Oh my, that huge paperback of "Lives of the Poets"! What a find! But with little Steve (or Stevina) on the way, when will you possibly find the time to read it?
I have a funny feeling that Lives of the Poets will become little Stevina's bedtime story for the first 5 years of her life...
Funnily enough I think you said something about this year in your goals video that made me wonder if there might be big news ahead 🤔how wonderful! I hope Jasmine is doing well and yes, there might be less reading on your horizon! 😉I’m not a big podcast listener as I tend to listen/watch booktube instead but I have just found Empire and am keen to listen to more of it. Lives of the Poets is very much an Aaron book!

Aaron, congratulations on the baby on the way! 🎉🎉🎉. I’m so excited for you. I picked up a used copy also of What Maisie Knew. Mine has a delightful cartoonish cover. I think I picked it up at a used bookstore here in Pittsburgh around the holidays. I may try it soon.

That’s a great book haul. I liked the map in Runciman that you showed. I own a paperback of that book (somewhere) and I may opt for that to fulfill my Historathon second quarter requirement. I had been flummoxed.

Delightful book hall. I, too, have been trying to read a great deal of science fiction this year, which is one genre I haven’t really explored much. I’m thoroughly enjoying what I’ve read so far. I’m also always reading a volume of poetry, so I’m interested in what you choose. Wonderful news about the baby, Aaron!

@@aaronfacer if I missed your baby news from another video I apologise! In fairness babies don't do anything for a long time apart from sleep, feed, poop, and generally he cute - plenty of opportunity for reading for a while. Once they can roll over it's a whole other ball game!

I really like Runciman, his book on the third crusade is one of the few history books I've re-read and I have the folio editions. Gateway is great, my brother really liked it too, I want that edition now, I don't have any of those new ones. I have a feeling you will like The Dispossessed, and yes it won both awards too. My favourite Le Guin is Tehanu, the 4th book of Earthsea so I'm interested to hear your thoughts on those when you finish!
Tehanu was really different -- I was quite impressed that Le Guin took things in that direction. I'm looking forward to exploring more of her writing!
