- Based in Dorset in the UK, Monkey World is the largest monkey and ape rescue centre on the planet. For nearly three decades, the team has saved countless primates - across 20 countries - from lives of cruelty, abuse, and neglect.
This safe haven is now home to more than 200 monkeys and apes. The dedicated staff never stop in their quest to save animals from being mistreated by owners, ending up in laboratories or being exploited in the entertainment industry.

THATS SUCH A GREAT IDEA! I THINK ALLISON WOULD GO FOR IT IF IT INVOLVED SOMETHING TO DO WITH DEFEATING THE EXOTIC TRADE WORLD AND COMBATTING IT. AFTERALL THAT WAS THE MISSION FOR THIS PLACE WHEN HER LATE HUSBAND STARTED IT IN THE 90'S. OR MAYBE ON TOP IF PAYING FOR ROOM AND BOARD THAT GUESTS OFFERED TO DO SOME LABOR OR ANYTHING TO HELP OUT AND NOT JUST BE ANOTHER THING TO ENTERTAIN HAHA...IM SURE SHE HAS HAD LOTS OF IDEAS PASS BY HER MIND AND OFFICE. I WOULD ABSOLOYTELY BE ALL OVER YOUR IDEA THOUGH. I WOULD SIGN UP RIGHT AWAY! THAT SERIOUSLY SOUNDS LIKE A DREAM COME TRUE. IM ESPECIALLY FACISNATED BY ORANGUTANS AND HAVE BEEN FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS, WITH MY FIRST LITTLE SNIP BIT OF FOOTAGE THAT GOT ME INTERESTED WAS OF BULU MATA WHEN HE WAS AN INFANT . WATCHING JEREMY INTERACTING WITH HIM AND SEEING HIS EXPRESSIONS WAS AMAZING TO ME. SINCE THEN IVE BEEN VERY KEEN OF THEM AND LEARNING ALL ABOUT THEM HAS BEEN SUPER FUN FOR ME. I love seeing the care staff branching out to guide new monkey-folk home. Will never tire of Allison and Jeremy and OG crew, but people newly making those journeys means a longer reach for the future of the important work at Monkey World.

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again! I think that's one of the most impressive attributes that all the Staff & Carers at Monkey World have. They don't give up on any of the animals in their care, and even those that are not yet part of the Monkey World Family. It is an Amazing thing that Allison remembers the Chimp that they were unable to rescue years ago, and I know she will Try, & Try Again to give that chimpanzee a better life, one way or another!🙏🏼🙏🏿🙏♥️♥️♥️
I remember when Hujun when he was a little baby watched video's on him he was such a little cutie now he is going to monkey he is still such a cutie
Hujun is a very lucky boy,leaving Krefeld Zoo before the fire that destroyed the ape house, leaving 30 animals dead, some of which were his family..
Oh wow when did that happen ? I love all the baby Orange and gorilla's and love the Bonobo's to they don't believe in fighting anything like tht they believe in love they r the sweetest

A mother and her two daughters released Chinese Laterns with lit candles in them to celebrate the New Year,which landed on the ape house roof and set it alight.
That poor little orangutan. So sad that his family died so tragically in that terrible zoo fire along with so many other apes.

When l was a child my parents always put on TV TARZAN on black in white TV 1950s . I was in love with cheeta his monkey. All my life monkeys are my favorite animal.

They should make a law that people cannot have wild animals of any kind. If found the people could face jail and a hefty fine ! So this will not continue. These animals deserve better. Thank you for all you do for them !!!

Unfortunately, there is the black market and the illegal pet trade that will be almost impossible to stop, regardless whether having a wild animal as a pet is outlawed or not. There is just too much money to be made. Especially with long tail macaques being used in laboratory experiments and testing.
Totally agree. Circuses and show animals should be illegal too. They should use adult humans instead...appalling but we're all species and humans should know what these animals go through.

Just read that Hujan’s family in Germany was killed in a zoo fire on January 1, 2020. So sad they had no way to get out.
Poor Kitty looks terrible, almost skeleton like. Here’s hoping the care team finds a vitamin or food that will help reverse this illness, whatever it is.
I miss Geremy and the other guy who usually go get the Orangutans and bring them home. I guess they are giving the younger people ashot.
They are still there at Monkey World. Just as with Allison, can't go on every rescue. The caretakers are the ones that primates see and interact with the most, so it does kind of make sense caretakers go sometimes.👍

Orangutans are not the only primate in the park. Monkey World is the name of the park, Monkey Life is the name it was called on the series. There are way more monkeys than apes in the park, also. But when it all comes down to it, it is nobody's business what Jim and Jeremy named the rescue/rehabilitation center!🐒😁
