I must say that the PlayStation 1 startup sound is, by far, the best intro sound of any console. Although I never owned a PlayStation, I have memories of playing on my uncle's console (God rest his soul) whenever my parents and I went to visit him and my paternal grandparents. As a kid who didn't own an actual home console until I turned 12, being afforded the chance to play video games when visiting family was a major treat! The sound also sends chills down my spine, partially because of nostalgia, but also because of how it was orchestrated! :)

The sound you said might be a flute at the end of the intro if the game booted successfully is actually a slowed down version of the chimes/bells in the very intro (The sony screen
Fun fact: The last part of the Playstation intro wasn't a Japanese flute but it was one the chimes of the Playstation logo but slowed down.
