It's not that the sheep is evil...necessarily. To save his life, he was possessed by the crown. Notice that when he is doing "good" things, he looks normal, but when he's sacrificing people or preforming dark rites his eyes are red. One thing few people ever seem to bother with is that you can roleplay as a "good guy" who dosen't fall. Sacrificing followers, drugging them up on mushrooms, there are all sorts of bad things you can do to make the game easier on yourself, and to give you more power, but you can play the whole game without doing any of that, it just takes a LOT longer to build up your power.
Yeah, the thing about the Lamb is that you CAN be a complete monster in service to Mega-Satan... but you can also work to make a generally benevolent cult, which stands out in comparison to literally everyone else. The One who Waits Beneath is an evil deity, but the Bishops of the Old Faith, four living gods who run the existing religion, are also really fucking bad. Sacrifice, oppression, and slaying heretics are all par for the course.
And then you get the followers who literally beg to be sacrificed. I'm all like, "Have you not been listening to a word I've said, dear brother? We do not _sacrifice,_ we *_ascend!_*
Its actually better to be the savior because end game you're far more powerful since you've taken the time to unlock everything and understand the strengths and weaknesses of every enemy.
My entire run, I never imprisoned people and had 1 dissenter that was brought on through a quest. Never even built a prison. Nobody dissented, nobody became upset, there was plenty of feasting and rituals to honor the old that died of natural causes. I held a seasonal ritual of harvest and I destroyed all of the old gods with maxed out abilities. It took a while, but I did it.
I love the sudden realization that they animated this whole dang thing on top of everything else. Stupes and Bo Burnham are the only artists I know of with high skill in so many different disciplines.
Stupendium is a damn triple threat. Lyrics, music, and art! In this case there was some animation from the official advertising of the game interspersed in but they were able to emulate the style so well.
The creature rescued at the beginning of the song - and sacrificed to He Who Waits Beneath at the end - is Cozmo the Parrot, Stupes' computer-animated avatar from "A Pizza the Action".
What really amazes me about Stupes is their vocal control. I have seen many amazing rappers. I have seen many amazing animators. I don't think I've ever seen anyone with such immaculate control of their vocal muscles. The sheer number of voices they can do, the singing and the various textures they can add. Like if you listen to the start of the first verse and skip to the end of the last verse it's so much more aggressive. It takes a lot of skill to pull of a voice like that while rapping or singing.
Yeah, this is easily his best work yet. You can say that about every song he does. You would think the quality would start to plateau after a while, but it's still shooting up.
This is the 5th time I've watched this video, mostly from seeing multiple different reactions to it, and i JUST noticed the change in the lines of the chorus right before the end.
the believer that you kinda sorta follow in this song is ... cosmo? (i think thats their name) anyways its the same bird stupendium character we first saw in the security breach song
you can be some sort of evil priest, but you can also just be a benevolent leader and guide your flock toward a better future too. if you just take your time and not try to speedrun the game, you can go toward a more peaceful route. make feasts (of normal food, not people), tel them to eat grass, give them money and instead of sacrifice use ascention. also they really likes vacations, the one day they don't have to work.
Funnily enough all of the evil deeds are optional even if expected of you, in fact following them makes you’re character little more than a hypocrite and a tool, a lamb to a slaughter if you will.
At 7:10, the animal on the far left is a (I assume) a Hypnocat, a reference to the 2018 game changed. If it isn't and there's another thing this could be someone please correct me
I think the lamb is neutral. He seeks out revenge and in doing so fulfills a prophecY And then you ask could the lamb stop a prophecy. Does following fate make you a bad person?
Bruh, I've never heard anything like this. So dope. LUDO's Save our City is the only thing that even compares in my experience. If you're into "rock opera" you have to check that out.
All of Stupendium's stuff in on par in quality to this song. I'd personally recommend The Fine Print, Art of Darkness, The Toy Box, The Most Fashionable Faction, Rest Employed, And So We Fall. If you're feeling brave Ad Infinitum is amazing too. There's also The House Always Wins if you want one of his older ones.
If you’d like to listen to our latest Anime Rap, the link is below. It is a Luffy rap! Thank you so much ruclips.net/video/Mf6BFxSgwQw/видео.html

Man Stupes in any charismatic evil leader position is choice. evil capitalist or evil religious leader just fit the poetic flair he has.
They actually use they/them btw

Oooohhhhh okay that makes sense, sorry for the misconception and thank you for clarifying!

I think some are game cutscenes.
Like the happily digging the grave.
This is a 50/50 hybrid of new scenes I animated and scenes from the game and its trailers! :)
guys watch out stupdenium boutta put wool over our eyes 🥶🥶🥶
@@StratosFear221its not a game cutscene

I just realized that there's a choir because the whole song's within the setting of a sermon for a cult.
Like, dayum

6:49 anyone else love how they have the second hook have more of a reverb and less instrumental to make it feel like your hearing it in the woods

Stupes is a lyrical miracle and an masterful artist. Mad respect.
Great reaction.
They're seriously so talented! It's crazy

Ad Infinitum bruh
You should watch Dan and Stupendiums Frostpunk Rap battle. Stupes plays a religious leader and is fantastic in playing him

Stupendiums Ad Infinitrum goes wild with lyricism and you should check it out
Gotta love how there's a whole section basically just rhyming the word/sound it
bro was genially baffled the whole vidio
I really was though lol
The Stupendium has some of the best lyrics work on youtube.
Their Undertale rap is just as dense with double meanings and puns.
I’m pretty sure while Stupes did a first pass on the animation, they hired someone else to clean it up and make it feel like the game’s animation

the animal that you were wondering about is a bee you can have a bumblebee as a follower
Thank you! That one confused me, but that does make sense

NO! IT CANT BE
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
The Lamb is evil, but the other major players in the story are even worse. It''s a story of black and black morality.
I liked the blue Dan Bull character.
I didn't notice it! but a blue bull is obvious in hindsight!
Along with every other one being a fellow creator like a pink bear for shwabiddi
Also did not notice it and wow, that's awesome. Stupes loves to bring the whole community in and it's beautiful.

Someone sounds like they need just a little re-education.
It's always hardest to react to the good stuff because it snaps you out of reaction mode.
I will say this the only reason you should trust the lamb is he is the last lamb and your player character. You are the cult leader in the game
7:10 bee
You can be, kinda neutral if you want to
Nice song btw bro
Thank you thank you!
is this considered both Cultcore and nerdcore or just nerdcore? does anyone know?
