EXCELLENT UPLOAD👍.... This was a huge event for Agnetha and it really shows in her expressions. The groups first visit to the USA being on the Syndicated TV Show American Bandstand. My favorite of all of the 100s of ABBA uploads. Agnetha is simply stunning in her beauty.
6:37 when I vacationed in Stockholm last July, I saw subcontinenter like myself, southwest Asians, Africans, etc. Actually, the best Thai food I ever ate was in Stockholm…better than what I got in Miami when I used to live there.
I don’t know how I missed it but this is the first time I’ve noticed that he’s playing a grand piano… In theory but somehow it’s playing like a keyboard and synthesizer.. I find that very peculiar if not impossible for 1975
I sometimes wonder if Frida and Agnetha really wanted to wear those skimpy outfits. If I were a woman, I’d have objected, crying, “I’ll freeze 🥶 in this outfit!!!” (As a heterosexual man, I don’t like wearing shorts, for the similar reason)
Love Mr Clark but his interviewing questions were cringeworthy by today’s standards. Even though this was recorded some 46 years ago, I was so hoping he didn’t say anything too too off color. I thought I was going to witness a train wreck. Unfortunately, in today’s snowflake populated world, ABC would have been under pressure to take American Bandstand off the air or at a minimum, suspend Mr Clark for some of his comments.
6:37 it’s interesting that Anni-Frid doesn’t mention that she herself immigrated to Sweden from Norway. And she doesn’t mention that she’s half German (in that case, she had a real reason). Of course it’s understandable…had she stayed in Norway, she’d have been institutionalized like other kids whose fathers were Nazi soldiers. Considering the time period, it is hard to mention that you were conceived and born out of wedlock, let alone have a father who fought for the Nazis (even if her dad may not have been necessarily involved in the persecution/killing of Jews or other unwanted groups during Hitler’s reign).
Little did these teenagers know that seconds away they were going to witness greatness in front of their eyes with Abba
Always loved this band
Agnetha ...half century later I'm still in love with her

LAGU YG TAK LEKANG OLEH JAMAN
ABADI GAK BOSEN NGELIATNYA
A timeless classic! 😊
It's a shame they didn't perform "Waterloo," too. It had been a Top 10 hit in the US the year before.
They were trying to promote their latest (current) singles
I think SOS is much better than waterloo
They did Waterloo. This isn't the whole broadcast. Keep looking, it's here somewhere.
How do I remember that? I was 10 years old.
@@TheBandit7613 They only did SOS, and I do I do I do which was their latest single. They did do Waterloo on midnight special

I mean lipsync was here before the war even lol
It likely was from the Bandstand prop department since they were lip syncing anyway

Who cares if they’re cold? They look sexy in them.

Without a saxophonist on stage, it sounds/seems stupid. Granted, they lip-synced, but at least have the equipment. Otherwise, excellent tunes.
