As a person up in wisconsin, most of my home waters are frozen at the moment, and lets just say waiting for the ice to melt is a struggle. As one who doesnt like ice fishing mainly due to health reasons, I gotta wait till it warms up here. Been spending my time this winter learning everything I can from you ranging from lures to techniques so when spring and summer comes along, Im going to be prepared for it. Keep up the content!
great message here ! simply dont give up.. I’ve had plenty of days fishing summer and winter that were super tough and then I pull out pert near my PB right when I was about to pack up and leave
Tyler one thing no one talks about is power plant lakes/reservoirs. In Texas there are several of these lakes and the water temperature stay around 75 degrees during mid fall, winter, and spring. In fact a lot of these lakes are going to see the spawn occurring earlier than most lakes. The problem I seem to have is should I use a fall or spring pattern, and should I consider pre-spawning areas. All the helpful fishing videos I see are geared towards colder water fishing patterns nothing about these types of water. It would be interesting to hear what you think about locating fish in these types of lakes. Thanks and Gig’em.
Never give up! I practiced some casting on New Years Day since the bite is nonexistent up here. You can say I also practiced skipping since my lure went bouncing off the ice on my local river 🤣😂
Cant wait to see that PB video. 10 days for a "10"... lol yes I read that article. I am so happy for you man. I'm so excited to see you reel in that monster bro. Gosh that had to be great. Make sure you drop that series soon, I'm itching to see your excitement when you reel in that monster. Couldn't of happened to a better human being. Keep being great and tight lines tyler
I mean all of your videos have made me a better bass angler but I live in CT so it's really hard to catch fishing up here most people i know don't want to fishing in the winter so i just watch videos and learn stuff for the spring but from what i can take i'm more of a shore angler so i will try moving baits and if that doesn't work i'll fish a texas rig or jig (IF THE POND ISN'T FROZEN OVER) my favorite pond is extremely small and it's easy to fish
Awesome video thank you! Do you ever fish southern California? It's scarce and pressured and generally the weather is consistently warm. Do you think that leads to different patterns and rules of thumb or should the same things apply to a greater or lesser extent? Seldom do I catch a fish on anything other than draggin' a worm or a little soft swimbait.
As we push further into January, we in Georgia will begin to go further into the pre-spawn. The second to third week of January is when the pre-spawn starts. It’s slow but will begin to get better as you go further into the winter. I love the pre spawn.
As an angler in el paso tx fishing is tuff period and your so right !I've caught them in dead winter versus getting skunked some days in the pre spawn season when that's the easiest thanks good to know very informative 👍
Ascarate park all the canals in the west side nothing major but we be catching them in the river when they release the elephant butte damn the Rio grand is full of cat fish right now its trout season at ascarate park
I think you kinda nailed it, didn’t drive it home but yeah it’s just tough going and there’s no one key answer or bait. I found out they’re willing to chase sometimes in the coldest of conditions but I failed to get it to react and bite, it was kinda mesmerizing and sad at the same time because I was astonished that it was chasing my jig as I reeled it in but due to my amazement I didn’t pop or pause the jig while it chased it lol
@@TylersReelFishing Looking forward to it! I’m sure you’re still “reeling” from the excitement! Well deserved! I’ve learned a lot watching your channel. Big congratulations! 🙂
Yup, been tough here in Southern California this past winter. Getting sick put a dent in my plans to fish the winter storms. Did catch my first shakey head rig fish last week. And my less-pressured urban creek put out 2 bass and bluegill the other day. Have to get creative and hit places I normally don't.
@@TylersReelFishing would you recommend the hypermag or the tournament pro. I would like to spend less money but I will get the hypermag if you think it's worth it.
Good video and really good advice. Here in Connecticut 9" of snow on Friday, freezing rain today, but dreaming of a new kayak for spring and looking forward to my 1st KBF tournament in April.
I usually dont fish in the winter (usually because my parents say that it is too cold) so i mainly just watch instructional videos on how to catch bass and then when springs comes im full of knowledge
Winter bass here in ky are very temperamental and stubborn… thank you for busting those myths… one of my fav go to spots the water is so very muddy and the water is ice cold… I did have luck on a creature bait the other day that was blank with blue glitter In it…
Caught a great bass on a whopper plopper about 6ft from the bank yesterday 😂 but I get it. Definitely not a bite I can rely on. When I’m hitting ponds Im winter, I basically do one pass around with slow topwater or chatterbait around the bank before I start my targeted or bomb casts. Always seem to find 1-2 big ones up shallow
So since bass like to chase baitfish, is the Alabama rig a really good lure to use, the only one you should use or, A lure you can use? I think you should make a video on the Alabama rig! if you have, lemme know!! Nice video Tyler!!
In Missouri 40 degree or less water temperature I catch them on jerkbaits over deep brush piles and long points generally in 15 to 20 ft then I follow it up with a shakey head once you find them can catch several off same structure it's a grind for sure but well worth it
you should go out right now and throw a big 8" hud and try to get ur pb Matt allan would definitely tell you to haha and yes I always learn something from your videos Tyler! Love you bro you my main man when it comes to fishing

Thanks Tyler had to laugh loved the opening statements then that talk about top water made me lol caught some nice ones here in Pa on top water walking bait in water temps from 42 -46 in 2' of water
