    After climbing Kilimanjaro back in 2018 I was in search of a new challenge and decieded to finally take on Surfing. It all started in 2019 when I spent 2 weeks in a surf camp in Sri Lanka to find out if this sport is something for me or not…a few days in and I got more and more addicted. The first steps were taken and I decided to go for it and promised myself that every time I’d be in a destination where surfing is possible I’d take on the opportunity. In the following 16 months I got to work on my surfing skills in Portugal, Costa Rica, Morocco and Sri Lanka again before spending several months in a row in Portugal and becoming friends with the guys from Surf Cascais.
    When they asked me if I want to join them for a surf trip with friends to the Maldives I couldn’t say no. This is a story about catching waves and friendship in one of the most beautiful paradise destinations you can choose for a surf trip
    Use this video as your Maldives guide in order to help deciding if a Liveaboard Surf Trip would be something for you!

    Another wonder video, Steve. Maldives is another place on my bucket list :). And, I wanted to comment here because Im not sure if you'll see comments on a 2019 video ;). But, loved your video about Nuuk & Kangerlussuaq, Greenland! You really showed the sights so well!! I was actually there about the same time as you! I arrived in Nuuk on August 31st 2018, left on September 4th. And, was in Kangerlussuaq on August 30th and again on September 4th. In fact, the iceberg you showed on the Nuuk fjord actually looked similar to what I saw! Also climbed the same hill by the Nuuk airport, did the fjord cruise and saw the 'Instagram spot' that you mentioned. Or, at least close to that spot :). I took a group tour to the Greenland Ice Cap when in Kangerlussuaq. It was surreal seeing all the autumn colors and the ice cap. Even got to walk on it a little bit and snow was falling! This is not very highly elevated, so it was surreal to see snowfall on a late August day! The 1st snowfall of the 'new season' the guide said. It was a long tour so there were many cool spots on the way and back. Then again, before flying out of Greenland, took a tour in Kangerlussuaq that was only maybe 1 hour. But really incredible views of the landscapes near the airport. Especially as the light was shimmering magically on the waterways! No polar bears that I saw on any of my trips LOL, not too much wildlife. But saw reindeer near Kangerlussuaq. By the way, the lodgings near Kangerlussuaq airport are really wonderful too. The red buildings just a short walk from there. The airport hotel was all booked up, but I have no regrets! Also, was in a little "bed and breakfast" in Nuuk in the center. Walked on top a hill very close by, with great views of two sides of the fjord!
    Thank you for bringing the memories back! And, glad you got clear views on top of the hill (near Nuuk's airport). I got quite hazy views, which was magical, as well. But I do wish I got the clear ones! It was my last day there though, so I'll have to just return someday :). Cheers!

    I'm going on a boat trip on the Madivaru next month. Just wanting to know if there is fins for snorkeling onboard? I'll bring my own mask and snorkel but don't want to pack fins if not needed. Also how much are the beers onboard?

    Hi there Steve , i have a question , Do you know if people who work for the resorts are allow to surf he spots?

    • @throwaway77644
      @throwaway77644 Год назад +1

      There are some resorts that allow recreational activities for employees. I think you're allowed to surf if you're in such a resort. Or you could always try going to an island with good waves on your day off. Not as luxurious and expensive as the place they were but I've seen nice waves there.
