I've seen another voice teacher utilize meow during vocal warmups. Combine that with the woof and squeeze in a squeak in there, and you would have my trinity of childhood pet noises! Whatever works and is effective though.
Thanks for this Lisa. I've had one of my worst relapses with ME/CFS in ages and it first manifested with a loss of singing voice half way through a choral practice! So it's been forced rest for more than a fortnight, maybe three weeks now. Hoping I'll be strong enough to go back in a week or two and I was looking for something to restart exercising with and this is just what I needed. You are a 🌟 😊🤗
Keep resting my friend!!! Another pro tip - get a narrow straw, place on end in a glass of water and "sing" into the straw while it is in the water. This will create another layer of resistance and is SUPER gentle and good for your voice!
@@SingeoOfficial ooh great idea, thanks Lisa... I'm such a klutz, I'll try not to get hiccups or the giggles😂 I managed to go to Choral last night using a walker and staying seated... Yay! Our chorus master, Sally, did some excellent warm ups that felt like they were especially for me! I felt so happy and relaxed but sooo exhausted after about twenty minutes... so obviously I stayed the two hour whole session and my voice held up really well. 😂 Just love Brahms Requiem so much, pleased to report I know it quite well and we worked on the fugue which is the part I'm weakest on. Now I just have to recover before next week! That's bed rest today at least... 😏
THESE ARE AMAZING!!! Thank you so much!!! I feel SOO grounded and connected to my voice, and these warmups don’t make my voice too tired or like I don’t feel warmed up enough. These are perfect. Thank you so much for real💯 Love❤
HI, @SINGEO! My name is Courtney, I am a beginner singer and I take a liking to your videos specifically, my question is do you have a video on breathing techniques for a beginner singer? From what I gather that is the first step in singing, correct? When I hear my voice there are times I notice I hear it sound decent but for the most part I can hear it all wrong, so I don't know how to control it or where to start. Please help. Thank you for your time
I have been using vocal warm ups from my vocal coach and they really help. I have been able to increase my vocal range through the warm ups. I am having a problem though when accompanying myself on piano. I want to sing the highest notes that I hear because I have a background in choir. It drives me crazy because it makes the song sound off. I would like to know how to break that habit because it frustrates me.
OOOH! that would be a challenge.. My advice is to play more softly .. so your voice is louder than the piano. Also, keep your chords or playing VERY simple.. you can even use inversions to highlight different chord tones to help your ear out!
