Gates A1A and A2 are the most versatile in this airport, both of those gates can handle both domestic and international flights. I’ve used A1A as an INTL arriving passenger, a domestic arriving passenger, an INTL departing passenger and a domestic departing passenger. AirAsia has a tendency to not use jetbridges at Penang airport.
I'm Penang people from mainland Bukit Mertajam(BM), yes absolute nothing but few in mainland some are far a bit like IKEA mall(where some Caucasian like to buy some cabinet stuff) at Batu Kawan cross it via Penang 2nd bridge which connect to PEN airport Bayan Lepas and in my hometown BM there some of the old buildings are gone forever near the old train station(Lorong Tokong) the new train station near Bandar Perda, but still some curios backpackers came over here too! Last but not least there is 1 church which proclaim "Minor Basilica" last year even thought I'm not Christian, which is Church of St Anne's and I'm of it as Penang people hehehe
