As a mechanic myself, I can see you're gonna do a good job with your build. You take the time to figure out how to do it right, instead of getting frustrated an just forcing it. You van live channel just went to a whole notha level!!!!
I like your planning style and adaptability. This makes for truly genuine and interesting content. Seeing your van build as you go, test and travel is very unique I believe. Most van lifers show little bits of the build beg/end in 1 video, kinda ho-hum.
I don’t think you have been watching the correct ppl doing a van build than. I’ve seen several van lifers build, not one, but several van builds that they have gone from one van to another. I mean super van builds with the long Mercedes’ van rebuilds.
I agree that you do not have to be confined to a van to be a van lifer or nomad. I just watched a van lifer go on a cruise to Alaska and was absolutely glued to the television, watching her adventure. I really enjoyed it when you rented a tiny house during your adventure with the Astro. Build the van like you want it and take us along on your adventure. Thanks, Mateo.
I'm confused, i thought you had driven off into the sunset to do your build on the road? Must have missed something. Anyway, it really makes sense to do your basic infrastructure in a place where you have electricty and don't have to worry about permission to park. Even as hot as it is! I'm trapped in Missipp, family reasons, so i know how hot and humid you are experiencing. Keep on keeping on!

I saw you originally screw the ladder over the door and thought “oh my” 😅 Great job on that fan installation!!! Am so happy you didn’t slide off 😂😂❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Great video, you made me laugh and then the mouth watering bit at the end! Oh yeah! Yum! I was thinking about the ladder when you blocked the door, glad you re-thought that 😂 I live off-grid, & want to let you know a broom (or hand broom) is way more easy to use I these situations. A hand vac is nice for some situations, but broom wins overall. I've learned over the years that less is best with electronics, bc when winter comes, these items aren't practical if the sun isn't shining as much. Also wanted to share my favorite potato fry with you. I peel and chop to the desired size/shape, then after rinsing starch off, boil them for about 2 minutes. Drain them and finish them off in the skillet. Depending on your taste, fry them in olive oil &/or butter with salt and pepper. You end up with nicely browned chips that are soft in the middle. So delicious as a side dish, but my favorite companion with these are sunny-side up eggs. That's a staple for days when I need a filling breakfast. Hi to Lars, too ❤❤❤
Bro!!! You are very inspiring! I love that you are willing to take risks and (occasionally) make mistakes; too many people are afraid of the chance of failing, but overcoming that is the only way to truly live (and learn)! Thank you for visiting Washington State (in the past) and I hope you come back. I am starting my own van build adventure soon, and you and Ryan Twomey are my spirt animal guides, lol!!!

Mateo take your time. I’ve added things as I go. My first years, I installed what I felt were my essentials. As time went by, I added and removed items that weren’t serving me. I love my Maxx Van. It’s the best!!! I run it most of the time and always turn it on while I’m cooling . I found a little cabinet and used it for my kitchen. With your ecelectic taste, I’m sure you’ll find something funky that will be the perfect kitchen for you . Take your time, be creative and enjoy the journey 💞🙏🏽🎈

Seeing your van build as you go, test and travel is very unique I believe. Most van lifers show little bits of the build beg/end in 1 video, kinda ho-hum.
Thank you! I’m glad you’re enjoying the content!
Your subscribers love you :) 🙏🏻💕
I don’t think you have been watching the correct ppl doing a van build than. I’ve seen several van lifers build, not one, but several van builds that they have gone from one van to another. I mean super van builds with the long Mercedes’ van rebuilds.
I see. I don’t watch any regularly except Mateo. I meant traveling in a van and building as they go tho… not one van to another :)
The cutting scene from inside the Van was cool.
Congratulations on your fan. You did a fantastic job 👏 👍
Thanks so much! 😊
i would check to make sure with inspection garage to see if you can have a ladder sticking off the side.
I’ve only been watching for a couple months. I just want you to know I really enjoy your channel. You are a happy person with an awesome cat and I love your attitude. Keep up the good work. Love that cute sweet cat ❤❤
Loving the content, Mateo but running 10+ adds for a video is pretty wild 🦁🦓
I did not see you put any sealant on the fan , you don’t want leaks in , love your energy and outlook on life , respect
Bro that view from the bottom of you cutting that last part was epic lol I felt like it got sunny everywhere in the world when your face popped into view. Great job broz. You’re doing a great job I know Lars is as proud of you as we all are. Much love and respect 🫡
Thank you so much!!
Enjoy your new fan Mateo. You did a great job.
Thank you so much ❤️
the funny thing about noteriety is once you get some it can make you rethink everything you do to the point you become confused on who you really are and why you do what you do. best of luck man
10:21 Hi Mateo 😅😅😅😅 YAAY I'm so excited for you. It's coming together. As a women I've gotten to the point being afraid of going hiking or walking by myself because of all the evil going on. I watched your videos when those guys were following you. I'm scared 😱 😨
Mateo please put your music in these videos I LOVE THAT!
I love your ideas and how different your doing the van. I would recommend to treat your wood so it won't get mold. I did see this happen to a van lifer and she had to redo her floors due to water leaks. But I enjoy your content and lairs. He would probably like my birds. Keep it coming. Love it.
@winterisbluui no problem keep doing what you enjoy can't wait for next adventure
Make sure to water proof all holes you drill or saw! Love these videos! And now I have also subscribed to your sister, so much fun!
Loved seeing your smiling face in the hole you drilled for the fan! Well done!
dude the wiring for the fan was so good. i don’t know why i never thought of that. i’m about to do it for my set up. thanks.
you are the most helpful van builder on this app tbh, you don't spare details yet you make everything perfectly understandable for beginner level learners, thankyou!
I'm so glad to hear you say that you're going to build your van the way you want it and not worry about anybody else's way! Except Lars of course! Gotta listen to kitty! Love your videos!❤❤❤❤❤
I saw you originally screw the ladder over the door and thought “oh my” 😅
Great job on that fan installation!!!
Awesome vid as always. I am sad when your vids end. 😭Just watched your sisters first two van life uploads in the astro . She is as beautiful a soul as you. ☺️🤌🏾😍🔥♥️♥️💯
@@BougieFeral She Can Do All Things 🤌🏾♥️👑
And she really can. Jack of all trades like bro 😍👑
Great Video!
I'm glad you were safe in the middle of this.
Looking good so far!
I love the unconventional route you're taking. Probably the most authentic van lifer out there. Look forward to the future videos!!
That tape around the where you’re cutting is genius wonderful idea
Love your van build, can’t wait to go on trips and see how cosy it looks when the build is eventually completed.
To thine own self, be true! Love you BiG!
Water seal caulking around the cutout including the drill out holes is helpful for a project of this type.
21:01 NICE MATEO! That’s going to help a lot cooling you and Lars and pulling out the cooking air! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😃
Why would you sweep dust at us. Rude 😂😂 You are so fun to watch. Your enthusiasm comes through this video and all the rest. I would have been scared to death to cut that whole. You tackled it with determination to get it done. Thanks for sharing the journey. Give Lars a hug from me
Be safe. 😊
U r just doing great. Kudos to you ❤
Thank you so much 😀
U r very welcome. Why did u call your cat lars.
Be Blessed I thought u said your name was potato lol. But I got it Mate?. And when u were starting drilling u sounded so British. That's where I'm from but I live in NC.
Hi Mateo,
Another great video! All the skills you will learn building out your van are transferable to life lessons I.e. self reliance, patience, determination, resourcefulness, problem solving and so many more. You never cease to amaze me with your culinary skills. I want you to know that I always look forward to your videos.
Since you choosing the name for the van that’s still has to do with outer space can we go back to being called astronauts???
Your username touched my spirit. It's profound for sure. 😭♥️
@@Poeticfloetic thank you, I usually use the caterpillar 🐛 transitioning into the butterfly 🦋 to represent it with emojis
We are Astro nots now 😅andromeda is the name of a planet is it?? It sounds spacey anyway
Or what about Andromenauts 😂
You are a beautiful soul hun. I hope you know that. 🤗♥️@@The_Screw_Up_Who_Grew_Up
I really appreciate the scary camera angles and working on the roof of your new van. Thanks for all the effort that went into including us in your build. I can't wait to see more. I also really like your meal preps!
Good job! Love the ladder.
The MaxxAir fan was a fun part for me. However, mine had a bad leak, I now have to buy a new fan and seal it much better. A dented roof was my issue.
Great content! One of my sons is just starting his van life journey, he just bought a 12 foot box van that is a partial build out, he has a walk thru, bed, counter, desk. No sink or bathroom, shower yet, it will come. He is super excited, only trips to beach & mountains in Washington State for now...🎉😊
When you swept dust and debris out of the van, I stifled a cough. 😂
Thanks for keeping it real.😅
Awesome job you are in the Grove 😊
2:00 that uk impression was too good😂
U.K has a series of accents loool It was giving Eaton Private School Graduate from London. ❤ Sincerely Londoner 🇬🇧
I know I liked it too 😊
I so look forward to these updates! I literally sit here through the entire video with the biggest smile on my face! This is so inspiring Mateo! Such a positive, hopeful and kind vibe! Thank you for sharing your journey with us, peace and love to you and Lars. 🌻
I really appreciate it! Glad you’re enjoying !
Love it! It was wild when you drilled that first hole! 🤪.
You are such a humble pleasant guy to listen to. Refreshing. Be blessed. Much love.❤️
Looks great. No more Philly Cheese Steak air freshener.
Lol
Awesome ✨
Mateo ! Eco-Naughts . . Ford eco van . . Think about it
22:05 this is soooooo exciting!!!!! 🎉congratulations!!!!
Congratulations !
Mateo, just a suggestion, maybe glue down rubber on the steps of your ladder, so they are not slippery. Looking out for your safety and well being. You are doing an excellent job! You will be surprise what you will learn and find what you are good at! Hugs and blessings!
Great job!!!
Good Job, Mateo! The Van is coming along Great & you're learning In the Process! Make it "BECOME" Whatever "U" "ENVISION IT TO BE"! "ENJOY THE PROCESS"! 🤗😘🙌
I got off TikTok so quick 🤣😂 love you Matteo and Lars 💚👑
Amazing stuff mayne…
Put good in, get good out… Simple
P.S. When I first heard Scenario at the release, it was one of the craziest songs ever. When Busta became Busta🔥🔥🔥🔥
I died when he bought to little baby vacuum out lol that aint goin get all that saw dust up lol
Now why would you start that project knowing it bout to rain! 😂
I absolutely admire your drive and ambition however I’m going to say something that most wouldn’t bc I truly believe they aren’t being genuine. Although you have 3 weeks you should work smarter, bc your taking on certain task things will already be hard. You dnt want to delay your trip or waste time bc of things you can easily avoid. Just keep that in mind! Safe travels!
Ooo I’m early! Just wanted to say that I’m really enjoying your channel! I’m going through some severe depression and anxiety due to medical conditions and your videos feel like a breath of fresh air. I feel relaxed and can focus on something other than my sh*tty situation right now. Thank you for being you! I hope you have fun and safe travels and I look forward to more of your videos ❤
I told my husband “When the kids get old enough, we’re living the van life. Period. “
After raising 5 kids I need a long break and I love to travel. I haven’t traveled in many years. I feel like that’s what’s missing in my life.
I want to see just how big and beautiful America is… I’m tired of living vicariously through you van life creators! 😂😂😂❤
Same 😅 I think you speak for all parents 😂 we all have those dreams to just van or RV life it and travel once the kids fly the nest.
Been waiting I knew it was Thursday drop day
Hey Mateo and Lars !!!! Nice to see you guys!!!! Definitely worth the wait!!!! Drilling holes is just the beginning of the van build!!! Take your time and make it special and yours!!!
Peace and love Mateo and Lars can't wait for the next adventure!!!! Be Free!!
Maybe you can try using some liquid welding to fill those holes from the ladder installment to help prevent rust before your paint
I love watching Vanlife videos where people get their hands dirty and do projects on their own.
I was never skilled or brave enough to do my own projects until I started watching my fellow nomads do it.
I purchased a Four Wheel Camper-Hawk Slide-In for my Chevy Silverado (my home on wheels) and I watched a lot of DIY videos and was able to build everything myself. Extremely thankful for this side of social media / RUclips. 🖤
9:17 Great camera shot! I love that u put a camera on the inside too. Great idea.
Oh thank God, now I don't have to worry about you two dying from carbon monoxide poisoning. Stay safe ❤
Anyone that names their cat Lars has got to be pretty cool. I subscribed to watch the van transformation 😊
Man i wish my views went up this fast! Youre really killin it man. Excited for you to be back on the road soon! Peace to you n Lars 🫶🏽
Glad you came to your senses and grabbed a broom
Awesome
14:00 Yeah. Not a lot of room up there. Be careful Mateo!
I’m amazed people can do things they’ve never done before now just by watching RUclips videos!
Waay yo go Mateo! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I LOVE how you always shake your head after your first bite.
The van is looking great... floor looks AWESOME!!! KEEP GOING ❤
Great job, Mateo! I love your determination. I'm a little late to the party, so I'm sure others have already said this: Please be sure you've sealed around all the holes and cuts you've made. Otherwise, keep it up, internet nephew! Auntie's so proud of you! ❤😊
