He's got his flaws, but that could be said about every other character in Persona 5 and the series in general. He's a loveable lil' gremlin and the only thing I'd change about Morgana is have his story arc conclude either with him accepting he's a cat or have him be rewarded with becoming human permenantly, because even in Strikers he still gets offended when people call him a cat.
In the original Persona 5 he'd force the player to go to sleep after a trip to the Metaverse, and during a story related days. This both made a crack funny meme, and also made everyone hate him. When Royal came out the amount of times he'd force you to go to sleep was heavily decreased (Less locking you in during story moments, and you could do activities in LeBlanc after Metaverse trips) and so people started to actually pay attention to this absolute goober and realized that he's a good character. Some people still hold a grudge though.
That can be said about literally every persona character. They all have realistic flaws, and those flaws are what make characters more human and likable overall
Think I like Morgana because he's someone you can root for. He has strong faith but he's disrespected because he's out of touch with reality when it's really not that bad. He does try his best to become more knowledgeable, and the Mementos arc is the highlight of this spirit.

Not gonna lie, if I had to choose between Morgana and Teddie (from Persona 4), I'd actually find a way to choose BOTH. Both are cute, helpful, and probably the best part of their respective games.

Teddie in the japenese version is not only much better and not a creep, he becomes one of the best characters in all of Persona 4, maybe even the entire series. To make a long story short, the translatiors for Persona 4 absolutely goofed, along with these goofs was the entire loss of Teddie's true personality, turning him instead into an annoying creep. Atlus just ran with this for some reason? And now his entire personality in the games he appears in is just him being insufferable. The worst part is that there isn't really any fix to this, since as far as I know, no one has tried to translate the original P4G to what he was actually like. And the only other alternative is learning to reading Japanese, which is a bit of a large ask just to enjoy a character. Tldr: Teddie was much, much better, the translators just goofed.

Honestly, I dunno what Atlus was on when they thought up THAT idea, but whatever it is, they need more of it. I wouldn't say he's better, though. He's in a leauge all on its' own.
Beyond being cute, this is so helpful for me 😭 people keep asking for persona 5 art on AJPW, but I know nothing about it, now I understand enough to make some little pieces
People love to just bash Mona for his gallant attitude and constant verbal abuse towards Ryuji. Let's remember that he's made from Human Nature, so naturally he'd embody all seven sins. Then all comic relief/ best friend characters in Persona (at least 3-5) have someone who verbally abuses or butts heads with them. Yukari for Junpei, Chie and Yukiko for Yosuke, and of course Morgana is that character for Ryuji. I'll admit that part of the game where he storms off is pretty annoying, but many of his good qualities almost outweigh the bad qualities people put above the pros.
The anime, although could’ve been animated better, is somewhat of a treasure because most of the characters have more personality and reduced flaws than in the game Even Ryuji. He’s much more tame here
