Just got the new 2020 Civic Sport Touring Hatchback, 6 speed MT. Its black on black leather. The heated seats front and back are nice. Traded in a 2018 Camry XSE top of the line red leather. Civic feels smaller but still very roomy and much sportier. Headed to get the windows tinted with nano carbon today I think. Great review, spot on!
Like everything, the only drawback is pairing it with a CVT, those transmissions still have a long way to go before they become reliable as an automatic or manual.
@Herb Chambers Honda of Seekonk, I really want to like the new 2020 Hatchback but those crossbars over the 'gaping front holes' issue on the front and rear was the best Honda could come up with as a solution!? It just makes it even more 'busier' and it's such a dealbreaker for some of us unfortunately =(
Y'know, I've watched a ton of these videos on the Honda Civic hatch since I'm thinking about buying one and it's so nice to finally find one with a presenter that clearly loves cocaine as much as I do. Just nice for variety. I'm at the 5 min mark and I'm seriously considering calling my dealer for a bump. Right on!
The usual great presentation Laura, just wish Honda would ditch the CVT and use a conventional auto akin to Mazda's philosophy. They should've stuck with the K20 and k24 engines, two of the best four cylinders ever. Moreso with the 1500 turbo having oil dilution issues. K engines and a manual trans, best combo.
@@AJ-xm4xcOnly the Civic Type R is available with a manual here in New Zealand, and apart from the Jazz having a manual option all the other models are CVT's unfortunately.
It's a very nice car, except that the car sits low and if you live in a country where there are high curbs you might hit the lower front end of the car pretty often. Best part is that, there is just right amount of power whenever you need it in Civic.
We Honda owners are looked down upon for driving a Honda, but I can tell you by my experience, the Mercedes C class which I drove had poor visibility in the mirrors, I really hated driving the Merc. Also, I hate the collum shifters, one close to the steering wheel. Traditional shifters are the best. The honda Civic can turn corners so well, even better than Cruze.
Good review. Can you please tell me if the 2020 Civic Sport Touring CVT is available in a coupe version, and also if the rear-end spoiler impedes the visibility through the rear view mirror as it does in the 4-door Civic hatchback? Thank you.
Laura when Honda goes back to regular transmission I would love it. When I researched the maintenance I was shocked to find a 200.00 fluid change every 30000 miles and with the best care the cvt has a short life compared to normal transmission. So you would be buying a big head ache to me.
She is so much fun. I wish she worked at the Honda dealership where I am getting my new Accord. So I wouldn’t have to deal with those salesmen trying to rip you off 😂
Nice car, but Honda, why not an RS-version with the 2-L 250 HP, films up nice the cap between the 1.5T and the 305HP R-version. Would be a nice sheep in woolfsclothing.🚘
civics are awesome cars, i have 2019 civic sport myself, i just wish they would drop that cheap plastic on door interior and that piano black plastic near gear shift and steering wheel, that stuff scratches so easy idk why they keep putting it on cars
Laura I think you mentioned awhile ago you had a CRV because of the snow you guys get. How does the hatchback perform in the snow? And did you get snow tires for it?
I had a 2015 civic last year but I mean I would assumed it drives about the same. Good traction control when it needs it and like all cars in the winter tires are pretty much everything
Kendall Alston ahhh gotcha that’s honestly a tough decision! I had all season tires but I didn’t travel out of state or anything really far during the snow time here. The car does slide slightly when there’s maybe like 5 inches of snow or more and I live in the city so if you live in the mountains or something I say definitely stick with the Subaru or if you travel during winter also stay with your car. My civic was great during winter for me never lost control of my car or anything just losing some traction and what not but nothing crazy it’s really a great car just probably not in extreme snow weather
Hi Laura, How are you? I just watched your video, very good by the way. I liked the top sport model style. I loved the design of the body of lines of the car. The combination of white and black makes a good attraction and I like that hatchback touring model, is totally different. It is also very fuel efficient and I liked the practical way to handle the controls with the buttons and touch screen. Inside the car, it is comfortable and I like the definition of light and dark color, Excellent vehicle. Is my Opinion, Thank you Laura!
all cvt transmission and a center exhaust is the reason i cant get this model. i tow a small kayak trailer with my 12 civic now. thanks laura, you're the best.
My 2016 civic/lemon with 16,000 miles on it problems: While driving my Civic/death trap a computer error caused the computer controlled electric/electronic parking brake to engage four times in series sliding the rear tires and jerking the car to a stop. The Honda service department technician said nothing they did fix the problem. I traded my Civic death trap for a 2017 Accord with a manual parking brake, and ask the American Honda Motor Co., Inc customer service to compensate me for my $3,669.49 loss on the deal. Honda's customer service department brush off employee said the parking brake problem was fixed although the tech told me it was not, and refused compensation. Bottom line: if you buy a lemon, you own a lemon, it's your problem. Other irritating features: Squeaky windshield wipers, had to replace to maintain my sanity. Excessive drivetrain noise. I installed sound deadening insulation in the floor front and back seat and the noise continued. 3 of 4 out of round tires replaced due to drivetrain noise. The irritating noise continued. I now drive a 2019 Altima SL without drive train noise. Enjoy the ride.
