The 66 and 67 chevelles have that menacing "Go ahead, make my day" look, and in 1970 with its " I may be drop-dead gorgeous but I can still kick your a$$" look, it made the chevelle the undisputed king of american muscle.
Verrryyyyy nicely done Chevelle. Must be quite a rush to be moving that fast in such a short amount of time. My dad has a '67 also, but it has a long way to go compared to what you've done with yours. Excellent job. Thanks for posting this.
Yes, at the point that I did the Chevelle I wasn't a welder and Danny did all of the fabrication work and also drove the car most of the time. Danny is very talented.
I had a 67 Granada gold with the hated gold interior like this! Bought new in Norfolk, VA and sold in 1970 in Newport News to buy first house. Always wondered if it has survived.....could it be?
The original cam was 244/244 @ 0.622" - 110, then 257/265 @ 0.652" - 114 (nitrous grind), then 262/270 @ 0.714" - 114 and finally 290/300 @ 0.900" - 110 which was too much in the end ...
We were playing around with a 3 stage nitrous system and getting a progressive ramp off the line was a bit hit or miss - sometimes the tires and track would take more nitrous, earlier, and other times we would have to delay the initial hit and slow down the ramp.
+banshee100hp I don't remember but you can back calculate from the following: 29" tires, 3 speed TH400, roughly 7,500rpm at 160mph = 4.11s in a Williams Pro 3rd member with ladder bars.
What size tire did you run in this video? Did you have to make any modifications to fit thoes bad boys under that beast? Got a 67 of my own just lookin for some advice thank you!
We were running in a super street class that required DOT drag radials with no more than a 11" wide tire (measured after the race - and we got nailed once with an 11" tire that grew to 11.5" so ended up with 10" tires from then on). I didn't want to tub it so that was fine with me. We used 28" Hoosiers and they worked out pretty well. With full slicks we go much better 60' times and ran 9.0s vs 9.30s with the DOT tires.
What exactly do you mean by emissions legal ? You see DMV at least on the east coast goe's by what ever emissions standards were applicable for the model year of the car your driving hence you pass or fail via the model year requirement OK now what were the emission requirements for the 67 chevy model year in California in 1967 ???? THERE WERE NONE ! But really sweet 67 anyway even with the bogus emissions statement !
+Shane Smith Yes, that car needed much bigger tires - even at the top of the track it was impossible to put all of the power down to the track - it was sliding pretty much all the way down the track even with the nitrous backed off. But we wanted to run 'street tires' ...
One of the sweetest '67 Chevelles I ever seen.
Check out the white with black top 67 4 sp Chevelle at pump gas drags it's just crazy fast ...

67 chevelle is the greatest car ever made ,I love them,I use to have one back in the 80s wish I would have kept it.
This what made me get my RC drag body, I remember watching this so long ago. I thought it was grey back then. The first drag video I watched.
Nice job! Hooks hard and goes straight....I like it!!
Now thats one Bad Ass Chevelle,, I have one the same color and runs 7:41 in 1/8.. love that sound.....

I remember this car racing at mission, great chevelle.
No replacement for displacement! Sounds great !
Amazing Chevelle! Love it!
Thank you so much!
To me, this is what drag racing is all about. A Vintage 67, big block motor and a well build back half to keep her going straight.
Thanks for the compliment!
That chevy is sick!
Nice video!
Mean lookin Chevelle.
That's nuts in a good way
I think built by Danny at pro gas nice work as always

Rippin loud.
Sweet...
Love the videos...I need better quality ones. I see you are running Hoosiers. What size? Did you make any modifications for clearance, etc?
bad ass!
I love it..
What size headers you running?
2-1/8" - we chose to keep the whole exhaust system 'small' - 3" Borla mufflers (x4), etc.
😎🤘☠️
Derek which Cam were you running in that?
The original cam was 244/244 @ 0.622" - 110, then 257/265 @ 0.652" - 114 (nitrous grind), then 262/270 @ 0.714" - 114 and finally 290/300 @ 0.900" - 110 which was too much in the end ...
@@derekspratt Thanks Derek
fast
Are you guys forced to run mufflers at that track ? And you have one screaming chevy ..
Is he spinning the tires because he had a bit of an agressive ramp on the nitrous? Pardon if I am mistaken. Badass car

@@derekspratt Thank you for the reply. Awesome car.
What is your rear gear that your running? I'm building one now procharger set up. Thank you!

damn!
How much compression
12:1 - still streetable though as the big 288 cams bleed off compression at low rpms
Get rid of those side exits!..... your gonna put it into the wall Cochise!
That engine REALLY passes emissions? I assume for a 67 vehicle -- that is some serious power-- it that a 2 speed or 3 speed?
come on, seriously? these cars aren't recuired to do emission tests
BWAHAHAHAHA
Fast
looks like when u change the pill it gets a little sideways...lol...nice yo....
Sounds like it needs lower gears
Check out the vids I have up of my 67! Yours is really nice by the way!
this is the best porn on the net
That bitch was moving you should put a bigger tire on it though still a nasty Chevelle in general
+Shane Smith Yes, that car needed much bigger tires - even at the top of the track it was impossible to put all of the power down to the track - it was sliding pretty much all the way down the track even with the nitrous backed off. But we wanted to run 'street tires' ...
sexy.
Dude cant drive!
