- The Wombo Combo as we know it presently was inarguably a huge moment for the onset of competitive Melee, but not even Zhu, its recipient, knew of its long-standing effects at the time.
What he didn’t realize, was that December 6, 2008 would become one of the most influential and iconic moments in Super Smash Bros. Melee’s history.
This is Zhu's origin.

Incredible work/effort once again walt. Was thoroughly impressed by the storytelling, production, and research put into this. It definitely does the Wombo Combo + my stories justice in so many ways

His set vs Masashi(Fox) is the first competitive Melee set I ever watched, 13-14 years ago and it holds a special place in my heart.
IMHO, he was years ahead of other falcos at the time tho PC Chris would soon rock the scene back in the US.

Damn I haven't played LOL in long months, but Orianna is still the prime example for setting up wombo combos. Seeing it in the video gave me some really nerdy heartfelt moments. Maining her for 7 years was so worth...

The end sentence gave me a little tear in the eye, a summation of how little moments can change a life and just how profound a little reflection of the past can be.
Then the end makes me laugh so hard I turned red as a beat and my roommate had to come over and say "Hey, are you breathing?"

I feel like maybe the segment about Genesis 1 almost downplays how big of a deal his placing was at the time. It was the first tournament where Armada came to USA, so at the time M2K wasn't "one of the FIVE gods," he was considered more like "one of the two best players in the world," behind mang0. Anyone who wasn't mang0 beating M2K was incredibly mind-blowing at the time, so for Zhu to do it in loser's bracket after Armada did it in winner's was astounding.
This is just a small critique on a really well done and very appreciated video. Genesis 1 is just an incredibly important tournament to me personally, as it is the event that got me back into Melee from Brawl; and the Zhu vs M2K set alone inspired me to main Falco for years and years of my Melee career.
Thanks for the work on this video, and thanks so much to Zhu for being part of the Melee community.

This guy was one of the top 2 Falcos that I looked up to, along with PPMD. Zhu had creative and smart combos that would make me think about how I could add them to my own play. Everything he did made sense, unlike someone like Mango, who I don't think I'd be able to replicate
