So many people complain about phones being "boring" or "generic" in 2021. Me? I'd take being able to buy amazing quality flagship killing phones that can be bought for 300 USD rather than the 2010 or 2015 experience of paying 600 USD for a phone just because it has an "innovation," a dumb phone with a translucent keypad or a mediocre smartphone with some modular bs.
@@wheezel55 Idiot. If company didnt experiment then we wouldnt have such great features now. People would still be buying big thick bezel small phones with single camera. There is different market for different users.
I have a few questions: Does it really have a metal frame? Is the refresh rate really adaptive? I've watched some RUclipsrs saying that it only supports either constant 120hz or 60hz.
I'm really tempted to buy this because I don't think flagships are worth the money. I think I'll be much more fulfilled with a mid-level handset. I have owned the Galaxy S21 ultra and Galaxy Fold 2 (probably two of the most expensive phones in the world) and after about a month, the excitement fades and they become pretty boring. And you're stuck with a £1200 device you're terrified of breaking! When you own a flagship, all you're thinking about is selling it

@@icom1208 i'll be getting the POCO F3 once the white variant is available. thanks for the feedback. Might i ask what were your other options you considered before choosing the F3?
It seems that Poco is trying to create its own niche by tapping a portion of flagship and mid-range specially those in the gaming side of things. I actually bought this during Introductory price and I am satisfied since I'm not really into camera and all.
I'm watching this using my pocophone f1 bought just a couple of months after release.. i'm still thinking if i even need to change phones despite this not having 5g. Poco as a company makes really good phones that can last years so maybe on the next release of the poco f-series i'll buy a new one. If you're buying a new phone I'm sure F3 would be a great Midrange phone to buy. It's quality surpassed its price and will surely last you years much like how my poco F1 is still my trusted phone in 2021.
An advice to POCO. If you truly want to become a flagship-killer brand. Never drop the 3.5mm jacks. Nobody likes those pesky dongles and the trouble of charging bluetooth earphones. This could’ve been the perfect midrange phone but no headphone jack = no buy. Down with these companies creating problems to sell solutions.
I own the Poco X3 Pro and like other people have reported. My X3 Pro has constant drop calls. And the long range cell is horrible because it doesnt have the proper frequencies. I talk to the T-Mobile rep girl 2 weeks ago. And she told me that the phone is missing the MOST important frequencies for long range and proper LTE coverage. Such as 12, 71, 700, 1900 and 2100 which T-Mobile most use for all their device connections on the network. I really love my Poco X3 Pro, the only thing that is wrong with the phone is that people have to constantly tell me that they can not hear me. And its a brand new phone. its because the audio gargles when people speak and that is due to the phone not having proper frequencies that is needed to get a strong and clear connection. Xiaomi SERIOUSLY need to implement the 12, 71, 700, 1900 and 2100 frequencies in their devices, because right now my phone is just a $350 coaster.
Hey Will! Any significant performance difference in day to day use between the X3 Pro and F3? Leaning a little toward the X3 Pro but seeing F3 870 chipset is really bugging me.
I have two questions now: 1) another reviewer said the Poco F3 has IP57 water resistance, what's the truth? 2) no one else said the screen can go down to 30hz, they all said it is locked at 120 or 60, could you please explain? I'm genuinely curious, because I've ordered the phone and wanna know all that it is really capable of doing and not doing
no, it's not adaptive, yet. it will be with miui 12.5, which is only released in some regions right now. there is no water resistance RATING, but there is water resistance as shown by the sealings on the ports.

There have been updates after the issue was notices, and the issue still persist.. looks like a hardware mechanism that can't be fixed with an update.
Do not buy with hopes for an update
Hi Will, when are going to air your Pixel 5 Review??? Excited of your Pixel Reviews
I started working at sub way just to collect money for this phone
So many people complain about phones being "boring" or "generic" in 2021. Me? I'd take being able to buy amazing quality flagship killing phones that can be bought for 300 USD rather than the 2010 or 2015 experience of paying 600 USD for a phone just because it has an "innovation," a dumb phone with a translucent keypad or a mediocre smartphone with some modular bs.
Exactly lmao I don't want a popup camera that will make it break if I drop it or a folding screen for £2000
@@wheezel55 Idiot. If company didnt experiment then we wouldnt have such great features now. People would still be buying big thick bezel small phones with single camera.
There is different market for different users.
Well it's got almost all for a gaming phone except a good camera.. jus be glad y'all xD for this price range it's a beast
Watching with my realme6 and it like shit.. f3 will be my destination 💗
I have a few questions:
Does it really have a metal frame?
Is the refresh rate really adaptive? I've watched some RUclipsrs saying that it only supports either constant 120hz or 60hz.
I use a poco x3 nfc and I can say adaptive refresh rate is most likely coming back with miui 12.5 which Xiaomi phones will receive in Q2 of 2021
Wouldn't variable refresh rate requires hardware support? It's cheaper to put it on LCDs compared to amoled. F3 might just not have it.
It has metal frame, with plastic outer layer that is why you dont see antennas.
I just got the phone. The frame feels heavier than plastic. Probably it is the outer layer that feels plastic.
@@kokomicrunch5179 How good is it now you have had it for a while?
High quality review, good job!
POCO make amazing mobiles
I'm really tempted to buy this because I don't think flagships are worth the money. I think I'll be much more fulfilled with a mid-level handset. I have owned the Galaxy S21 ultra and Galaxy Fold 2 (probably two of the most expensive phones in the world) and after about a month, the excitement fades and they become pretty boring. And you're stuck with a £1200 device you're terrified of breaking! When you own a flagship, all you're thinking about is selling it
great review... one of the better ones for a xiaomi phone. cant make up my mind between x3 pro and f3. but that was before this review ;) and yes, for all you guys wondering, no NFC on the version available in Pakistani Market!
Please do a dedicated camera review...
Watching with my Poco F3, got mine on sale. If you're looking for speed, future proofing and decent camera. Look no further, this phone is already a bargain for what it offers.
Wht is the price of this phn in India plz tell
Its best for gamers. I can count the times i used my phone camera in a year LOL.
Display, cpu, battery are the best. And for that price? Its a no brainer.
It does have NFC! It least the one I'm holding right now has
You can see the NFC icon at 3:38 in the lower right corner. Not sure why they said it didn't.
This phones killing entire SAMSUNG series 😱😱😱
Great review, but It does have IP53 water resistant.
the one i was waiting for but the screen dimming when getting hot is a deal breaker for me.
yeah
They said they will fix it, and I'm pretty sure they will
@@ryanhessami5915 they did?
@@AlejandroMorales-cx2mh yes on poco f3 live stream with argnus I think
Watching this review on my Poco F3.
Loving this phone so far.
It really is a beast ❤️
***Edit***
The "screen dimming" issue is not a deal breaker for me since it actually protects the screen from burns since this is an amoled screen. I also think this will be fixed in a future update but regardless of that issue. I still love the phone.
What was your expectations before purchasing the phone and did it hold up to what you have expected??
What were your options before choosing F3?
Did you notice any screen dimming?? How it works in daily use? Is MIUI functional? What's your version? 6/128 or 8/256? Please answer, because i'm thinking of buying it. POCO will be available in my country on monday
@@werwurwe i was expecting a good display and performance and it actually did. Apart from the camera, the phone's performance is superb
@@jannowak-dk9ve so far i have not noticed screen dimming since I've only had the phone for 1 day and i only use it for social media apps and netflix/youtube.
I have the poco F2 pro and I'm very happy with it. Hopefully the F3 pro will be even better then mine
do you have problem with the brightness when the device become too hot ?
@@obaidaba1834 no
i love your phone specs website!
the pococ f3 is nice, Im just going to use open camera for better pictures👌
4:15 Reason why I check this phone, seems they also know...
Download gcam and this is a win. Great phone, just wish it had expandable storage really
Same I need that storage
though it isn't as convenient as an sd card, otg usbs are quite useful
@@stoppls1709 teach me the magic of otg usb (I have no idea what that is)
@@khizqialyasa they are usbs but with a type-c connector so u can use it for portable storage
brother can you please send me the link for gcam of poco f3
I'm watching this using my pocophone f1 bought just a couple of months after release.. i'm still thinking if i even need to change phones despite this not having 5g. Poco as a company makes really good phones that can last years so maybe on the next release of the poco f-series i'll buy a new one. If you're buying a new phone I'm sure F3 would be a great Midrange phone to buy. It's quality surpassed its price and will surely last you years much like how my poco F1 is still my trusted phone in 2021.
Will there be a poco f3 pro plus?
Its rename as MI11i with 108mp and SD888
Got it a day ago seems like a great phone. It has nfc.
Will there be an F3 Pro??
U didn't mention anything about the Screen Dimming issue?
@@wheezel55 no isn't related to gaming. Any time the phone heats up, the screen starts to dim down. For example, recording 4k video for some minutes.
I've had none of those issues. Sorry...
Is that an aluminium frame? I've heard some reviewers saying its plastic
Yeah
its aluminium yes
damn pretty premium
I couldn't spot any antenna lines in the video, so I suspect it is indeed plastic.
It's plastic that mimics aluminium.
You can tell the difference by touch. If the frame is cool to the touch, it's metal.
i dont really care about camera, and neither did poco when making this
just bought it, camera is good enough for me
performance is huge
Hey Will! Any significant performance difference in day to day use between the X3 Pro and F3? Leaning a little toward the X3 Pro but seeing F3 870 chipset is really bugging me.
F3 have the amoled screen though
I have two questions now: 1) another reviewer said the Poco F3 has IP57 water resistance, what's the truth? 2) no one else said the screen can go down to 30hz, they all said it is locked at 120 or 60, could you please explain?
I'm genuinely curious, because I've ordered the phone and wanna know all that it is really capable of doing and not doing
no, it's not adaptive, yet. it will be with miui 12.5, which is only released in some regions right now. there is no water resistance RATING, but there is water resistance as shown by the sealings on the ports.
710 nits sun peak you obtained that is pretty far from the claimed 1300nits sun peak..
My previous phone was the s8 (around 1000 nits) and I get around the same visibility in direct sunlight. You won't have any problems but yeah I don't think poco's screen can reach 1300 nits.
@@atsixes9915 The problem is that is very diffuse these nits claims.. take the Ipad Pro 2021 M1... they are claiming 1600nits peak... while in test on notebookcheck the old 2020 Ipad Pro 12.9 are actually a tad brighter, though not sure if they actually elevatef the sunpeak orr just use the slider...I tried to check the nits claik on my Tabs5.. with its AMOLED 1600p it is a tad over 500nits with slider, but if I peak the lightsensor it reaches just under 750nits .. videos below on this slide imgur.com/a/6N0tG4F
Gsmarena is the only review channel i really trust
I feel GSMARENA should've included the screen dimming issue when talking about games/screen.
If it was fixed or not, etc.
Seems like they didn't really put the device they're reviewing through its paces..
theres no dimming issue on my hand. it has been fixed long ago
Can you plz tell me which games were you playing while doing the review.
Second one Genshin impact
I prefer Galaxy A52 It has better main camera with OIS, better ultrawide camera, better software, no ads, 4 years of updates, headphone jack, SD card slot, ip67 rating
Main specification is performance design and screen this phone is better in all aspects than shitty samsoongg 💩
@@TheGrowMate What does "Main specification" even mean? If you are a 12 year old kid that only plays video games on the phone, then sure, buy poco F3. But for every serious adult, A52 is a better all around phone.
@@panosnord9978 what all rounder ? Poco has 33 watts charging a great processor 5g connectivity everything is top notch but. Shitty a52 is made of fkin plastic outdated processor outdated design only camera is good otherwise a52 is a piece of shit 💩
@@TheGrowMate You didn't read my comment, can you even read? A52 It has better main camera with OIS, better ultrawide camera, better software, no ads, 4 years of updates, headphone jack, SD card slot, ip67 rating. If the processor is so important to you why buy Poco F3 and not carry a Ryzen desktop with you everywhere you go? Also im sure your snapdragon 870 will be a lot slower than snapdragon 720G when it dies from liquid damage. Your only argument is insulting other people, you must feel very smart.
Ignore these fanboys lol.
The A52 is better in every way and unless you game, the 720G is more than enough.
No NFC = no Google Pay = deal breaker.
Also you should talk about haptics. Are they good and strong? Are they used often the OS?
NFC depends on the region, I ordered one in France, and it has NFC
No NFC support? I thought it has one.
Varies on Region but F3 has NFC
Man I would've bought this if it had a headphone jack and SD card
Just slap a gcam app on this phone and you'll get pixel 5 like photos in it.
i am using gcam on my vivo s1 pro and its working fine can you send me the link for poco f3 gcam thankzzzz
I was hoping we get the Samsung A52 review.
