      @@khalidomar9106 The Civic Hatchbacks, including the Type R are, or were bring assembled at a production plant in the the UK(England), but was, or is in the process of being shut down, with production bring transferred to somewhere in Canada, with even better quality control in production. Canada has a good work ethic, especially for automobiles, and does quality work. My loaded 2000 Chevy Impala LS was built there, and of my 3 Buicks, and 3 Chevys, was my most problem free GM car, when I traded it in for a nice, but not as reliable 2006 Chevy Impala SS. GM quality has tanked, I plan to get either a new Honoda Civic Sport Sedan, Hatchback, Si Sedan, or a Toyota Camry TRD or XSE. But most likely the Civic Sport Sedan or Hatchback.

      I plan to get the Sport Hatchback, if I don't decide to go with the non turbo Sport Sedan, for more reliability, durability, and longevity, or the Sport Touring if I want to/can spend more for it, or an Si Sedan if I want to go with the 6 Speed, and extra performance.
      But for 2020, now that the Sport Hatchback has all the extra updates and upgrades from the 2019 Sport Sedan/Coupe it didn't have last year, plus, an even nicer new wheel design, though the previous wheels are nice. The Sport Hatchback has all the good features for the price, unless you are willing to spring for the higher price, and must have the LED headlights, LED turn signal lights on the outside mirrors, the nice full leather electric seats, 540 watt 12 speaker stereo, sunroof, and maybe a few other things I forgot. Plus, for 2020, the Sport Touring is finally bring offered with the 6 Speed manual, and addition to the CVT transmission, if you want that, and can find it. The 6 Speed was only previously available in Canada for the Sport Touring. And it is only available in White, Grey, or Black.

      @Noahvirtualvault 4 года назад +1

      Mr.Moa technically it’s a cvt throttle response is good but has a slight lag, you can only feel it if you’re driving in econ mode tho. Normally if driving in sports mode or normal drive you don’t feel the lag that much. In sports there’s no lag whatsoever and if you paddle shift correct the rpm is stabilized too compared to econ. (Hope this helps) lemme know if you have other questions.

    Great review Nolan. Always liked the new Civic, though I'm not so keen the sound resulting from the CVT. Luckily most on sale here (in UK) are 6 speed manuals. We even have a 1.6 diesel which can do 70+ mpg.

      The 6 Speed is standard in the Type R, and Si as the only transmission for those models, but is the standard transmission for the non turbo Sport Sedan/Coupe, and Sport Hatchback, with the CVT as an option, but the 6 Speed ones may not be as easy to find. But for 2020, in the US, the 6 Speed is now available in the fully loaded Sport Touring Hatchback, previously only available in Canada. If you reside in the UK, you have to check with your local dealerships, and their vehicle offerings, configurations and equipment vary in many ways from the US vehicles.

    • @AndrewKNI
      @AndrewKNI 5 лет назад

      @@jjacob25101 Thanks JJ. In the UK we don't get 2 litre but do get 1 litre turbo with 128 bhp. It's very good and the turbo makes it nippy in town.

  • @jjacob25101
    @jjacob25101 5 лет назад +8

    I wanted the Civic Sport Hatchback from when it first came out, but it was seriously lacking many good things, especially inside.
    I like the body colored updates to the front and rear fascia outer lower corners, though some people don't. I liked the previous wheels, but I like the new wheels even better. It made me more excited.
    But the real news is the 2020 Sport Hatchback finally got all the goodies it didn't get that debuted with the 2019 Civic Sport Sedan/Coupe last year, which totally bummed me out. But now, thinking more towards reliability, durability, and longevity, I will probably get the Sport Sedan with a non turbo and 20 horsepower less. I have had 3 turbo cars, and trying to avoid them, now. I just hope, and expect it to get these wheels, but they made the new updated Sport Hatchback and Si available now. I don't think there will be much if any updates for the Sport Sedan/Coupe, except for the wheels.
    The other news as you mentioned is that the Sport Touring Hatchback is now finally available with the 6 Speed manual, previously only available in Canada.
    As far as the upgraded stereo, it is great, but I wish it had a CD player and auxiliary audio input jack. Alpine makes a factory upgrade kit for the new Civics and Accords without the top line high power stereos, with a digital signal processor, amp, and powered subwoofer that fits under the right front seat for $750.
    I probably will go with the Sport Sedan with the 6 Speed if I can find one at that time, unless I decide to get an HR-V Sport for more cargo utility for shopping or carrying like my music keyboards and sound gear.

      How come you stay away from turbo, does it cause more problems ?

    • @jjacob25101
      @jjacob25101 5 лет назад

      @@justinguerrero6357 Yes. I had more of my share. If I get the Honda Civic Sport Hatchback, or Si, I am not going to trash it, but I would rather have the non turbo Civic Sport Sedan. I just like the Hatchback body style better, especially now with the new 2020 updates, and the equipment from the 2019 Civic Sport Sedan it didn't have last year. Ultimately, I would rather have a loaded 2020 Toyota Camry XSE V6 and try to get some of those parts from the TRD brakes, suspension, and wheels that can be added on, and are not built into the Camry TRD. The exhaust is nice, too, but an aftermarket company makes a better one using quad black Toyota Tacoma exhaust tips.
      Turbochargers are added to an engine to get more horsepower and torque from a smaller displacement, and also potentially have better fuel economy during normal driving.
      Some are built better than others, and how it is maintained and driven are also contributing factors. For example, with the same care and driving a new Toyota Camry XSE V6 engine could potentially last 3 to 5 tines, plus that, if the new Honda Accord Sport 2.0T engine.

    I have the 2018 Sport Touring, and honestly I don't understand why folks bemoan the CVT. It's an excellent transmission for what it is and does - maximizes fuel economy. And isn't that the point of an econo-box? What I really like about the Civic's CVT is that it maximizes the 1.5L Turbo's mid-range torque; no constant gear searching when traveling through hilly or mountainous areas that I've experienced in the past with classic geared transmission. If I were buying new now, I appreciate the option of the 6MT for the Sport Touring, but I'm not certain my final choice would be different that what I have now.

They are pain in the ass when you accidentally hit a small or big pot holes and it gets flat a lot of times, the wheel gets dent a lot of times and very expensive to replace each tire... a 16" wheels is safe for longer life tires that is about 31/2" thickness from wheels to pavement

    Let's get started looking at this: Previously I had a good opinion of honda
    My 2016 civic/lemon with 16,000 miles on it problems:
    While driving my Civic/death trap a computer error caused the computer controlled electric/electronic parking brake to engage four times in series sliding the rear tires and jerking the car to a stop. The Honda service department technician said nothing they did fix the problem.
    I traded my Civic death trap for a 2017 Accord with a manual parking brake, and ask the American Honda Motor Co., Inc customer service to compensate me for my $3,669.49 loss on the deal. Honda's customer service department brush off employee said the parking brake problem was fixed although the tech told me it was not, and refused compensation.
    Bottom line: if you buy a lemon, you own a lemon, it's your problem.
    Other irritating features:
    Squeaky windshield wipers, had to replace to maintain my sanity.
    Excessive drivetrain noise. I installed sound deadening insulation in the floor front and back seat and the noise continued.
    3 of 4 out of round tires replaced due to drivetrain noise. The irritating noise continued.
    I now drive a 2019 Altima SL without drive train noise.
    Enjoy the ride.
