I found an easy way to do this that is pretty good
1. Take off the plate in the middle of the wheel, and use it to mark holes on the aftermarket wheel
2. Drill holes so the screws can fit into thw holes
3.(taking off the old wheel is optional) take off the old wheel and bolt the aftermarket wheel onto the wheel, using the six screws for the middle plate

Because of the spacer the wheel bolts on a bit farther out from the stock one right? I don’t want a deep dish wheel so I was wondering if it would be able to still clear the buttons

@@unbo_lillo1848 everything feels about the same, kind of a different feel just because the wheel is bigger (maybe a little looser but expected from a bigger steering wheel), but the force feedback is still there, loving the new wheel, wouldn’t go back
Can i stick a real car wheel on it.. year 2002 or so?
Is the base strong enought for larger wheel hard use?
What’s the weight difference between the two wheels? Does it affect the feedback a lot or a little?

It will dampen so I just turned my force ffb up to compensate...I play on iracing
id say modifying your wheel at all will take some getting used to anyways
depends on the weight, if you put a bigger wheel, it will require less strenght to turn, if the wheels is heavier, it will countersteer slower, if its lighter, it will countersteer faster

It did feel slightly oversized and bit weird to get used to after using the stock wheel for so long
How do you know what wheel will fit? Is there a special model for g29 or anything would fit?

Quick question! at around 3:38 mounting the wheel to the adaptor, do you know which screws are required? the adaptor holes are really small so I have no idea what screws go in there!

I think those screws would end up coming with the rim you purchased! If not, try to do your best to size it up. But most good rims should come with the screws

How come for my adapter. I put my wheel on and after a day my steering wheel keeps loosening and I took it off and noticed the adapter screw holes for the custom steering wheel are stripped? They can just slide in and back out.

if you get a wheel with the same style of bolting system yes, maybe not to the original not sure but i think so. you could easily hot swap with this type of adapter

Well personally I play assetto corsa where I won’t use much buttons besides getting back to the pits or changing pov. Now I see what your saying about the paddles but what I’ve done is made paddle extensions
@Praxufn I play assetto, so how do you turn your turn signals on during the quali to tell people your on a slow line? How do you activate your wiper when it rains? Etc

Not if you get just a light cheap wheel. The stock wheel will weigh about the same I’m assuming.

Just wondered if anyone else is having trouble with the xbox button being really sensitive and sometime getting stuck in the pressed position? I've took apart and rebuilt twice with no improvement, is there meant to be a spring in behind the button or something?
Get smaller bolts for the adapter. With the original it is probably pushing the board.
Happened to me just now, I left the 2 bottom screws on the adapter about 1/8 turn loose, fixed the button being stuck and doesn't wobble
Make sure the adapter bolts aren’t too tight on the circuit it can squeeze that button down
Did your clutch ever stop working because when I got mine it wouldn’t want to activate the clutch when I put it in have any suggestions
little late but you may have to click the inverse box when assigning the clutch

Steering Wheel Adapter Mod Plate
This was definitely not as straight forward as you made it seem. I ran into problems almost every step of the way. I will list my experience so that anyone trying to do this has an idea of what I went through.
Firstly, when trying seperate the wheel from the housing I couldn't manage to seperate them even after taking out all the screws. After a good amount of time I ended up yanking on it (not recommended) and the wheel finally separated. The cause of this problem was the red rotating dial on the front of the wheel is clipped into the back housing and the clip it has to be depressed from the inside in order for the front housing to seperate with the rest of the wheel and this was not shown in your video as this dial is only on the G29 however it's important for anyone wanting to do this mod for the Playstation.
Once the wheel had been separated I had taken out the circuit board and was unscrewing the rest of the screws that I hadn't gotten to yet and the two larger screws in the middle of the wheel simply would not come out. They would just rotate round and round even with applying pressure to the housing. I ended up having to get them out with the steel punch.
When trying to reinstall the circuit board to the front housing with the buttons I had many issues trying to align it with the red rotating dial button. For whatever reason it just simply would not align properly and after many attempts taking the circuit board on and off multiple times it eventually fell into place.
Then once I had put everything back together the paddle shifters would not work. I then had to take everything apart again and it was a huge battle trying to make sure the PS3/PS4 button and the paddle shifters were aligned properly. If I had managed to get one aligned then the other one wouldn't be. It was very finicky. This part would have been a lot easier with another pair of hands, but after a long period of time I managed to get everything lined up the way it should.
After that I turned on my PS5 to test it out and much to my frustration none of the buttons on the wheel were working. This gave me a mini heart attack because I thought I'd have to take apart the wheel again or worse maybe I had broken my wheel or caused damage to the circuit board. After a little while a few buttons started to work in the main PS5 menu and then randomly they all started working much to my relief.
Once I had got all the buttons working I loaded into a game to make sure the wheel was working the way it should and I found that the force feedback wasn't working at all. I quit out the the game and tried to load back in and again there wasn't any force feedback. I then restarted my PS5 and when the wheel was trying to do the wheel calibration when you first turn on your console it only span to the right and stayed there. I loaded into a game again and the force feedback wasn't working again. I restarted my PS5 two or three more times and now my wheel wasn't even doing the start up calibration and eventually my PS5 ended up crashing. I then turned everything off at the wall and then on again and when I turned my Playstation back on and everything seemed to be working fine after that. I went into a game and I had force feedback just the way it should be. I then restarted my PS5 another 3 times to make sure it was all working fine and it was.
I am aware that my experience was probably very rare and most likely won't happen to most people and in the end I am very happy with the mod now that it is working the way it should, however I must say that I do not recommend doing this if you are not good at problem solving or tinkering as I had issues almost every step of the way.
