@@cannonball666 BMX at this level is not done with Walmart bikes either, and BMX is done at speed, on dirt. This is at crawl speed, on a gym floor, with only non-slip varnish. But, yes, high level BMX is also mind-blowing , although more dangerous than artistic.(Old moto-cross guy here.)

You Tube brings up this and I'm intrigued. I watch, and I'm overcome with the beauty and athletic ability on display. To do this on a polished floor, even with specialized tires, is breathtaking. And to learn such a level of bicycle balance, the athlete must begin at age 2, and only .01% of kids would ever have the determination to reach this level. Incredible, incredible performance !

They actually wouldn't be that surprised, as the original bicycle was a fixed gear and people back then were doing similar tricks, albeit not nearly has complicated as the ones in this video. They'd probably be more blown away by what BMXers do, what with grinding down handrails and jumping massive gaps, which to us is more "normal" than what's seen above, haha

@@tacolove892 ROU is not wrong, she is using a fixed gear bicycle, making it more like a unicycle than doing a wheelie on a normal bike. I can ride a unicycle but I cannot do long wheelies on a normal bike, they are very different. Also, ROU did say it was very impressive and made no claims to being able to do it.
Falling off a bike really isn't that big of a deal. She is not going very fast. It's not like she is going down a mountain, going off a jump, or getting hit by a car. She probably fell a bunch, got back up and went back to doing it. You can watch a bike messenger in New York get hit by a taxi and get back on there bike and ride away, there is a video and I knew people who it happened to even. But she is impressive. It just isn't surprising that she "survived".
@@rufusprime99 When you're on a bike you can just put your foot or feet on the ground. It's not really the same situation as wearing roller skates. I've gotten doors opened into me at low speeds and high speeds and its definitely better at low speeds. The only time I broke something while riding my bike was flying around a corner too fast.
If you start simple, like riding with no hands or maybe a wheelie. Take it from there and I can totally see how they can get to be this impressively talented.

Same here. Tried to jump a small curb at a decent speed going parallel with it and ended up rolling in the grass. It was funny.
Clearly, hands on the handle bars and feet on the pedals is not the right way to ride a bike.

How do you keep that balance, I can't imagine how you could learn these tricks, like just ride a bicycle in a room and try standing on it until you get better through trail and error.
I started skateboarding recently and bruh, if it's possible to get this good at balance I'm up for it.
Years and years of rigorous core training. Of course practicing helps alot, but proper core training is super important

Not really. It's very impressive, but everything on one wheel is effectively just riding an awkward unicycle.

@@tacolove892 ROU is not wrong, she is using a fixed gear bicycle, making it more like a unicycle than doing a wheelie on a normal bike. I can ride a unicycle but I cannot do long wheelies on a normal bike, they are very different. Also, ROU did say it was very impressive and made no claims to being able to do it.
This is like a whole judged sport and I had no idea it even existed.

Falling off a bike really isn't that big of a deal. She is not going very fast. It's not like she is going down a mountain, going off a jump, or getting hit by a car. She probably fell a bunch, got back up and went back to doing it. You can watch a bike messenger in New York get hit by a taxi and get back on there bike and ride away, there is a video and I knew people who it happened to even. But she is impressive. It just isn't surprising that she "survived".
@@peterschmidt5583 I roller skate regularly. Low speed, or no speed falls are the worst.
@@rufusprime99 When you're on a bike you can just put your foot or feet on the ground. It's not really the same situation as wearing roller skates. I've gotten doors opened into me at low speeds and high speeds and its definitely better at low speeds. The only time I broke something while riding my bike was flying around a corner too fast.

I think this sport is pretty safe since the falls are pretty predictable. The skill of performing raises proportionally to the skill of falling.
They have a natural knack for it, the balance and everything
If you start simple, like riding with no hands or maybe a wheelie. Take it from there and I can totally see how they can get to be this impressively talented.
