I also experimented with this a couple of years ago. I liked it when I dyed the cheesecloth first so that it blended in to the colour of the wool. Thanks for sharing :).
@@bffiberarts I have been using and electric sander wrapped in bubble wrap. I have work with loose silk and added bits of silk material onto bags, but it doesn't quite felt all the way for me. I'm still very new, but highly enjoying felting!
Don't be scared. Just try a small piece, like a handkerchief size, to start. You'll learn a lot and gain confidence without destroying a large project.

Ooooooo... that's a great idea! Thanks for the tip!
What would you use to dye it?! TIA
@@denisedeleau1131 I think it was dyed with turmeric……if not, likely RIT dye as that is what I usually use.
I love the cheesecloth idea and you did just enough to understand the basics. Thanks🥰
I read about it somewhere and was intrigued. Glad you enjoyed!
Thanks. Now I know to use one layer of cheesecloth. You saved me some time
Glad it helped. I really had no idea what o was doing lol.
This was great for us to see the difference. Thanks Have a good day and stay safe. 💜
Thanks for sharing your experiment with cheese cloth. I heard you could use it, but never saw a video on it.
I was curious too! Which of course means I have to try it cause I'm like that lol. Thanks for watching.
I was looking for a video like this. I was going to try a felt top hat with burgundy cheesecloth accents, but have never tried using it before.
Give it a shot! I love experimenting too see how things work. And use a palm sander to make it easier.

Darn. I was hoping for laughter. 😜 thanks Sadie. Take care.
@@bffiberarts lol if I knew more I would of x
Wow, awesome.. thank you for this! I wish you did it at regular speed though... I'm scared to make my first attempt!

Could slow down the video in options, but honestly wool is very forgiving, don't worry if it doesn't come out well, use it as a study piece.
I came across Nicola Brown’s tutorials.
(Have you seen her???)
Nuno felting.
I haven't. I'll have to find her.
I dyed my cheesecloth first.. but used a single layer of cheesecloth. My little scarf came out well…
Yay! Love to hear how other people try it and how it works for them.
Oh dying first is a great idea!!!!!
