They are trained to mouth and paw at the stick otherwise they would look too tame. The stick is used for communication (like professionals when training horses & large animals). When they retire those cats enjoy their acreage (45+acres). Unfortunately not all copy cat circuses are the same and other companies did mistreat their animals.
Lion and tiger can be at the king of the jungle and apex in their domain but human still remain the most dangerous animal and threat to this beautiful cats
Now this is how they should be trained. They weren't scared, and the cats look beautiful and muscular. That's not a whip, that's a guide, none of the cats flinched from it. You can see one of the male lions rub on it around 3 minutes.

As much as people may say about those animals been kept in enclosures and the way they are treating them is not right..I can't help but appreciate that guy for his strong heart..he knows that he might die any given moment,but the courage and boldness he has to stand and tame those cats showing once again the Dominion of a MAN on this Earth,you can see it either in Good or bad way,it's your perception.
