Thank you so much for this information. I just did this to my 2016 SER 300 with 469 hours and it starts like new with the filed down KTM brushes. so STOKED!!!
Can confirm and happily endorse the mentioned KTM brushes. Super easy modification/install and with using two cheap tweezers with o-rings for clamping pressure to hold the brushes/springs in while you insert the commutator (idea from a Slavens video who he gave credit to someone else in it) the whole job was pretty easy.
