Add me to the list of people that hadn’t the slightest clue this band existed until this video came up in my feed. Love this.
I clicked for the name but like the music and the clip
I'll give this to youtube/the algorithm.. Once every few months... I get to listen to a band that deserves listening to
@@modirofish5186 Exactly the algorithm worked when it gave me this a few months ago. I bought their entire discography on bandcamp and must see them live!
I have loved this band for over a decade. They are such a trip. "La belle indifference" is the song that got me into them.
Same for me
Gotta love a band that digs philosophy and jumpsuits.
Clearly they understand the fundamentals of making a great rock band.
You’d love Wooze
RELATABLE
They were called DEVO.
I saw them live in 1978, but thanks for making others aware of Devo.
This song somehow achieved the feat of merging the 80s, 90s and 2000s in one song, which is pretty hard to do.
wow, that's a total bingo. I didn't realize it till ya said it
Was about to say same thing but you said it first! I would also add the 70’s a La Boston and Steve Miller Band ELO etc… great stuff-yum!
Y 3000❤😂❤
This band, this video, this music transcends all genres. Freshest music I've heard in decades.
"transcends all genres", there just playing new way rock 🤦
Sounds a lot like Giovanni Giorgio tracks from 50 years ago.
I find it so encouraging that they have Vulcan playing Bass. It is nice to see them being so inclusive.
And imagine the working visa process, they really must love the guy.
That guy is so sci fi. Nice look, Memo.
Riff long and prosper.
It was the logical choice.
lol
Well, this is one of the best things I've heard all year. Crunchy, weird, and awesome.
in many ways, they remind me of the japanese band called Polysics
@@domonkosscheiling5809 I can see that. At least visually, they're rocking the same Devo-inspired jumpsuit look that Polysics has. I think the music is fairly different, though. A little deeper, darker sound. Not by a huge margin, but this song broods a bit more than Polysics, definitely since Sako (the keyboard player) left the band. Certainly the DaK music before this song is quite different. Both great bands, though. I look forward to seeing more from this new form of DaK.
I was going to say that modern music is Devolving
Thank you algorithm! Great song - the outfits and moves are a bonus. 😀
@@domonkosscheiling5809 cálmate no exageres.
If they ever do another Scott Pilgrim Movie this would fit in perfectly.
My 3 year old is absolutely obsessed with these songs (Destruction, Raindrops and Mess), we gave them a starter guitar and we have watched these videos probably 10,000 times, they do the choreography, sing and play their guitar / drum along with you. As a father who was a guitarist in bands their whole life it fills me with so much pride and gratitude that they like awesome music too. I just want to let you know that you're inspiring the next generation of musicians... thank you.
That is so great
I have no idea where this band came from or who they are, but I'm already obsessed with them because of this one song. I look forward to going down the rabbit hole of learning more.
And THAT, boys and girls is how we learn to love music and knowledge. /lesson
Most definitely
Well it's either this or watching how Adrian replaced the main board of his 1980's TV with modern parts, so...
I feel the exact same way!
Tell me what you see down there, cause I'm in the queue for the jump!
Devo and Talking Heads got super high, watched the Revenge of the Nerds 2 concert too many times, combined their DNA with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and cloned a hole space rock band for the 2020s. ...and it's one of the best things I've seen in a long, long time!!!
You left out Kraftwerk.
and a sprinkling of St. Vincent...perhaps
That's sad
Giving way too much credit when it's only one song
This band takes me back to the golden age of MTV.
i watch classic MTV from time to time.. you know there is a MTV live channel that plays new videos. i have not seen music like this. they do play Wet Leg tho.
That guitar tone. Chef’s kiss
hit the nail on the head - that riff/tone is outrageous
Whoever composed this visually is some kind of genius. I love the retro-futurism.
Do you mean the person who watched the Devo video anthology?
@@thegreyhoundnyc do you mean the guy who likes Kraftwerk?
There is nothing new under the sun. Every artist is a mixer.
Right? that Devo feel. So good.
I was thinking more Gerry Anderson... If they do a video in a supermarionation style, they owe me a pint!😜
How does this song not have a BILLION views?!
cause bots are very expensive
This generations DEVO
The future of the Rock is now. Reinvention is the solution. Thanks DAK, You think out of the box. Smashing!
80's throwback is like having your brains smashed out by a slice of lemon wrapped around a large gold brick. - the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster made into music. Well done.
thats a description right there lmao! this is something ive never heard and i love this!!
the best drink in existence lol
@joshcohen6800 Haha! I half way didn't expect anyone to know now-a-days! Thanks for commenting.
would say it is a little more Hyperdrive stylistically
omg yes that make its make sense, thank u human.
I love how the main singer has a whole "Lady Gaga meets Hayley Williams" vibe going on. Loved the song, thank you RUclips for the suggestion!
Same! I had to do a guitar cover and jam along! So much fun! Check it out on my channel if you could!
The aesthetics. Colors. Choreography. Music. They've got it all. Count me in
I swear, I closed my eyes and I could hear the delightful crunchiness of Ween in there. I LOVE YOU GUYS!
Oh my! This is exactly my bag of strange! Music that mixes genres, includes analogue synths and comes in a well thought out seemingly high production video package...
Yes!!!
Vocals: Metric
Instrumentals: Post Animal
What an amazing combo! RUclips recommendations never fails to show me a good band and song
"There will be creation after destruction, you'll see."
I love that I found this, but also mad they have been around so long and I never knew. If there was ever a band primed and overdue to blow up it's DAK
Bought the vinyl, now looking for a yellow jumpsuit to go to work at the coal mine. I'm all in.
Gotta love those St. Vincent guitars 👩🎤
I think this is possibly my favourite song and video of 2023 :)
Wow. I stumbled upon this by accident. In the right state of mind.
I was lucky enough to see this band in a small venue in Pittsburgh several years ago, and their live set (even then) made this video look like child's play. They rule SO HARD. 🤘🏽
Shiny toy guns vibes and I'm freaking here for it
I cannot get this out of my head
Está increíble!!! Mil fuego!!!
E e e e e e e muchas gracias ❤️🔥🥲🫶
Santos bacalaos, es el jefe
This song is a drug ,i cant stop listening to it.
Hey kids, I was born and had my formative years in the 70’s when music was exploratory in a lot of strange directions and I LOVED being alive back then. This somehow brought me back and really made my heart so happy! Love it!
Reminds me of DEVO.
Having seen Devo four times I totally feel the same way - Mark M must be smiling.
This is what the world needs now
Now that is what I call completely original, unique and just plain awesome. Wow this band really blew away.
Not original at all... type St Vincent Guitar in google, you will se that the whole aesthetic, look, even dance performance is a cheap copy of Annie Clark, they are even using her signature guitar. So in their defense they are consciously copying her.
@@cynthiacovarrubias7096
What the hell is wrong with people like you. I had never heard (in my life) anything like this music at all and I was never aware of the artist you mentioned. So from my 59 year old life long music lover perspective who has always loved rock music of various types I say to you.. Whatever!!!!!!! I still think they rock.
@@cynthiacovarrubias7096that wouldn’t be called copying, that would be called a homage
Reminds me of "Let Forever Be" by The Chemical Brothers.
@@cynthiacovarrubias7096 Is there a name attached to this genre?
This is the best song I've heard in years. 10/10.
I never knew Spock could play bass guitar
This isn't what I expected it to sound like when the algorithm served this up to me, but I am glad it did. It's so weird in a really satisfying way.
Woah this was amazing. Thank you algorithm.
So DEVO is done touring this year. DAK are the new traditionalists. The future looks amazing. See you in the crowds, spuds!
So cool to see Spock and that kid from the Children of the Corn all grown up and making awesome music!! 😁
it's like if Devo and Ladytron got together and had a child that was brought up by their aunt Blondie and I'm 100% on board.
I've never heard this band until just now. I saw the thumbnail and figured it was going to be boring. I was wrong. This is a very cool song and video.
Today's the day the algorithm worked. What a great band to stumble upon. That guitar tone is insanely crisp. Hits on all cylinders and doesnt miss. Im really happy to see yall have been on the grind for over a decade. Im hoping this is the year it pays off. Lets blow this song *up*
I just found this today, thanks to The Great Algo. I kinda wonder if it's because I purchased an EHX Bitcrusher pedal online earlier lol
That's great, except there are no guitars on this song.
😍😍🔥🔥🔥thank youuuuuuuu!!!
Amazing!
The more I listen to this band, the more I love them!
TY RUclips algorithm for this band. I put this on repeat at least 75 times on Spotify in the past 24 hours. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Awesome! This takes me back to MTV in the early 80's when bands released completely nutty videos that were just mesmerizing, and MTV played these videos all day long instead of whatever the hell they're doing now.
Those were the days
the algorithm gods were kind to me today. what a banger of a song.
There WILL be Creation after destruction, but ask yourselves this, Do you have to wait 14,000 years to make this sone again if we destroy everything and start over? This song is everlasting!
Mexico!
El algoritmo de RUclips finalmente me recomendó algo que en verdad vale la pena!!! Tremendo grupo este😮😮😮😮
Same ❤
Dit dus.
Por más dudas me puso una publicidad que duraba 40 minutos e insalteable
Verdad
Me acaba de pasar lo mismo
You are our new musical obsession.
It works - the song,the visuals,the timing.
Super sweet! Can't believe I've only just found this band, considering who they've toured with over the years... ❤
Care to share?
Fantastic music! Very cool concept! Brilliant presentation! Old dogs like me LOVE new tricks. As long as you're making music, I'll keep buying. Yes, I'm so old I still PAY for music. Thanks for all your good works!!
😍🫶🥲
actually the coolest guitar solo i've heard in years.
All right. I was a bit skeptical at the beginning of the song, but it grew on me, so I ended up giving it a thumbs up. Hopefully that will make the algorithm bestow upon me more music from this band.
The future of rock'n roll is secured🤩😍
What do you get when you mix Blonde, with a splash of Devo, some 90's indie rock, and anything else in-between. These guys.
Agree.
I'm picking up a little bit of "OK Computer," a little bit of the film "THX1138," a little bit of the Super-Marionation TV show "Thunderbirds," and a smidgen of Jack White in that wickedly saturated guitar sound. Totally digging it.
Don't forget Orgy
I think I'm in love
what a discovery!
This video popped up out of nowhere and now I’ve been listening to their albums nonstop. It’s so good! What a delightfully bananas band! As a gal who grew up with Pixies, Sonic Youth, the Breeders, Elastica, etc, this just makes my 90s heart so happy. Throw in a heavy bit of punk, some retro-futurism, and you’ve got yourself a super fun and original band!
Definitely. Throw in some literal St Vincent guitars and you have gold!
Ditto! Pixies were my favorite band for the longest time. I'd add that if you like "After Destruction", check out Electric Six's "Rock and Roll Evacuation":

3秒聞いて分かる、素晴らしい!
this song is insane
Well, this is my first time ever hearing this group, but I'm already a fan.
same
See. A synchronised dance routine is still a winner.
So glad the algorithm sent this my way. The whole album is amazing.
This sounds like what I expected the future of rock to sound like in 1999.
Very original and fresh. Can’t wait to see good things happen in their future. Great production on this.
VERY original?! Do you know DEVO?
Awesome I really like it 👍
@@toddthing St. Vincent
yah reminds me of a mix of battles music, st. vincents imagery and devo's moves no doubt. Reminded me a tiny bit of Trans Am too
@@romanveselkov7672 they've even got her guitars so it's not like they're trying to hide it ^_^ So yeah, anyone who likes this and hasn't heard st. vincent, go listen to her self titled album, for starters.
Jeez. I found this song like 3 months ago and it took me 3 months to find it again. I'm trying to show this to erryone
It's addictive! Thank you, algorithm!
I f***ing LOVE this. I haven't been this excited about a song in ages.
I can't believe how good this is.
Man, don't know what the hell this is but I'm pretty sure I like it.
THIS FREAKING ROCKS!
There is still hope for humanity! Thank you 🙂
can't wait to hear the whole album
I've been listening to lectures and podcasts for the past ten years. I'm rediscovering the joys of music. So much pure formula tunes out presently.
Happy fun fun mind of moi finding this band.
Solid tune. Solid orchestration. Solid performance. Solid video.
Thank you folks.
I’ve been going through the same thing for most of my life it was all music but then I went through a stretch of a few years where I just did podcasts and now I’m back to music. There’s so much great stuff out there now
For real, people like to say music is dead in 2023. But record labels are dead….but music has never been better or more available.
Bringing it back!!!!!!
Absolutely kick ass! Awesome video!
This is a breath of fresh air. Fantastic.
Damn! I was going to sleep, and stumbled upon this... Now I can´t sleep. This is utterly brilliant.
Visually, this is just too cool.
Blimey, it’s like Transvision Vamp and Daði Freyr had a rumble inside the Roland Cloud. And I like it.
This video is the greatest collaboration - hope the band and the video makers stick together for many more because it is just perfect.
Bill Nelson called - he wants his Red Noise back.....only kidding, I like it!
Damn, RUclips did it's job today recommending this. Had no idea what I was about to see or hear but damn this is such a fun song!
youtube ......first time......algorythm gave me a bass vulcan....... im in.
found something real in the music industry
Got A New Fan. That bass break is incredible.
That blue guitar is cool as hell.
You, Kant, always get what you want.
This just popped up in my feed and im so glad it did!! Fantastic.
HOLY COW!!! This is AWESOME!! MORE please!!!
¡Menudo temazo! He perdido la cuenta de las veces que he visto este videoclip. Tremendo.
I'd like to add here that I just got the CD and oh boy that is one of the coolest designed sleeves I have ever seen, you guys are great!
This is the best thing I've heard since idk, 1991 maybe. Takes me right back. Just fantastic.
I’m 58 and this popped up so I clicked! Wow! So exciting and fresh!!!
Yeah, me too.
