If a game isn't pro enhanced, it's sort of an awkward one and a game by game basis. If the fidelity mode in the game has an uncapped framerate, the pro might push it up to 60 so use this. But if not, you'll be stuck at 30 max anyway, so it'd be better to go for performance. The recommendation here was for pro enhanced games and all future releases will also be pro enhanced, but yeah it's an awkward case by case basis sort of thing for games without updates. If the quality mode is uncapped, go with that.

not that there are many things that can utilize it, but I'm weirdly jealous I don't have a tv with that output, I was just looking to upgrade to a Bravia 7 or something but budget constraints
Yeahh I get that! Honestly, my recommendation would be to stick with a 4K OLED panel that supports 120HZ & VRR. You don't need 8K just yet and it'd actually worsen image quality in most games as the 4K image you tend to get would need to scale so it would look softer.
I followed your "Change These Settings BEFORE Playing" and now my TV screen is black and can't even be controlled by my remote. I hear the PS5 Pro on in the back with music but can't see anything no matter what I do. Would appreciate if you could get back to me ASAP
Hey! I'm so sorry to hear this, no setting here should cause that. I suspect it was caused by something in your screen & video options, likely the video transfer rate option or RGB range option, but you shouldn't have changed these. 1. Power off the PS5. You can do so by holding the power button until you hear it beep a 2nd time - this is technically a force shutdown, so you can just tap once to do rest mode, but that might not force reset it. 2. Unplug the HDMI cable (and power if you fully shut it off). 3. Wait 10 seconds. 4. Plug it back in and turn on. That should force it to reset the screen & Video Settings so you can see it again. Then go in them and make sure the video transfer rate is set to automatic, and RGB range is automatic. Also make sure your cable is HDMI 2.1, preferably the one in the box. If it isn't or is a low quality 2.1 cable, it might cause a flicker or permanent black if you tried enabling something like 120HZ, VRR or ALLM, if the cable is too cheap to support it even though it's the right spec. Hope this helps! 🤞
I know it wasn't my main interest in buying the pro but the image enhancement setting literally makes no difference to PS4 games and I've tested a wide range of PS4 games so far.
Niceeee! How is it? Is it noticeably sharper than a 4K panel? In my limited experience with 8K screens, I've never been able to tell the difference on anything below 100". Thanks for watching and enjoy your new console!
I kind of agree. I think the real issue with 8K for me is it's not too impactful on most size TV screens, and then it's just not worth the performance hit.
Not with the pro! The pro uses PSSR and other tech to run the PS5's fidelity mode at 60fps, which enhanced games will now have labelled as a performance mode. Some games have added a new fidelity mode too, such as SM2, which adds a couple extra RT features, but for half the framerate, it isn't worth it when the final resolution output looks identical as a result of the AI upscaling. Or at least, that's my own opinion but thanks for sharing yours!
@Octorious We shall see. Digital Foundry seemed to suggest otherwise as they've released a few videos testing games. Mine arrives today! Appreciate the video and your response. Keep up the grind.
@@xXLilSmurthXx They did also test a lot of games running without pro specific upgrades and just via the boost mode. This might be what you are thinking about. Some games have also introduced new fidelity modes for the pro, but they aren't enough an improvement visually to justify the downgrade in framerate. I feel like if you've bought a pro, you want 4K60 gaming as much as possible rather than 4K30 with some more RT enhancements. Thank you and enjoy your new Pro! :D
Point 8, isn't there a potential that enforcing performance will mean the game thinks you want 1080p instead of 4k? Seems this could work both ways, can someone explain why it would work this way but not the other?
I suppose this could be the case for games that aren't officially pro-enhanced yet for sure. My justification here is that if you've bought the pro, most of your time will be in pro-enhanced games, and every game releasing from this point, will be pro-enhanced.
It just means it will set the performance mode as the default. Just like any other game, you'll still be able to change it to any of the other available modes.
Absolutely paused the video and going elsewhere for advice after trying to claim Bloodborne was enhanced. Took a chance on a new channel, and definitely regretting. Don’t spread misinformation for clicks. All it does for a Bloodborne is sharpen up the text since the 30fps is hardcoded.
Yes it is! There's like 1 or 2 games that actually run at native 8K, but most that support it use PSSR to upscale to 8K. We are waiting for the GT7 patch still, but when that's out, it will support it via PSSR in a similar way to No Mans Sky. NMS renders at a native 4K, then uses PSSR to upscale to 8K, which can actually look better than native 8K anyways.
I agree this would be very nice. 😢 The PS5 Pro does do this by default, but it's only to the point where it pushes it to whatever the dev set the cap to. So for something like bloodborne, it won't ever go beyond 30 without the game receiving a patch.
I really have no idea 😅 If you watch my video for the rest of the PS5 settings, there are literally over 40 that should definitely be changed from their default values. I think the consoles are setup to be more casual user oriented which may be why. I would be intrigued to speak to the software team on why some of these default decisions are made.
Yeahh it's expensive for the difference that's there imo 😅 I've never been able to tell the difference between 4K and 8K unless the screen is larger than like 100".
There is no need to enable allm because if your monitor supports it then its already on also enabling 120 hz is useless unless the game supports it which most dont so uncheck both also vrr uncheck that most games sont support that either unless the game supports it uncheck it not rocket science
@ Started with Rebirth, picking up my third playthrough to finish out the last few trophies and folios. It looks great, but I didn't think it was that bad to begin with. Ragnarok looks solid. Stellar blade, black myth Wukong, RE4... (I realize bmw hasn't been patched; truth be told, I think it's severely overrated). And a handful of ps4 titles. Anyway, it isn't a bad upgrade, per se, but I think the base ps5 gives you 85+ of the play experience you get from the pro. I see why a lot of people don't want the upgrade. I am keeping mine, but I haven't been blown away by it. 🤷🏻♂️
Why Sony PlayStation does not make a new ps5 camera with 4K recording resolution, because this HD is really outdated garbage. And you need a new PS5 V2 camera that can record video content from HD resolution to 4K.
This system is disappointment so far. I have a lg c10 oled tv and it's fully capable of displaying a great gaming experience but i don't see the difference from my ps5 slim to the ps5 pro. In the ps5 pro settings I get a 8k option that's not gonna get used until i get a 8k tv then there's no ps 5 pro labeling anywhere besides the box to let you know you have a upgraded system and everything else looks the same as the regular ps5 . Please tell me why is everyone lying about this system looking great ? Please it just looks like I traded my slim for the big bulky ps5 all over again
Sorry to hear this! :( The point of the pro is for framerate. If you bought it expecting substantially better visuals, that's not what this exists for. It exists to deliver the same visuals as the regular PS5's fidelity modes, albeit at higher frame rates. So Spider-Man 2 for instance looks identical, but now runs the PS5 fidelity mode at double the frame rate. It does make big visual differences in some games like FF7 Rebirth, but ultimately, framerate is the upgrade here so if that isn't something you care about and are fine with 30fps or having to compromise between visuals and framerate, then yeah, this one probably isn't for you unfortunately.
I already do and believe it's actually more powerful than the pro, but I enjoy the ease of console gaming more. Having to resolve frame stutter etc for every single game on PC gets tedious for me, and I don't like just turning everything down to the minimum. I love PC for being able to experiment with mods etc and new visual options though :)

I have the Sony Z9K 8K tv
Niceeee! How is it? Is it noticeably sharper than a 4K panel? In my limited experience with 8K screens, I've never been able to tell the difference on anything below 100".
Thanks for watching and enjoy your new console!
Thank you for Russian subtitles
4K OLED > 8k
It’s just not refined enough yet. Like the VR stuff.
Just my opinion
I kind of agree. I think the real issue with 8K for me is it's not too impactful on most size TV screens, and then it's just not worth the performance hit.
If you don’t have a 4k tv you don’t need a ps5 pro unless u have the hertz
You forgot setting 120hz in the PSVR2 headset.
This was a setting on the base PS5 wasn't it? I believe it's in my PSVR2 video 😊
@@Octorious I had to turn mine ON in my new PS5 pro. Not sure about your other video, sorry.
Yup, got a 88inch 8k TV since 2019. But I play PS5 Pro VR2 games so not really using it.. 😂
Oh wow interesting! You'll have to give some games like GT7 & NMS a try on that though given the 8K support 🔥
#8 is a lie. Graphics mode will always not only look better, but be closer to, if not be 4k. Performance mode will not always, if at all be in 4k.
Like for not starting the video “what’s up guys”
I can't wait to get mine on December since it's releasing in my country on December 13
I'm excited for you for then! Enjoy :D
Is the 8k support legit? Even pcs struggle with 8k...
I hope someone tests RDR2
I would rather prefer "Enhance Framerate for PS4 Games" and for PS5 games too.
I agree this would be very nice. 😢 The PS5 Pro does do this by default, but it's only to the point where it pushes it to whatever the dev set the cap to. So for something like bloodborne, it won't ever go beyond 30 without the game receiving a patch.
Why doesn't the system default to these?
I really have no idea 😅 If you watch my video for the rest of the PS5 settings, there are literally over 40 that should definitely be changed from their default values. I think the consoles are setup to be more casual user oriented which may be why. I would be intrigued to speak to the software team on why some of these default decisions are made.
I never use VRR, ALLM, or even 120 FPS on my system with my tv. I find it makes the picture less good on my OLED tv with my receiver.
You only really need to activate it if you plan on playing a game at 40 FPS or 120 FPS. Otherwise it's probably better to keep it off.
OK, let's Google the 8k tv 3 thousand pound, no I don't an 8k tv ..
So far I've been pretty underwhelmed by my Pro. Hoping it changes my mind today or it might find its way back to the store.
Ahh sorry to hear that! What games have you tried?
Don’t enable enhance ps4 games if your playing Ghost Recon Wildlands, get all kinds of flickering all over the place.
Interesting! It can cause issues in some games, but should be really rare so thanks for sharing. 😊
So u don’t play old games
Why Sony PlayStation does not make a new ps5 camera with 4K recording resolution, because this HD is really outdated garbage. And you need a new PS5 V2 camera that can record video content from HD resolution to 4K.
You buy ps5 pro to maximize ps4 games? 😅
The point of the pro is for framerate.
It does make big visual differences in some games like FF7 Rebirth, but ultimately, framerate is the upgrade here so if that isn't something you care about and are fine with 30fps or having to compromise between visuals and framerate, then yeah, this one probably isn't for you unfortunately.
clickbait cringe.
Liar!!!!!!
Just get a PC
I already do and believe it's actually more powerful than the pro, but I enjoy the ease of console gaming more. Having to resolve frame stutter etc for every single game on PC gets tedious for me, and I don't like just turning everything down to the minimum. I love PC for being able to experiment with mods etc and new visual options though :)
I prefer a console, maybe it doesn’t have best graphics. But there’s no cheater and it’s kind easy to play on a console.
@@makojuicedaniel9307 if you want a console buy a console if you want a pc get a pc lol let people buy what they want.
@@Octorious I had the option of a ps5 or a gaming machine abotu a year ago, i choose the gaming machine and I am so glad I did.
@@Octorious The pro is overpriced to try and make up for their failed jab at pedo gaming
What version of the system is installed on the PlayStation 5 PRO?
🪂
They better put the Enhance ps4 games on the normal ps5
I do wonder if they will and if not, what hardware restricts it. It isn't using PSSR so I don't see why it couldn't be ported over. We'll see!
@@Octorious money bruhh, money
@@mukrizshamir8476 Mayyybeee but I can't see anyone deciding to purchase a Pro purely for a slightly sharper image in PS4 titles...I guess I might be wrong there though!
