its generally for upshifts. you can use it for downshift in a scenario where you are accelerating up a hill in 4th 5th or sixth and want to downshift to accelerate up the hill, but not for downshifts when slowing down coming into a corner or to a stop
the downshift works but its not an ideal feature, as in the feature only really works if your in say 6th 5th or 4th and want to downshift under throttle it works ok, but not really for hard deceleration down shifting due to no auto blip to match the rpm.. otherwise i use it pretty much every time i ride and its great, only thing i had to do was fine tune the delay from 80ms to about 100ms as my fz1 is a little notchy on shifting and would occasionally miss shift but since raising the shift delay its been working spot on, i love using it on fast take offs the shift is superfast and even using it on mild takeoffs you don't need to be full throttle or rev it right out, as long as you shift over say 3000rpm with medium throttle its still fast and smooth shifts
Very nice video! I think I’m gonna buy this quick shifter setup. I like your mirrors, what did you use to plug the mounting holes from the old mirrors? I can’t find any online.
the original fairing mount mirrors, i just cut a oval shape into a piece of old fairing plastic painted them and used small black round head bolts to bolt them through the fairing and bracket

they are aftermarket bars off ebay, they are very close to the original bars just slightly less pull back. the original bars were bent from a car knocking it over and they were the closest i could find to original without paying oem yamaha prices.
Thanks for uploading this, I am thinking of fitting a quickshift to my gen 1 FZS1000.
Sounds good mate, must feel awesome
Nice video, tks for taking the time and effort to up load this.

Hey, if you don't mind me asking, what handlebars are those?

Don't waste your money on healtech shift
why is it shit? ive had this quick shift on 3 different bikes now and no issue. i will say its moderately overprice
