I sure you're Father is proud. My Father built a layout in our basement in 1960, an American Flyer. While I was too young to operate it, I enjoyed watching my Dad and Uncle running it. I am now 68 and starting an N scale layout. Love you tribute to your Dad. Well done indeed. 🚆
Rarely do I comment on social platforms of any type…yours my friend deserves one. Wonderful story and background on this video. Mad respect and admiration.
Amazing story and beautiful layout. So happy to hear you could finish the layout for your dad. A touching tribute to carry on his passion and find passion in it yourself.
I am a dad too, i am building a small layout in N gauge to in the same measure of yours. With a diference, i start 27 years ago a big H0 layout. But life wanted tha i have a divorce and the layout came to an end. It was made to my son and...Now I Will build it in N for myself. Congratlulations for you your Dad and the soundtrack :)
Hi Mark, really moved by your story. The more videos you do the better they'll become. You'll see. I think you are undertaking a great project and I'm sure your Dad will appreciate seeing the layout 'living'. I will look forward to hearing more. Cheers, Jim L Take care, keep safe
hi mark your layout and the reason for building it are lovely. ive been looking for inspiration to do my own layout and if you dont mind i would like to base my layout on yours, with some slight changes.
Hi Gillian, and thank you. And of course I don't mind you basing your own layout on this one, it really is an honor that you want to do that. Just watch out for those curves though, they can get a bit tight. Good luck and enjoy.
Is this really 4ft by 2ft.ive got a 4ft by 2ft in my dining room but it appears much bigger than mine.im really sorry about your dad, it's a cruel disease .I hope he and your family are coping OK.my gran had it,and it proved very difficult but we all loved her and chipped in to help.
Thank you, and yes it really is only 4ft x 2ft, the curves were tight though but worked. Sorry to hear about your gran, it truly is a cruel disease. Merry Christmas and all the best for 2024.
Hi Justin, sorry for the late response. I made the curves by eye, didn't use anything to set them at the right radius, just needed to get them to fit. Trains run ok but something like a 9F struggles and sometimes derails.

Best to you.
20 years after my dad passed away, I started model trains myself and wish I had kept at the very least one wagon from his layout :(
