Man, too bad I was not along to enjoy that day. Nice boats. Thanks for posting.

That's a "Navigator" designed by John Welsford. A versatile and capable boat, well loved by its owner.

Interesting loose footed reefed main on the navigator. I've chased one around Puget Sound a few times and I've never seen him do that when reduced.

How is sailing in those waters? Looking for a new home and a marina for our Hunter 310. We like calm cruising. Does the southern Chesapeake have a decent sailing season? Does it get crazy or stay manageable?

Southern Chesapeake is generally steady and peaceful except in storms. Spring, Summer, and Fall. Not as much wind in the late Summer, and very hot. Mostly have to watch for small popup thunderstorms in the afternoon. Just have to keep an eye on the forecast as you normally would, and pick your window. Easier to stay clear of the shipping channel where the Bay is wider. Lot of deep rivers to explore. But not as crowded with boats as the northern Bay. Lots of marinas and sailboats around Deltaville area.

Looks so fun, and I guess more safe, to sail in s small group like this. Beautiful boats! Are you on the WoodenBoat Forum?

Yes, am on both the FB forum and the one on the WoodenBoat site. Much safer to sail in company. Lets you take chances that wouldn't be prudent otherwise.
