Gipsy fire the plasma cannon and the pilots of Cherno were just standing in front of the cannon, unfazed
I wish movie companies put as much work into movies nowadays as they did for pacific rim one. The movies would be so much better
I think my favourite thing about Pacific rim was the fact that while everything was a little bit fanciful it had a certain level of believability to it where you can honestly believe that a Jaeger like cherno alpha would remain in service until the end

cherno alpha and crimson typhoon were so awesome, but sadly got the side character treatment and ended up getting jumped by 2 kaiju
They died because the scientist did the connection so the alien knew how to counter all jaeger but not gipsy, because gipsy not operational that time.(thats what i thought)
