Grey RTV (such as Loctite 599) is what a lot of newer Cummins oil pans are sealed with. The Permetex, in my experience, is too brittle and starts cracking when the tin flexes. Some people swear by it, but the 599 I think is better. Only thing we use on oil pans on Cummins rebuilds at work. The gasket you have looks like it was for a VE pump cover and not a P-pump. Also, the front seals in those engines are meant to be installed from the back of the cover. If you look on the back of the cover it has a really large radius and it makes getting the seal started MUCH easier.
Who doesn't love opening boxes of new parts? It's like Christmas any time of the year.

Hey there Alex! I had to take a hiatus on it but I do still have it. I'm going to upgrade some new things like the transmission which costs $$$ plus I'm working, building another platform and helping out artists with their music. I believe 2020 I should have parts start coming in here around spring when the weather isn't too bad to make videos as well.
