  • In Australia, the phone number to call for emergency medical assistance is Triple Zero (000). If you call the Queensland Ambulance Service for help, our Emergency Medical Dispatchers will need to ask you a series of questions to make sure we can get to you as quickly as possible.
Callers can often get frustrated with this and think that the questions are delaying the ambulance, but this is not the case. Our EMDs Karen and Josh explain in this video.

I had to call these folks after I put an angle grinder into my right knee. They asked all the right and relevant questions to determine my injuries and priority while seemingly already connecting with vehicle locations etc. They were told Its not life-threatening due to bleeding to help them address matters of urgency. They are truly a credit to our community and were prompt to arrive. They could not be faulted, and were professional In their dealings with me.
I received wonderful service from ALL Who helped me that day.
Thanks Qld Ambulance Service For your fine assistance. Highly impressed with my first (and hopefully last..) encounter with you. Perfect. Big thanks to all involved.
