Dan started writing his character like a racist dick with fewer redeeming qualities. Compare that to season 1 where he was out of touch- but wise and did a lot of nice things. He comes back to that in season 4 when Dan is gone, but 2 and 3 he just becomes more and more of a villain for seemingly no reason.
That is the reason. He's the season 2 villain. 😂 Chevy Chase would have been pissed off regardless of what happened. Butts heads with everyone he's ever worked with. You don't see Ken getting pissed off when he was the villain in season 3.

It makes me mad how biased most of the Normies are when it comes to Jeff vs the rest of the group, especially Abed who to everyone can do no wrong which is bull$#!%. Anyway, finally I just want to clear up that Jeff didn't do it just to prove a point, the fact that Annie commented on him not being a real lawyer hurt him so much that he was driven to compete against her, he cares a lot about what she thinks of him and that comment messed him up, he said it at the end of the episode but apparently Pat is the only one that actually understood what was going on. P.S. I hope we see more Eliza Coupe with Abed in the rest of the series, loved their dynamic.

No, season 2 Pierce bring more of a villain was a conscious decision, it was meant to be his arc for that season. And he’s not as mean in season 3.
