  • these are the top guns to buy and the most populare at the moment.
didn't include the milwaukee are as it cannot be fixed outside warrenty and the hikoki is just as powerful.
also the hikoki is called Metabo HTC in the US and Canada.
The Makita gun I would not recommend anymore. Seem to be having trouble sinking 50mm nails.

    Great Review Dean.
Who better to review tools than the man who fixes them all day long

Really enjoy these type of comparisons. The tool review world is full of people who’ve never spent more than a couple hours with the tool, let alone take it apart. You focus on what matters, and have a sizable amount of evidence backing up your claims.
I’d enjoy a comparison of the various compact sds drills if you ever find a few in the shop at once. Cheers

We have both the first and second fix hikoki, 1st fix is an amazing piece of kit, just works everytime you pull the trigger. The 2nd fix though has from new seemed under powered. It won't sink a nail into any timer with the rubber tip fitted, and won't sink a nail below the surface of hard wood even without the tip fitted, that's set at full depth on the adjuster wheel.

Great review mate. I don’t suppose you had had any dealings with the Makita 40v nail gun? Not sure whether to go for that, the 18v Makita or jump over to the cheap Dewalt? 👊

Can you please make a video explaining what makes a tool good? For example you dont like Milwaukee and why is that? They are so popular especially here in Sweden are more and more contractors going for them just because how great they are.
How are other brands like AEG/Ridgid?
Can you see any differences between China made tools, for example Makita in Sweden have mostly European or Japanese made tools.
    Best regards.

Iv got 65,000 nails in a 18g milwaukee. Gas finally leaked out. Repumped and cleaned and it's firing like new. I'm not sure how you dislike them. Most electronic parts seemed replaceable as well

Where or how did you clean it and refill the gas?

@@deandohertygreaser good to know thanks! I use the Dewalt myself. It’s great when it’s working but not so good when it’s not. Appreciate your vids! It’s help me out a lot fixing my own tools!

would like to see a teardown of a milwaukee tool from there and from here in the us and see if they parts are any different especially because of the longer warranty we have here in the states i imagine theyd have to use better parts

That particular makita gun , is the worst nailgun I’ve ever bought, absolutely dreadful.. sold it straight away , so so poor .
