- Over eight hours of footage has been released by the Providence Police Department showing what happened in July when cops detained three teenage suspects. Though dozens of cops are seen in the videos, two police officers, Domingo Diaz and Mitchel Voyer, have been suspended with pay, pending an investigation into their alleged use of force during the arrest. Police confirm one of the suspects was taken to the hospital that night. No charges have been filed against any police officers.

FYI, lots of the time, media and videos don't completely explain what happened, maybe the teens were still fighting, so the cops HAD to keep fighting, u cant tell by that video if the teens were actually under control or not, the vid lasted like 2 secs. HOWEVER, the spitting was unneeded, that for sure.

It's clear the parents never gave them any sort of discipline, so I guess the beaten was probably overdue. But the spitting on him afterwards was the step too far. All in all after pointing guns at the officers, they should probably consider themselves lucky they wasn't shot and only received an attitude adjustment.

It is a tricky situation. The cop has the authority to cuff you if you’ve been misbehaving but the reverse has never been true. It can’t be. There has to be a process that’s a little more swift and police policing police is a terrible solution. There has to be a way without making it a witch-hunt as well.

They can't deny pay while it is bring investigated. But the moment they review evidence and determine he is the POS everyone thinks he is, they will call him in and fire him. So it might sound like he is getting a two week's paid vacation but it could be just 2-3 days.

Suspension with pay should be retroactive. You only actually get paid if you're found to not be liable of whatever you were being investigated for. That way guilty people don't get paid for being investigated but those who didn't do anything wrong don't not get paid for doing nothing wrong

@a M You do realize that it's not a cop's job to carry out justice? Their job is to take these people to jail and help out if there is something chaotic happening (such as mass shootings), that it. If the person is resisting, it's justified to use force to restrain them. But this was clearly not the case. The teen was on the ground and restrained. The cop was not in any danger either, seeing as there were plenty of other trained cops at the scene. There's really no justification for his actions. He beat and spit at someone who was already restrained and unable to do anything to hurt him. He's no better than the teen who committed a crime. That's really all that's going on here.

No Investigation basically means that whatever they said the punishment is, it will end at that. So the cops will just be suspended with no further punishments. It’s a trick used by business representatives to give an excuse for inadequate consequences. Basically: investigation means “we don’t feel like doing any more punishments but we’ll act like we’re still planning to so we don’t make people angry, they’ll forget about it after a while”

I still don't know what the kid did to those two Officers who went crazy. I noticed all the other cops didn't go crazy and beat up the kid as well. The kid must had done something so bad that it mind blown the Officer's training out the window. From a psychological point of view; spitting at someone is a sign of *disrespecting, berating, or detesting.* I had a feeling those two cops had a bad day at work and the thug kid just made it worst.

"Suspended with pay" is basically like vacation with pay, this really upsets me when this kinda thing happens.
I know right suspension with pay that a joke and insult. Some police now a day or majority of them act like a gang. I hope and pray that their still good police people out there, because if all police people act like this now, I don't know what's going to happen in our country.
