I once found the leak in my hvac coil with a sennheiser shotgun mic. The HVAC tech was having trouble pinpointing the source of the leak with his sniffer.
I own the tek mate stratus, quite like it, cant get fieldpiece here as easy but i do like their current leak detector dr 82, anyway i found out later in my job i need to find vacuum leaks aswell, when im doing medical air work and theres nothing that can locate that nuisance like a sonic does, so ill be buying this as soon as i can. Another use is chiller door leaks and seals and if your game enough fine water leaks in walls. But i think ill buy the extended metal spear tip ratger than the factory extention, and i kinda wished they used a removable battery that we could buy that was rechargable, like a nokia phone cell or similar rather than DD batteries…even C size woulda been easier. Noone carries DD in their van,
I’m using this device to find a leak in my air compressor plumbing system and it just makes a loud white noise when I put it in various areas. Not sure if mine is defective or what. I even held it at a fan and it didn’t do much.
It doesn't work very well. Only time i use it is when the leak is too big and i can't get close enough to pinpoint with my feildpiece. I've had bubbles on a smaller leak and held it right up to it and it heard nothing.
How it exactly work? I need "free open" space between leak hole and ultrasonic detector? How it would work in automotive a/c system, when leak is for example behind front bumper, or deep down in engine bay, under engine, on compressor fitting? Will it work? Thanks, sorry for my english hope you understand !
Yes I would purchase one again, it’s not perfect for every scenario and a rarely actually need this one. the majority of the time I just use big blue, and nitrogen to find leaks. But for those stubborn leaks, this has worked for me multiple times and I trust this more than 75% of the other electronic detectors I’ve used.
Not a fan of this fuckin thing with fans as a background noise. Coils need to be wet to help in finding leaks. I think Accutrak is the way to go for an ultrasonic.
If you are interested in helping out the channel, consider using one of the links in the description. Thanks!
Looks like a good unit! Much cheaper than the AccuTrack too!

Looks like like a nice detector. Thanks for the great videos.
Thank you for the Consistent support Gary!
Nice bit of kit
It was a good addition to the arsenal
The one flaw that I see is the touch sensitivity adjustment. After time and dirty fingers, you’ll be pounding on it to get it to work.
Thanks I'm going to purchasing this
Right on. Still love mine

That’s a big leak
Yeah, but with the accu track, I would have picked it up 8 feet away. Not the best set of homes, but not the best ultrasonic.Lead detection at all
I tested it , it's not good leak detector
marksman 2 is better, and better headphones
had a regular one of those it can't find anything, wouldn't buy anything from that company again.
So with this device I can see if leaks for sonic games are real. SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY
