  • Today we are running 2 different sizes of Viper Spoons - the SP1 size and SP2. Both are rigged with a live night crawler and we are bottom bounce trolling using the pre-tied T-Turn bait rig #20R. Trolling at about 1.7 MPH and hugging the bottom, staying in the strike zone was the key to a fantastic day on the water!

    I love how you protect yourself from the sun on the lake. I don't think most people how exhausting the sun can be while on the water

    I seem to be getting a lot of tangles on my T-turns also. Trying to figure out what I am doing wrong. What are you using for rods (length, action, weight)?

      the most important thing for success in this area, is to ensure the tag end on all three knots is trimmed short, right at the knot itself - then you should be good to go :)

    I seem to tangle my harness up with my bottom bouncer must be because I’m only using a 3 oz bottom bouncer in 60 ft. I’m limited to weight because I use a regular rod over a trolling rod.

    Ivo, can i use the viper spoon for lakers on a downrigger?
    I can't seem to get into them with the downrigger, i always default to vertical jigging.

      yes - you can use the Viper Spoon for Lakers on a down rigger - in fact, we like to use the super strong SS-20 Viper Spoon - its rated for salt water and large fresh water gamefish

    There must be no risk of snags where you are fishing

      there are som snags, but if there were more, we have a sinker called the Cattail sinker, and it is designed to walk over rocks to help keep you out of snags :)

    Are you trolling with your electric? How far behind the bouncer is your baits

    • @thundermistlures
      @thundermistlures  Месяц назад

      Yes I am trolling with my electric and the T-Turn rig #20R that I was using has the bouncer 31 inches away form my lure or about 36 inches from the actual worm bait :)
