How timely this is for me; can hardly wait for the "more coming" post. I keep going back and forth on a Hydrasynth Deluxe or a used Summit. Voice mod with V2 firmware has me really leaning to the former - just brilliant. At the same time Arturia has added per voice "modeling" features to CS-80, Jup 8, Prophet 5, and even Jun 60 to a lesser extent. If they or Native Instruments have Poly AT on their next controllers I could see going that way as well. As one who invested in Komplete Ultimate years ago and upgrades every other time I really like the light guide. Decisions, decisions...
Novation Peak and the ASM Hydrasynth are both on my list of synthesizers I'd really like to own but can't really justify the expense given my current budget... Plus I already own synths that do most of the functions, but not quite all. Oh well, perhaps one day.
Damn I thought it was the 3rdWave, since it has PolyAT support. Can't wait for that 3w video to get released. Whoever is loaning it to Tim must not be in a hurry to get it back :)
Was always going to be the Hydrasynth. An absolute beast of a synth. I have the little Explorer and it's every bit a big synth in a small package. Will be buying another one to go with it soon. Look forward to the video Tim.
Hi. Yes, but I would like Behringer to provide all the midi mapping info I'll need. Not checked myself yet but my understanding is not all details are provided in the documentation.
Thanks! Wonderful sounds, this Synthesizer is a wonderous machine. Love it! Looking forward to your "Hydrasynth Revisited" video! If you listen to the latest official Hydrasynth soundpatches "blush response" and to your beautiful little piece of music, it's almost impossible to believe these two sound characteristics come from the same machine.
I guessed that but I wasn't at all sure I was right because it was simply the first thing that popped into my head rather than any form of expertise in polyphonic aftertouch synths so I had to wait for the reveal.
I bought a Hyrdrasynth for the Polyphonic Aftertouch to control my Deckard's Dream. Within a week I decided to sell the DD and keep the Hydrasynth. It's simply amazing.
Also, forgetting the analog thing, like you make an argument that HS is the best, most versatile digital synth on the market ? I don’t know. Maybe this distinction goes to Summit, as well.
@@allgonewrongful There's a lot of ethical principles that I don't hit 100% on. But it's still worth trying to uphold them. I can't vouch for every component in every product that I buy. But, if I know that something is made in China or by a Chinese company, than I will choose an alternative.
@@LB-pp7pu I see. Which ethnic minority are the Americans currently putting in concentration camps and harvesting organs from? This kind of moral equivalence just shows off your ignorance.
Strange how people experience synths totally different. I won't say the Hydra sounds bad, because bad synths or sounds do not exist. Yes it has a plethora of possibilities which can't be found on other synths. But I don't care for possibilities. I care for sound. And finally I did sell it, like so many other people. Because at the end it sounds digital harsh and thin, and there is no way to change that. And if that is your favorite taste, the Hydra is the best you can buy. I have many, many synths of which some already more than 35 years. But the Hydra didn't even last for more than a month in my studio... In my opinion, a little over hyped 'beast'. At least that was what I discovered after some playing around with it. I traded my Hydra for a Prophet 12. And sorry to say so, but the Hydra rather looks, euh sounds pale in comparison with the P12...
Hydrasynth is such an exciting synth. Very touching playing as well, Tim. I'm looking forward to your full video :-)

I kept waiting for the coming-soon video, but it’s been a year already, hopefully some day!
Loving the content tho, thx a lot, Tim 🫶

I stronly advice you the Summit. And leave the Hydra. Owned it, sold it. But the Summit stays where it is. Sounds 100x more exciting than the Hydra.

really astonishing. You could tell us when the hydrasynth revisited video will come. Cannot wait longer 😅
Very sorry, have had to de-prioritise for the time being 😞
Hah. I guessed right. Though th giveaway clue was what clinched it. Lovely chord sequence. Thank you.

Owner since 2020. Considering the keyboard you were using, the Hydra came to mind. Good combo.
Would you consider doing a fully featured Pro 800
editor in the future when the market is big enough
Similar to the one you made for the Nymphes.

Great sound, Tim!
Recently rekindled my love for my hydrasynth (thanks to one of your previous videos!) - can't wait for this new one 😊
What a lovely yet melancholic piece of music Tim!
You do know, right…we’re all on pins and needles, awaiting details that will be the great reveal in your next video.
I seriously thought immediately of the hydrasynth. You make it sound way better than I do. Looking forward to your next video.
Thanks!

Awesome, i have and love the desktop model, bummer there's no ribbon controller on it though. would be awesome controlled by the Osmose!
Hydra gang! Knew it right away! Sounds lovely! Looking forward to the new video! 😊
Hydrasynth rules!!!! Love and light from Khao Lak, Thailand ❤️🇹🇭☀️🏖🌴🥥🐘
I swear I guessed correctly. It sounds amazing and a beautiful performance
Wow..I thought it's the Super 6. Damn. Kinda wanna have a Hydra even more now. 😑
gorgeous! ☺
I actually guessed correctly, though not from being familiar with the hydrasynth's sound - just guessing at what might have poly aftertouch support.
That's what I use with my LinnStrument :) Perfect pair...

Huh? You urgently need to visit the ear doctor...
@@sK3LeTvM1 Don't you like the sound of the Hydrasynth?
Super beautiful Sir Tim!!!
Any idea when this hydra revisited is coming? I'm very interested in your opinions ^^
Mr. Card has some nice Hydrasynth demos including one that is uncannily close to a Fender Rhodes piano.
Aw c’mon that’s not a hydra synth surely it’s a dx7 through the big sky ? Surely I wasn’t the only one to think that ?
Brilliant! I’ll have to try that…
One of my favourite synths!
My first reaction, before seeing it, to the title was: the one you play on and keep on playing 🙂
I guessed it was a digital synth but I thought it was the Iridium or the Mellotron
Osmose controlling the Hydrasynth. The Expressive Synth Singularity has been attained.
Hydrasynth - It sounds beautiful
That was very pretty!
hydrasynth

Akai Timbre Wolf?
What patch is that? I dont recall any great synthetic EP patch and now want to check it out!
It's not a factory preset, it's one I created.
@@TimShoebridge It's a wonderful preset Tim! Funny that some people don't seem to realise that synths are so much more than preset machines.
Sublime
I guessed that it was digital. Was thinking maybe a Quantum or Iridium. I'd love to get a Hydrasynth, but I don't buy Chinese products on principle.
I do the same but with products from the Usa
You fail at that every day i'm afraid.
