    The Russian Imperial Romanov family was shot and bayoneted to death by Bolshevik revolutionaries, under orders from the Ural Regional Soviet, July 1918. The bodies were then taken to the Koptyaki forest, where they were stripped, mutilated with grenades to prevent identification, and buried. (The show claims they used acid but historical records say grenades.)

    King George V did wish to being the Czar to England but Czar Nicholas believed he would be restored or at least his son would be, so he declined the offer. It was later in the war did Czar Nicholas change his mind but by then, England could not risk bringing the Romanov family to England because the Czarina was a German Princess and The Great War was still ongoing. No one in the royal family or in multiple other royal families believed the Czar would be executed, especially the children. By the time of the executions, the Czar had no power and had abdicated. The Romanovs were murdered and many decades later, Saintified by the Russian Orthodox church.
    Chairman Mao of the Chinese Communist Party would call the murder a mistake and US President Woodrow Wilson would refer to it as an act of barbarism.

      Mao decided to "re-educate" the last Emporer of China after he was extradited by the Soviet Union back to China after being captured as a war collaborator for the Japanese. He became a devoted Maoist, worked the Beijing Botanical Garden's until he died in the 1960's. Mao declared him off limits to the Red Guard, more or less for propaganda purposes. Basically claiming that Chinese Marxism was "superior" to Soviet Marxism, because they didn't have to execute thier last Monarch because they converted him.

      @@therealignotus7549 Yes, from what we know from various sources (Soviet archive material, memoirs/interviews from executioners later on life, and the files of a White Army investigator who carried out a thorough investigation when the Whites temporarily recaptured Ekaterinburg) the truth was much more horrific than could be shown in a TV show. Many more executioners fired for longer in real life, the tiny cellar being quickly filled with gore, vomit, gunsmoke and urine. A drunken Bolshevik thug named Ermakov stabbed at some of the surviving sisters with a bayonet, but was so drunk he could not dispatch them cleanly or quickly. Lead executioner Yakov Yurovsky shot the Tsarevich point blank through the head after Alexei had survived opening fusilade. One account suggests Anastasia, already shot and wounded, died when a grown man thrust a bayonet through her face. I'm sorry to be so graphic, but I try to describe at least some of the hideous truth of what Tankie Communists will often try to justify.

    • @raddimusmcchoyber3362
      @raddimusmcchoyber3362 28 дней назад +3

      This was significantly tamer. While we'll never know exactly, quite a lot of evidence (memoirs and interviews in later life from those who took part; material from the Soviet archives; the eventual discovery of the remains) has provided something of a picture as to what happened. I'm sorry for how graphic this is, but it is the truth as best we know. There was much, much more shooting than shown here, with many more pistol-armed executioners involved. After a while the cellar filled with gunsmoke. Once this cleared, there was a scene of utter carnage. Blood, vomit, flesh chunks, bodies. A foul, drunken lout named Pyotr Ermakov waded in with a bayonet, stabbing at some of the girls who had survived. He apparently slipped over repeatedly in the filthy gunge that saturated the floor. The lead executioner (Yakov Yurovsky) saw that little Alexei was moaning and crying on the floor, hideously wounded. Yurovsky shot him through the head point blank. I've no love for Nicholas, but I loathe the way that some modern commies try to act cool and tough by pretending that the whole family somehow "deserved it".
