I can’t speak to deep skin but I have tan skin and the bronze is honestly one of the most perfect palettes for me, I love it! And the subtle differences in the warm tones make a little more difference for me too I think
It really was 2016 wasn’t it! 2016-2018 feels like a fever dream. Things started to step back in 2019… and then 2020 came and it was like a cold splash in the face. Now the little Alphas and baby Zs are having their obsession moment except its skincare. The rabid 12yo after Drunk Elephant is ridiculous. I don’t have just one palette, but I have taken the approach of having one working palette & a few itty bitty mini palettes for travel. Well, except for Sultry. She will remain intact until the end of time or I pan every shade I enjoy. I’ve de-potted multiple palettes… sometimes just popping out 1 or 2 shades and tossing the rest since everything I own now is too old to pass on to anyone else. The only other palette I can’t bring myself to tear apart is the Too Faced Natural Love palette. No one wanted it when it came out but it spoke to me. Neutral and cool nudes when everyone was lusting after orangey nudes. I don’t use a fair chunk of the palette… either too light or too dark… but visually as a whole, it’s so dang pretty!
WOW! Tested 50 and decluttered 20! That’s over 1/3! That’s impressive. I’m looking forward to Nabla & NARS. I think they’ll be some of your toughest decisions. Something about N I guess.

I have a few Natasha Denona palettes (I think I have 11 in my collection of too many palettes, and also used to have another one that I gave to my sister). I love them, but I rarely use them because I just can't be bothered with palettes at the moment, and when I do use a palette, I'm focusing on my UD Naked 3 that I'm planning on retiring at the end of the year. Most days, I use a blush in my crease and a single shadow on my lid because it's quick and easy and I get lots of compliments.
I need to do this for every category. I don’t have a large collection by any means but far too big for someone who only wears makeup consistently on vacation since I rarely leave the house anymore. I just don’t know how to get myself to pare down from 12 blushes to the like 2 I should have and oh boy the highlighters… for my least favorite category I sure have too many. Lip products are the hardest. I got really good and decluttered a TON of liquid lipsticks because they’d gone off or were honestly, too uncomfortable to be worth it… but now I’ve discovered all sorts of beautiful tinted lip balms and lovely formulas of lip gloss that I now have almost as many of those products as I did liquid lips at their peak. And that doesn’t even include the bullet lipsticks. I’m currently panning my fav NARS audacious lipstick. There’s a $12 Sephora Lipstories dupe I also own that feels just as lovely so I figure I better get my money out of the pricy one. You inspire me. Now I just have to take decluttering to my art supplies. 😅

I like ND but where they often misses for me two things: first what you talked about with having some many of the same shimmer shades. They look quite dull on the eyes. And second, she always have too litle variation with the mattes. Its like a super pale but still not a setting the eyelid typ one I dont know would show up on anyone to be honest, maybe one or two softer shades and then often jumps straight to a super dark shade. I fine with having just browns as the mattes, but maybe ad some different undertones.
I just tossed a super duper old PUR eyeshadow quit yesterday……that little silver metal case with the raised lettering. Anyone remember that? It was basically dusty rose with a vanilla shade…the darkest shade felt like sandpaper when I swatched it 😂
I very much agree her Nude palette is more cool toned. It's pretty to look at, but it's definitely not one I gravitate to. I haven't seen it in person, but I wonder if her Warm palette is more neutral.
I'm curious if you have any directional recommendations/brands for a lighter colored palette for someone who's marginally paler that you. I have trouble with my colors coming off quite clown-like because I'm so pale, and I"d really love to find a palette that's full of twinkly/shimmery lights in a variety of colors that are going to look soft rather than vampy on me. Fully open to anyone else who knows of any too, and I"m so into multi-use as I often use blush/highlighter on my eyes :)
I am conflicted with ND as a brand. Natasha herself seems a bit iffy in my opinion. This new "purple" palette is a pain in the ass in different ways. I've wanted to buy just even a small palette, but it's like you need to swatch everything in person to decide because too much looks the same or you have to see how the tones actually look on your skin. I'm pale olive and picky as all hell 😂😂 Happy to watch this video! Anything shiny and sparkly looks delicious 🤣
Glad someone said this ND as a person has been super iffy. Who remember early days of Nd when she went off Jeffery Star style on a young creator who gave her first palette a bad / not great review. It was on Twitter. Ughhh.
Why don't you just keep the colours you like from each palette and build your own ND colourstory in one palette? The i need a nude and bronze palettes both have removable pans, just sort out the too dark and redundant ones. I'd love to see your edit of the eyeshadows.

The shade Bliss in the Bronze palette is so underrated. I use it to top almost every look i do with that palette and it adds the most stunning shift!

I always use only 2-3 shades in those big palettes. I now prefer 4-5 quad mini palette that I know I will use fully :)
