The best Western ever made, plus Sons of the Pioneers you can't get any better.!!!!
I love this movie. I have watched it so many times.
..the greatest western ever made..... so full of character, strength and grit...
One of the best ever!! Movie, actors and director... The whole crew seamed to work well together! Excellent!!
Wow, I like this behind the scenes. This song written by Stan Jones. He also wrote I Left My Love, for The Horse Soldiers, also just finished the book " The Life of Stan Jones" the singing Ranger. He wrote lots of song for movies, and TV. I had to have tissues at the end of the book. Such a wonderful, handsome, talented man. Wish I could have met him. Ghost Riders In The Sky, my all time favorite song. I have listened to tons of different recordings through the years. Wow!
Brilliantly performed. Brilliant film. Watched it so many times. Ward Bond was brilliant. He bought humour to the film. Outstanding performances from actors and actresses. I always thought that Martha had a crush on Heathan. The way she looks at him and follows his every move 👏👍🙋♂️

This is awesome. Thanks for putting this together.
Best western ever made.
One of the best westerns ever made. The Searchers. Shane. and High Noon.
rm B Another one is Tombstone. It's really great. The music also catchs the moods.
Searchers YES Shane O.K. High Noon is not even close.
3 great picks, Tombstone right up there as well
Anyone else notice Ken Curtis, the Sons of Pioneers singer and later Festus of Gunsmoke fame, at left of frame at 00:58?
Festus Haggen
Nice photos of a classic movie. Loved the one with the guy carrying the prop horse. Have never seen most of these before. Thanks.
What is a "prop horse" for?
my favourite western after The Wild Bunch. William Holden and John Wayne : two of a kind.
Right-on ..dude
John Ford fun facts; he lost his eye while in the navy at Midway island under attack by the IJN. Wayne cried at his funeral
The Searchers. High Noon. Jeremiah Johnson The three best in that order.
Wayne looks as if he was always happy on this set. But I think 'The Quiet Man' was just as much an equal collaboration between Wayne and Ford. One of the most charming movies to ever come out of Hollywood.
Sad ..they had no clue the smokes they thought were cool actually cut their lives short..gotdam cigarrettes..
I love this soo much . Ill play this fo ever go out to idaho desert watch red sunset hv a nip' cheers. Sit in my truck kp playn this 😊

Ah! Those "halcyon days"... -- I HAD ARRIVED (*~_~*)! ~Jeffrey Hunter, July 5, 2019
John Ford!!!!!
FOREVER my favorite all time western, perhaps my all time favorite MOVIE of any sort. Have read the novel by Alan Le May two or three times, never really fancying it for reasons at first so hard to understand. Well NOW i THINK I have caught on and it was the amazing brilliance of John Ford and his own screenplay specialist, Frank Nugent, was it? The amazing COMIC RELIEF that saves the Movie from the unrelenting drudgery and hatefulness of one Moses Edwards, Ethan Edwards FIRST written name, and it was the unstoppable Moses Edwards that does the unrellenting leadership of the two man force of nature in pursuit if the Comanch' and of the stolen girls. I salute John Ford for so many little pieces of lagniappe that caused this juggernaut of a film to mash under its war hooves all dumb arsed critics of the era. For example, the use of that ubiquitous, heart breaking song "Lorena" sung by poor starving, freezing, or thirsty or hungry , tragically LONELY southern Confederate soldiers, who fought like hell for the land they loved, and were not one percent of them slaver holders, just brave warriors. outgunned, outnumbered, doomed from the start. And the Searchers begins in what we've since come to realize was called Comancheria where even the federal troops were afraid to enter, all those courageous ranchers, that by some miracle survived with the mighty help of the Texas Rngers, like Woodrow Call or Gustavus McClay of Lonesome Dove fame, and lONSOMNE Dove pays immense homage to Ford, John Wayne, and the Searchers by naming its female lead, played by Diane Lane, LAURIE...SHORT FOR "LORENA" and the very second time we hear the piano player, named Lippy or something, playing his piano, HE IS PLAYING NOT ELSE BUT LORENA...and it made me weep with tears, so beautiful was that special gesture. Ah well, thank God for those very few GREAT filmakers whom really care about what they do and have done. Blue duck the chief Scar of Lonesome Dove.
John Ford. Liked A HAPPY set. Just wished I Had been on That Location too. The Cavalry Storm Film ing. Brilliant. Winnie HOCH.When John "says Carry On Filming.. Watching the Exra Cost!! wow THANK YOU !!!
Thanks a lot!
Grandiosa película con un principio y final memorables
The Searchers is quite a disturbing disconcerting film. It could have been cruel. Ford introduces love humanity and surprisingly humour. Genius.
Love love love love you love you baby baby

John Wayne was the best.
Yes he was
I have to wonder if Ken Curtis who played Charlie McCorry was one of the singers on the Son's of the Pioneer recording of this song?
jpavlvs He was definitely in the Pioneers.
@@ronniebishop2496
I don't think he was in it until after this was recorded.
Duke Craig I don't know this movie was 1956.
@@ronniebishop2496
Yea but it was filmed in 1955.
Duke Craig He left the pioneers in 1952. So he wasn't with them here.

anyone know why John Ford always has the shades on, even indoors or at night?
teller12 Well he had one eye, and wore a patch on it sometimes !
He lost an eye in WW2.
Lloyd Box I didn't know how it happened.
he was wanted in ireland for an old parking ticket under his real name john feeny
@@ronniebishop2496 was filming while midway was under air attack
Who actually sang that beautiful song 'RideAway'
the sons of the pioneers .later on ken curtis was the lead singer
Was it Sons of the Pioneers? I think Ken Curtis was part of it.
They also sang in Rio Grande, another one of Ford's great movies.
I read the book afterward... Otherwise the characters in the book have no faces..to my thinking ..
Natalie Wood, wow
Yeah, but Jimmy Stewart was not even in this movie! You've got it all wrong!
