    The careful, methodical way of explaining all the steps is ideal. The narration gives you time to contemplate each step and understand it. Well done!

    With the hoses in the correct locations is there anything wrong with having your regulator set up 180° from the way it's shown here? I have a DIN regulator but because I mostly do recreational diving I have an adapter and that whole setup is extra long because of the adapter and I'm always hitting the back of my head on it so I've swapped the hoses and turned it around so the tank valve is near the back of my head. This is totally backwards to how most people do it and I'm just wondering if there's anything fundamentally wrong with it I don't see that there is

      @ScubaDivingTips  3 года назад

      Hi James, no it shouldn't matter. Your First stage works also upside down. It usually depends on the brand of your regulator, your BCD type, your own body etc.
      For me it is more comfortable having the first stage up. So I just changed the hoses around.
      But alway's check first with you manufacturer if it is ok with your type of regulator, just to make sure you are safe.
      Have a good day buddy!

      Hi Herman,
      A lot of places will rent you dive equipment in the beginning, but the equipment is very basic and used by many before you.
      We do recommend your own equipment. It will be more comfortable, you know it all, more hygienic and you just look cooler :)
      It all depends a bit on your budget. But if you don't have to much money, then just start with at least a mask, snorkel and maybe fins. If you can invest more then the Regulator and BCD.
      Please have a look at these items that I love:
      🥽 Scuba Pro Mask: amzn.to/2W9uHaq
      🤙 Scuba Pro Glide BCD: amzn.to/3ft6qnd
      ✅ Scuba Pro MK 25 Regulator: amzn.to/2zhk38A
      👕 Scuba Pro Rash Guard: amzn.to/2A7VRG5
      🏊‍♂️ Scuba Pro Jet Sport Fins: amzn.to/2LaEiaF
      I also like this mask: amzn.to/2ZeRnpS
      But you can always go for different models of course!

    • @ScubaDivingTips
      @ScubaDivingTips  4 года назад +1

      Hi Herman,
      Yes a 10 year old can start the PADI Open Water Diver Course and trust me he or she will love it!!
      They use the same dive equipment as us, just smaller sizes
      Your dive shop should have smaller sizes for a kid to rent or you can purchase it.

    Well, As long as scuba divers wear a regulator mouthpiece in their mouth, that's what got me interested in scuba diving.

    I’ve never seen advice to place an air tank on its side for any reason. Those are heavy enough to break toes, especially if you’re setting up your gear on a dive boat on the way to a site with the stern jiggling about.

    • @andre2679
      @andre2679 2 года назад

      Very true

    • @ScubaDivingTips
      @ScubaDivingTips  2 года назад +2

      Placing it on it's side will prevent the tank from accidentally falling over and hurting someone or their equipment.
      On the boat we recommend to use scuba tank rack holders to prevent tanks from falling over.

      None of this? So you don’t connect your 1st stage to your tank? Interesting.

      @jonnieinbangkok 2 года назад +1

      @James Smith Can't say that I do...20 years and 700 fills and never a bad one. It's not likely one can tell much about a tank's air quality by taking a couple breaths from the tank. Choosing a quality dive operator is much more important 👌
