I love the 1977 punk aesthetic in this video while feeling modern. This video feels like it respects the old school 1977/1982 punk I grew up on while modernizing it. The scally caps, the refusal to pigeonhole your music into generic spiky punk. I love this. I grew up on this style of music, and this rocks. I've said it before, but I'll say it again, I wish my 1970s first wave punk rock mom was still alive because she would love you guys. I can 't wait for a full length lp with Meriel, she is an excellent singer. The way she combines clean singing with aggressive yells is awesome.

Are you kidding? This is terrible... go listen to DOA,...

@davidsparks6146 Dear sir, your attempt to elitist has been noted. If you are going elitist though, I highly recommend you suggest someone more underground and REAL PUNK than DOA, especially considering DOA's later attempts at LOL “mainstream rock.” As for your assertion that we have never heard a "REAL PUNK" band, Slaughterhouse' music is legit punk in the vein of early 77/82 girl fronted bands I grew up on such as X-Ray Specs, Violators, Penetration, Vice Squad, Siousxie and the Banshees first album and so on. However, since you think DOA is so much more PUNKSES and hard and such, I am going to suggest a few much better, harder and more underground bands than DOA that you could have attempted to elitist with. Obviously, Discharge was earlier, much harder and far better and more influential than weaksauce DOA, but even bands like Abrasive Wheels, GBH, the Varukers, and the Willard’s early stuff like Punx Sing a Gloria or Misery put DOA to shame, let alone MUCH harder bands like MDC, and especially Crucifix. However, elitist, why did you not suggest Mornington Crescent’s Greeting from Amsterdam EP, Asocial’s How Could Hardcore Be Any Worse demo, or anything Confuse has done to show the REAL PUNK bands you know soooooo much more about than us losers? In fact, Asocial’s first demo is widely credited as inventing the blast beat and was in the tape trading scene in the early 80s, and Mornington Crescent’s EP is considered one the first true crust releases in 1983 both of which are far more influential than lame ass DOA. Don’t get me started on Antisect.
However, LOLerskates to DOA’s late career attempts at lol “Crossover” or mainstream rock which sure worked out for them. Obviously, the Exploited’s excellent The Massacre album is again, much better than later DOA, but the excellent dual male/female vocals Anarcho Punk/Metal crossover band Civilised Society crushes DOA’s late career. Proudflesh’s Powerbroker EP also did it better, with the song Across this Chaos slaying DOA’s later stuff. Germany’s Idiots also crushed this, Cries of the Insane in 1987 is shockingly better than anything later DOA did. However, the stenchcore scene crushes DOA in terms of “crossover” with Energetic Krusher, Hellbastard, Maggot Slayer Overdrive, early Deviated Instinct, Terrorizer, and Concrete Sox all combining metal and punk in a much more aggressive and underground style. Asocial’s excellent House of gore EP trashes anything late 80s DOA did, with legendary Portland D-beat band Axiom covering Act of Violence. However, the standout band of this scene has to be Sacrilege, the female fronted late 80s crossover band featuring members of the Varukers that bands like At the Gates, Bolt Thrower and Napalm Death listed as an influence. Beyond the Realms of Madness and Within the Prophecy spits in the face of anything DOA did in the late 80s. I have played Flight of the Nazgul from Within the Prophecy to multiple rocker girls, and had all of them be blown away when I tell them that song was 1987, with comments like no way this is 87, this sounds modern. My work has a Death Metal grandma, and she was stunned and told me straight up I wish I had heard this back in 87, you just could NOT get this music in 1987.
Elitist, I am disappoint, as again, you could have brought up REAL PUNK bands like Burning Spirits bands Selfish, Death Side, Tetsu Arrei, or Paintbox to show your superiority. Or hell, Avskum, No Hope for the Kids, Dresden ’45 or Inepsy. Obviously, though, us fans of Slaughterhouse have never heard a “Real Punk” band.

Ummm,... the images don't go with the song... where's the "State of Emergency"?? Should be riots and social unrest.... wondering around the forest looks like Hippie stuff. Every comment below seems to me have NEVER seen a real punk band.... this has a 70's overtone... but kinda lightweight... and fluffy. I mean ...wearing a nightgown (or silky undies?)... WTF?

    • @MrNerdyBrit

When using creative interpretation in any kind of art, things don't have to match up so literally. You seem to be quite out of touch when it comes to Punk, you don't need to follow trends or fit so neatly in a box.
