Nice train. Wartime military trains usually ran in fleets! Vehicle trains like this, supply & equipment (boxcars & trailer trucks), and troop trains (personnel) - long strings of sleepers. It took several trains to move a battalion.
Yes, and this is only one third of my vehicle loads. I also have a troop train with ten troop sleepers, one troop diner, one Union Pacific heavyweight diner and eight heavyweight Pullman sleepers. Thanks for your interest.
Me and my family mostly model east coast railways. But I found a prototype photo of 2 challengers spewing smoke out fighting the grade to pull a long military consist, and after that I knew I had to at least do some west coast modeling. Got a pretty hefty 45 car consist loaded with all sorts of military vehicles and supplies. And 2 equally as hefty challengers to pull the train. Wish I had as much detail on the cars as these ones though. Beautiful layout.
Most of the vehicles are resin kits from Heiser Models. Others are upgraded and painted ROCO models. Some are resin kits from Fidelis Models, and a couple are kits from eastern Europe. None were "ready to run". All have added detail, decals and paint.
@@warrenfrost6033 It's a crying shame that Mike Wolf of MTH lost interest in the hobby, including HO, and broke up his company to sell it off in pieces. In my humble opinion, his proprietary DCS Proto Sound digital control and sound system were far more intuitive and user friendly methods of controlling model trains than DCC and Lionel's TMCC systems. Hundreds of thousands of us MTH fans were heartbroken when Mike left the moribund hobby that his innovative passion and competitive instincts had almost singlehandedly rejuvenated and resurrected to what it is today. 🐻🇺🇲
Each one of these cars were hand weathered, one of a kind, absolutely beautiful to see in person. Thanks for posting
Thank you!
Absolutely magnificent! The military loads are just perfect, and the exquisite weathering makes it all so believable. Well done! 🐻🇺🇲
Thank you!
