Really crazy that he is 61 years old and still look like he did 20 years ago, while Steve Vai is 57 and looks like he has really aged this last decade.

I have been listening Joe's playing since the day of surfing with alien. I have seen Joe playing live two times. I have a photo of Joe in the door of my fridge, taken by me. I have played in local Ibanez shop each and every Joes guitar including the chrome one and surfing guitar. Joe has been influental in my gtr playing over 20 years. This time he finally hits the nail, finally. Instead of being guitar god he is musically great. All is well in guitardom !
this is one of my fav song from his new album. What Happens Next? is an awesome album from beginning to end, you will not use the "skip" button on this cd. One of the best Satch's album for me and certainly his best over the decade. The next one Cherry Blossom is good too!
Geez. I watched this on the train and I legit almost cried at one point. So emotional. Ugh. This is such a simple composition compared to some of his opuses but there's sth really pure and even joyful here. Good. Sooooo goood
"Legit almost cried at one point" Right?! When I saw this live I had heard it for the first time, and almost exploded in emotion during the solo...especially with those lightning bolts on the screen in the background. This is when you know musicians are THAT GOOD.
I´ve said this and I´ll keep saying: Joe may not be the best guitar ever, technically speaking, but his groove and compositions are simply incredible! I prefer listening to this than Petrucci, Vai or Malmsteen.
Like Buckethead He creates great songs. Some of those other guys you mentioned can shred but they can’t creatively come up with anything I want to listen to
I prefer them all. They all have something unique to offer. The neo-classical shit Malmsteen throws into his stuff gets me everytime. And Petrucci's technical ability and music understanding is on a different planet.
He broke out with blazing fire 🔥 in this song, away from some of his more stale moments in albums before this one. Satch lighting the fret board ablaze once more, folks!
attended the G3 in Firenze, Joe was great , I think he should add some of the earliest music in the concerts....as these are still quite catching and innovative...!
He, Jon Anderson and Geddy Lee should get together and hold an anti-aging concert. Pretty savvy of him to pick this look early and stick with it. If you can't see the grey, you can't see the years.
@lloyd2112DT how did you film this? In Minneapolis it was forbidden to film, or even take photos! Thanks for sharing though. Best concert I've seen in a LONG TIME. Where was yours? It is not mentioned
The top string seems to be tuned to Eb4. All strings might just be tuned down a half step, but I'm not sure. He might be using an effect to pitch shift it down an octave for the tapping part.
Effects are going to be fun to figure out, I think you may be on to something with the pitch shift. I've seen covers of it saying Eb tuning as well except nobody seems to play it on just one string like he did here.
Phil Collen played for 30 minutes, I think Petrucci and Satriani played for 45 minutes each, and they jammed for 20 minutes. And then everyone spent an hour trying to get out of the parking garage because so many people were trying to leave at once...
Still listening to this masterpiece in 2020. Thanks for posting man.
That solo... so beautiful !!💥💫
This song worth the full G3's show. Awesome!!
It's good to see Satch like his former self.... Supercharged! What a riff! And also, age doesn't seem to touch him! Fantastic!
Really crazy that he is 61 years old and still look like he did 20 years ago, while Steve Vai is 57 and looks like he has really aged this last decade.
Nothing can beat the chrome domed legend. 61 years of age and he’s still rocking as if he’s 30 again. What a man
@@thatnorwegianguy1986 cause he's an alien lol

Saw this alien of guitar live in Perth two nights ago. This song was the highlight of the set for me. Absolutely incredible.
I have been listening Joe's playing since the day of surfing with alien.

All is well in guitardom !
It's time to get a tattoo or a new haircut now
Saw this live in Boston and to say that it was amazing is a crazy understatement

Satch always reminds us what its all about after all... in the end..... so organic

Me too in Oslo right ?
It was a phenomenal concert. Saw it about a month and a half ago... awesome awesome awesome!
Oh yes. When he play a song I like his stuff.
This is magnificent!!
I´ve said this and I´ll keep saying: Joe may not be the best guitar ever, technically speaking, but his groove and compositions are simply incredible! I prefer listening to this than Petrucci, Vai or Malmsteen.
Technically speaking he is one of the best but his playing style is way different when compared to players like Petrucci or Malmsteen.
I prefer Peter Green or Richie Blackmore
Like Buckethead He creates great songs. Some of those other guys you mentioned can shred but they can’t creatively come up with anything I want to listen to
I prefer them all. They all have something unique to offer. The neo-classical shit Malmsteen throws into his stuff gets me everytime. And Petrucci's technical ability and music understanding is on a different planet.
Imagine being such a phenomenal guitarist that you're the rhythm player for a legend.
SAW LAST NIGHT ! GREAT SHOW !!
Thank you! Now I can know how to play that awesome riff!
He should open every show with this one
He broke out with blazing fire 🔥 in this song, away from some of his more stale moments in albums before this one.
Satch lighting the fret board ablaze once more, folks!
This is fucking sick. Can’t wait to see them in Jacksonville.

i wish he never got into 'guitar heroes' thing in the 80s..hed be so good in a rock band..Chickenfoot really suits him..great at rock!
What camera was this shot with? the quality is spectacular.
El que hace teclados y guitarra 2 es un buen musico
does he do this on his world tour in concert? ustralian tour at least? im only going to hear this song live..if i go.
Would love to see Joe and Buckethead tour together.
Master is back with a great riff and melody... tapping is awesome... I wanna play this song. Which tuning is this ??? Anybody have an idea ?
I read an interview saying he's in Eb for most of the album.
James Hissey Yes.. its Eb
Tuning is Eb, but he's playing tapping on 1st string, and I think he use Whammy or octaver for it, beacuse it sounds 1 octave lower than 1st string.
1:50_____2:57
@lloyd2112DT how did you film this? In Minneapolis it was forbidden to film, or even take photos! Thanks for sharing though. Best concert I've seen in a LONG TIME. Where was yours? It is not mentioned
Where was this played live as it looks familiar as I saw him right when this album came out too? Was it in NY?
Can anyone tell what tuning he is in? Trying to learn that intro since the video is so clear
The top string seems to be tuned to Eb4. All strings might just be tuned down a half step, but I'm not sure. He might be using an effect to pitch shift it down an octave for the tapping part.

God, this is so fucking catchy
Il est le maitre du son.
How much did the show last?
Phil Collen played for 30 minutes, I think Petrucci and Satriani played for 45 minutes each, and they jammed for 20 minutes.
And then everyone spent an hour trying to get out of the parking garage because so many people were trying to leave at once...
Roughly 2,5 hours on most G3's ive been too :)
Jeff Bezos can play a mean guitar.
Love the 15 haters down ....they still struggling with the guitar. Lol
Пойдём с друзьями в Москве!
He's pretty good on the geetar...
Lloyd of Pacifica ?
За...сь, четко...
play Fender Quad Reverb or Dumble SSS :)
who's on drums?
Joe Scorpion and The Inspectoids
His name is Joe Travers. He's better known for being the keeper of Frank Zappa's vault.
Joe, your strings are short, sorry. I buy strings on speshial shop. Thank you for all. Your music is great.
Sounds like" It ain't my fault" by Brothers Osborne
This drummer works better Then Marco.
didnt know johnny sins could play the guitar
That chorus riff is kinda stoner rock...
Lil wayne still better than joe
