- This is an easy DIY tutorial on how to paint using an ombre technique. There will be easy step by step follow along instructions, that show you exactly how to paint ombre. By the end of this video, you’ll be an expert at ombre painting. It’s fun and easy! Everything I use will be listed below in the “Supply List”

I salvaged a full length mirror 🪞 QVC jewelry cabinet that someone had already painted the mirror frame white, and I'm doing a teal ombre pallete over it before I give it to my niece as a Christmas present.
Dad already put the mounting screws on the wall. The real fun will be hanging it on the wall while she's distracted with other Christmas presents. 😅

SO HAPPY to have found your channel. Greetings from Northern, MICHIGAN...bbrrrrr is it COLD here today. Two quick question as I haven't been able to read all comments (yet) but if you don't use Gesso ? could you use just a white acrylic paint for the base? Second, do you use some type of a sealer on finished projects. Thanks...LOVE colors you used too!!
Hi Jo! I'm so happy you found me as well. and happy you enjoyed this video! I'm sorry you're freezing. It's so pretty here in Las Vegas. But that means scorching temperatures 🔥 are just around the corner...ugh.... I really hate the heat we get here. Yes, you can use white paint to prime your canvas. Gesso is better because it's thicker. But white paint should work just as well. I have a great product for you to seal your work. I use it for everything. It's Polyvine heavy duty wood varnish. Don't let the word wood fool you. You can use this product on anything. I use it for canvases, ceramic, and glass as well as wood. You can also use this as a decoupage glue instead of mod podge. It works sooo much better and you use must less because it's more effective. This is a superior product. I think you'll like it just as much as I do. I'll leave you a link below so you can find it. Hi there! I'm so glad you enjoyed this tutorial. Ombre blends best when using similar colors that range slightly from dark to light. Red, white and blue may give you a few challenges. They will be a little difficult to blend because they are completely different colors. When you blend the blue and red you may end up with purple and blending the red and white may give you pink. But I say go for it and do some experimenting on a piece of paper and see what happens. Don't try it on your project until you know what to expect. Let me know how it turns out. if i wanted to paint on a 1mx1m scale surface and used a much larger sponge, do you think the texture and size of the sponge would be noticeable in comparison to this tutorial which uses a much smaller canvas and sponge? The textures look seamless here, im hoping with a larger, more aerated sponge that it wont change. thanks :)
Hi there, Yes the size holes in the sponge will definitely make a difference. You can still do it, but it will be more work to accomplish a seamless look with a larger more aerated sponge. Could that canvas after you painted it be sprayed with some Decoupage, and then apply a VINYL STECIL to it. I have something in mind and would love to try it. Flo
