William (Bill) S. Robinson, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 29, 2015 at his home in Grand Junction, Colo. Bill was born January 14, 1923, in Charleston, to Kenna C. and Edith Lou (Peters) Robinson. Bill served in the US Army during WWII, afterwards he graduated from Morris Harvey College and New York University. While teaching high school drama in Minot, N.D., Bill met his bride, Mai Nagatomo. They moved to Grand Junction, where Bill was the Drama Professor and Mai was an English Professor at Mesa Jr. College, now Colorado Mesa University. Of the many awards that Bill received for his work, two of his proudest moments were when the University named the Theater after him, and the University of Denver awarded him an Honorary Doctorate (DMA). After retirement, Bill stayed busy with volunteer work with the Salvation Army, Red Cross, Community Food Bank, Grand Valley Catholic Outreach, to name just a few. Bill was preceeded in death by his wife, Mai; sisters, Rosalie Gordon, Florence Gates, Libby Pendlebury, Jean Ann Hartman; brothers, Kenna (Chick), and John. Bill is survived by a brother, Carl (LaNona) Robinson of Pinellas Park, Fla.; sister-in-law, Ida Robinson of Charleston; and many nieces and nephews.
