The line “I ensure every bandit standing here has just one arm” is actually about the slot machines, the lever is called an arm, and they’re bandits cause they take ppl’s money
Im pretty sure its a double meaning where bandits that come to Vegas will have their arms cut like in ancient punishments, while the only bandits in Vegas are slot machines, the one armed bandits.
@@sporf_sporf Exactly, yo. Remember, folks. Don't gamble in New Vegas unless your Luck stat is stupidly high. But if it _is_ stupidly high, then _ALWAYS GAMBLE._ Getting kicked out of all of the big casinos is an actual achievement. Take the House for all their money. Own the Strip. Be the biggest. Conquer the Dam. I fucking love this game. Buggy as shit and I don't care.
@@thecursedgalleon7096 Eh, I _do_ really care about bugs. Bethesda has a habit of making legitimately good games, but doing so with an old-ass engine and rushing the game development to absurd levels. Just think of what New Vegas _could have been_ with another year of development. NPCs that spawn in places that instantly kill them (Quest important NPCs too), corpses that follow you when you fast-travel and revive if they're respawning corpses (thereby attacking NPCs), merchants that don't sell anymore because their inventory doesn't refresh, broken Quests in general, item flag issues, falling through the map, getting stuck and BECOMING ONE WITH THE MAP, critters spawning where they're not supposed to, et cetera et cetera. Look, I absolutely _love_ New Vegas. It's a great game, not just a good one. But it should've been even better... but Bethesda gonna Bethesda. If they remaster it and re-release it, that'd be awesome, but _that_ would come with new and interesting bugs too xD
It’s a minor thing, but I always love how the song starts the refrain with “THE house always wins,” but as the refrain wraps up it echoes “House always wins” without the “the,” which is a great reference to House the character, the guy who, despite only being in “control” of a single city, has a well earned seat at the big boys table along side the other two major factions
If he wasn't in the state he is in the game, he no doubt would have a greater control. He is smart enough that he could probably get the other faction to go against one another leaving him on top.
fun fact: this song was made for a contest where different creators on youtube would makes songs for the different major factions of fallout new vegas. These factions were mr, house, the N.C.R (new california republic), and the legion. The reason these other songs dont exist is because this one was so good they didnt even want to try and go against it.
I can't recommend the Stupendium song "The Data Stream" enough. I love your reactions and am excited to see you do more of them, but especially that one.
Had to rewind when you first said it. Yep. That's the correct way to not pronounce it. But it's a company, can't hurt its feelings so *shrug* And if you could, it's not the worst company's feelings to hurt for that matter.
I think my favorite thing about this song is the expression he has while singing, he looks absolutely disgusted which fits amazingly with both House the character and the subject of the song
Yeah. The original "The House Always Wins" is a classic. Arguably one of his top 5 songs imo. But I might be biased because I was actually introduced into his channel and maybe nerdcore rap as a whole through this song back when it was just released. So this song in particular means something to me. So I might have nostalgia glasses on 😅
Yeah, this is one of those weird cases where 'both is good' definitely applies to House Always Wins and its Remaster. Original better hits the grittier, less polished edge that Fallout goes for unbelievably well with its relative scuff, and Remastered is a much cleaner song in general.
@@BSRaven I like the original better because of the melancholy feel it gives me. Like "You did this. Now you're alone. And what's left is bad." Really emphasizing the anti-capitalists sentiment he used to have. But the new one just seems novel.. like, the punctuation on certain words are gone in favor of a smoother transition, and there are sound effects like chips dropping and parlor guy asking if anyone is taking a bet... idk, it feels like it's not taking the message of the song seriously, and focusing more on gambling than the shaming for having caused nuclear Armageddon. Maybe my personal preference though.
5:30 idk man.. I've had some FANTASTIC collared greens before, but I've also had some that are just tasteless. Probably in the way that/or how long you're heating it for I guess. You can absolutely get some bland stuff. It probably also is effected by the brand your using
Oh yea, they definitely have to be cooked correctly in order to taste good. I went through a lot of trial and error before I got mine to be even just decent
There is a subtle unclear reference to the venture of the first entrepreneur in Rome if you paid attention to him, stating that why not make money in this situation "sweeping up the pyre". I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, but given that House is an entrepreneur, it would be a solid thing to make reference to the first real-estate-fire response agency.
In the background of the "House always wins" sections is him saying "place your bets". there are a couple of things else in there but place your bets is the most prominent.
"I ensure that every bandit standing here has just one arm." I just realized it meant the slot machines since they're usually rigged against you to steal your money, and they have one arm, the lever. And you'll notice that when he says that line, the background is a bunch of slot machines.
Never seen your channel before, but I'm gonna look through your videos and try to find some more stupendium. I liked your commentary, I don't know much about music and you brought a bunch of things to my attention that I hadn't really thought about before.
I've seen a few comments in here about how New Vegas is not Bethesda. A touch of explanation for you New Vegas is considered to be the best fallout game in Bethesda handed over the development to Obsidian. So Bethesda is the one who published the game but they did not make the game Obsidian made the game. Because the fallout games have gone so downhill people are willing to throw hands over who made New Vegas cuz it is the best fallout game since Bethesda bought Fallout. To give you a good idea of why there are some upset people. 😂😂
@@strawhatboys I'm more ranting about the styling of the gameplay. With more RPG elements than "Just quickload and try again till you succeed". Whether its because they had the chance to bat a second time or what, but seeing how Fallout 4 learnt entirely different things from its previous releases (Bethesda developed) I'd say that the gameplay aspect of Obsidian games if clearly more superior to Bethesda releases

Also that line about the farm is a euphemism for being taken out by the mob back in the day, i.e, "he bought the farm."

The remaster is so clean sounding, it lost a lot of charm of the og. The song still holds up today, even out of context of the song it's fire.

Followed by "No more bets", as you'd get at a roulette table.
There's 2 meanings to the bandit with 1 arm lyric, both they're unarmed and the slot machines
I think he's whispers place your bet, house always wins
Not him. Just in one of the casinos. A roulette table, and after all bets were taken the roll went to 38 red.
House wins.
2:46 one armed bandits is slang for slot machine
I'm glad that the first thing you mentioned was the beat. I LOVE the beat to this song. Arguably, it's the best thing in the song

I just realized it meant the slot machines since they're usually rigged against you to steal your money, and they have one arm, the lever. And you'll notice that when he says that line, the background is a bunch of slot machines.
The background noises and speech was the sounds of people involved with different forms of gambling. Mainly roulette and some kind of card game
One armed bandit is a term for slot machines.. they used to have 1 "arn" which you pull after placing the bet.
Thay say that ta rap is for a fall out faction debate song. It was so good that no one respond to it.
