As a city sewer dog myself I will say that wastewater collection workers are really under appreciated. Nobody sees us, nobody one knows we exist. The only time anyone really thinks about us or knows we exist is when they have a back up. Then it’s it’s our fault or so they think. In my city 98% of our calls are problems on property. Honestly I prefer going unseen, that just means we are doing our jobs correctly and efficiently.

Running up stream way to fast, should be running out about a foot to 1.5 feet/sec or slow enough where you aren't out running your water flow, clean on the way out. and then you could pull back a little bit quicker...cleans the pipe much more effectively. Also the upstream manhole should be open the full duration of time for best flow when you're pulling back and you'll minimize blowing up homeowners toilets and service lines.

Like the way , justice for SSR became a trend, justice for George Floyd became a trend, spamming the word "BINOD" for fun became a trend, can we make justice for Sewer workers in India also trend. Supreme court had given its decision in 2014 only to fully mechanise manhole/sewage cleaning but still India faces it and nobody is talking about it. I just watched a documentary of schoopwoop unscripted on sewage workers life and that's why i came here to compare how it's done in other countries. We all Indians really need to join together and make this a trend till they don't get their rights.
Over more than 1200 die every year in this job. Isn't it inhuman
