absolutely brilliant, informative videos mate. my FZ6 is gleaming as it is, but she will be even better now. Taking pride in your possessions is the way forward!
Hi and thanks for your kind words. It actually took us 1 month to film, due to weather (filmed in January) and just the amount of total filth! It was edited using Final Cut Pro and we did drink an awful lot of tea, just off camera! Regards Nick Hine
Hi Don't scour cosmetic chrome, it will damage the chrome and it will rust. I only ever scour un-laquered alloy and hard chroms finishes like fork stanchions, and then only if I need to. Hope this helps and good luck, Nick
Quick question for you Nick. If I use a nylon scourer and metal polish on my chrome headlight bezel, will it give it that nice satin look? Or will it just scratch the chrome all up and look bad?
Ok, thanks for the advice. I'm glad I didn't just decide to go ahead with it. I just wish there was something I could do to get rid of it. Chrome wasn't meant for my bike.
can i use engine degreaser, orginally meant for cars, to clean engine area and chain? or should i use kerosene (dont know where to get, and heard it can cause cancer..) THANKS, cheers mate!
Nick- I watch you at work and you make me feel ill with the way you rush around that bike- not even a cup of tea in sight!(my wife now expects my bikes to be cleaned in 5x5minutes)- I love the videos!- what voice over and editing software are you using- its slick..very slick.
Car degreasers are usually OK on your engine area but I wouldn't use them on your chain if it's got O-rings. Use WD40 or Parafin (you can get parafin from camping supply places) to clean your chain. I've no idea about Kerosene causing cancer, but it seems unlikely as WD40 is based on Kerosene and isn't renowned for killing people! Unless you drink it of course. Cheers Nick Hine
You are a real pro.
My bike got cleaned and is shining most of the time.
Thanks.

i'm not a chrome lover either, you could always get it black chromed or painted i suppose?
cheers for your feedback,
Nick

The FZR will get this treatment in the next few days and maybe the Jinny will even get it eventually. Cheers for posting
Great video I love all your tips, and will be using them when I pull my bike out in the spring.:)

great job and beautiful bike!!!!
I'm in the US so I don't get the same products you do besides WD 40.
What's a good oil/water degreaser that's available here?

i notice my belly fairing on 07 zx10r must take off separately. not in one unit.
It`s not that important if the tiny bit of paint gets on the tyres as you will replace them soon enough anyway
good job I'll use you tips thanks tony
