Thank you so much! This helped tremendously with replacing the battery in my phone! Went off without a hitch!

My advice would be to leave this to professionals, seriously... The video is very well done that's not the point but it is so easy to harm your phone it is not worth the job to do in on your own.
I did the change correctly but the screen was then blurry and no longer touch sensitive, I could have it fixed at a store nearby and the guy told me it is very important to use the correct screws in their exact order - if not you can cause an internal electric cut when turning your phone on again that could burn the whole circuit.
Also, as other people here in the comments, the home button is now no longer working. Apparently the small piece that makes the connection got lost in the process of taking the battery out (by far the worst part) so I also have now to buy a new one (they have to change the whole part) and have it installed properly.
I would seriously not recommend to do this on your own unless you are really absolutely confident you can do it correctly.
Just bring your phone to a professional to avoid further brokage that incur in more money spent eventually...

It will be 2022 in a few months but I'm a cheapskate so I'm still using my iPhone 5C. Had the battery replaced maybe two or three years ago with a non-genuine one and battery life is already pretty poor. I'll probably buy the iPhone 13 when it comes out.

Does it need to be fully charged before it turns on ?

I have fixed phones before and i am fluent in what i am doing but this seems like a very delicate procedure. When it is over does the phone loose all of its memory and have to start over or does it keep its memory?

i have looked at several instructions, none of you mentioned about the push button wiring ( how to remove that so the screen can be lifted up to a 90 degree angle )

Great video! Managed to replace the battery successfully but now the silent button doesn’t work. The phone is always on loud even when the silent button is activated. Please help!

MacSales. com thanks for the response. I did open the phone again and rechecked all the connections. Unfortunately that didn’t fix the issue. The silent button and volume buttons are not working.

      Yes, that was the case.
One of the plugs came loose cuz socket didnt want to hold it like others. So it was a bit tricky to keep it connected.

Why remove the screen/connections? The battery connections are no where near the screen connections. Pop the top, remove the 2 screws and pull the adhesive and swap and your good.

The only thing I have to add is make sure your phone is warm, 'cuz that adhesive DOES NOT release if it's cold!

I don't get why you have to remove the screen? it's not even remotely related to the battery??

    • @rutokorir3041
      @rutokorir3041 7 лет назад +1

is the metal plate that secures the screen connection somehow impeding the removal of the battery .....because just by looking at it ....seems like I could just pry out the battery without tampering with the screen connection.

It looks to me that it isn't 100 percent necessary to remove the screen, but it will make it easier to have the screen removed so your not having to hold it up the whole time.

Wrong. First step is to disconnect the battery so you will not fry the LCD
